Those you callin Pippen a bum don’t know shit about basketball. The man could guard damn near all 5 positions. Guarded the best player on every team. Even carried the bulls to the ECF when mike retired the 1st time. 9 time all-star, several time all defensive player. Can get a bucket whenever he needed. Ran point. Film don’t lie.

I will forever have PIp at my 3 spot regardless of the era. At his prime there is no better small forward on both sides of the ball! His defense was amazing. Night in and night out he defended the best player on the other team. 1-5 and still got his! He is the originator of the point forward that everyone is looking for since. Pip you are a legend man!

Alot of folks say pip never won a ring without MJ....however MJ never won 1 without pip. What lots of folks forget is in the 94 playoffs on a phantom foul call (which wouldve been ticky tack even if it did happen) on scottie pippen on a hibrt davis shot the entire series changed. Istead of the bull being up 3-2 they were down 2-3. That matters cuz game 6 was in vhicago...which the bulls won... So If bulls were up 3-2 that wouldve closed it out. The winer of yhis series was thought to be the team in the finals to rep the east....and ny DID go to the finals. However game just tied it up to go to gm7 at MSG. So Pippen did almost get it done without jordan

@@fredrickmeredith3564 When you have the greatest player of all time on your team, you need role players. Paxson was a fit for that team at that time. The play in the league has changed so much that role players are required to have a different set of skills. The 3 and D guy is much more valuable in today's league, for instance. I do find it interesting that my comment had to do with a star like Harden and your comment brings up a random role player. At best, that is a false equivalence. Even Phil Jackson said he had more talented teams with the Lakers and I agree. My comment in this thread wasn't necessarily as much about talent as physicality. I miss that part of the game. I get that you don't, but to most of us from that era, sitting there watching centers chuck 3s rather than battle it out in the post is boring. The defensive aspect of the game was just as exciting to us.

Everyone calls Giannis the freak, but the original freak was Pippen who at 6'7" had a wing span of a 7 footer with long arms he was able to get many steals as well as crucial blocks, and big rebounds whenever the Bulls needed him to play big inside. Many people like to compare the Bulls of yesterday with the Warriors of today and all I have to say on that is DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! If the Bulls where playing by todays rules with the touchy fouls and no hand checking or physical play the Dubbs would win no doubt, but if the Dubbs where playing in the 90's era rules with the physical play there's no doubt the Bulls would dominate the Warriors!!! First off they would put Pippen on Curry, Curry is great but he wouldn't be so successful with a 6'7" Pippen with the wing span of a 7 footer to either block his outside shoot or disrupt(in Scottie's prime he could guard all positions even Curry, check out his defense on Magic Johnson in the '91 Finals that was crucial in the Bulls going on to win their 1st NBA championship), then they would assign Rodman the boards as well as neutralizing Draymond Green, and that would leave either Klay or A.I. to guard Jordan, good luck with that!!!

LOVE the reaction when Mike first mentioned Nique's name! Genuine excitement and respect when they said "OH"! LOL When Stern first took over the NBA HE KNEW that the NBA was the PERFECT TEAM SPORT to really market individuals. So the league was SMART and knew they had 6-8 Rockstar type players in the league. Guys who could easily get the casual fan on board because of their charisma and style of play. Once Stern's plan unfolded, Nique DAMN SURE was one of those guys! Along with MJ, Magic, Bird, Isiah, and Barkley. While Kareem and Doc were rock stars of course, BUT were on their way out of the league. That's HOW MUCH of a superstar Nique was back in the day. Add to the fact he was seen all over the country on TBS, no doubt he was the King of the South hoops wise in terms of popularity! I'm glad Pip pointed out that Nique has become underrated as time has gone on!

Deep down Oakley knew they should have beat the Bulls in the 93 eastern conference finals and went on to the NBA Finals and maybe won a championship that year, game 5 was such a tough loss.

LOVE the reaction Oak and Pip gave when Nique's name came up! The initial OHHH said a lot right there. While Pip was giving Nique his props, I dug Oak just shaking his head smiling. Even though Nique didn't get his just due accolades (50 greatest, wasn't 1st ballot HOF, etc.) ALL the players past and present give him props. If u factor his mentality AND freak athletic ability, probably the most physically dominant scoring machine the SF position EVER SAW! Of course Doc is the godfather. And Lebron in general OVERALL is the most physically dominant. BUT Nique's MENTALITY like Pip said to attack scoring the rock AND his freak athletic ability made him special! My favorite player of all time!!! Show less

Tyler Reckless lol I don’t give a fuck about his personal life that’s his problem, but Scottie the player is one of the top 10 defenders to ever play the game and two way player. If you don’t think that Scottie was just as important to Jordan Career just as Jordan was to his cause without Scottie he would have been the 80s version of Wilt Chamberlain where he got all the numbers, but could only we 1-2 championship then that’s your opinion. lol and Scottie is not my favorite player maybe not even my top 20 favorite so get that out of your head my guy cause I know you thinking that.

@@JennyMarieChristian That's true about Rodman:) He has told that story about how Phil Jackson had him apologize to Scottie first before he signed with the Bulls. Good for them for putting aside their differences to achieve a common goal. But I also wondered if Isiah wasn't a good enough player so the Dream Team wasn't willing to compartmentalize and include him 😆
