Today I started sawing a massive red oak on the Woodmizer LX 150 Sawmill, This Log is Big, Heavy, and Clear! Great Log! I used the Kubota MX 5400 and Forks to load, unload and flip the log! This lumber will be used in my office in the new building!

Wow! That’s a nice chunk of oak. When we built our house in 1998, I took some 70’ spruce down and some red oak, had a guy come in with a portable woodmiser ( on a trailer) and cut the logs. built my cabinets and did my basement with it. Turned out awesome. That is a beautiful log. That’s really gonna be cool in your office.

The power company took down two red oaks like yours 0n our place and I had one heck of a time removing them from the woods with my bobcat!, I hauled 15 logs out of there and it up for firewood for family members that needed it for heating. So I kept one 5' log thirty inches in diameter to make a coffee table and to end tables, I don't have a sawmill so I'm going to try and cut 2 boards 2" thick with a chainsaw and then try and plain them down!. Your sawmill does a great job can't wait to see your office!, I enjoy all your videos!.

Good morning from NC! Awesome wood - I really like what you’re going to use it for. But, yes, those big ones take longer. Lots of board feet. I think you had 6 boards 5/4x12x 10’ and wider. Discounting the extra fourth as kerf and kiln/planing loss, that’s a minimum of 60 bf already, with 11-12 more boards and another 150+ bf to come. Nice! -- I’m getting ready to head to the farm on Thursday for 2 weeks including deer season. Really looking forward to that.
