    I've used a very similar cam from Comp's custom library on several builds. They're always a pleasure to work with. I've also used that 4500 throttle body, with great success, with compression ratios from 10:1 to 14:1 and up to 8k rpm. Great unit!

    WOW, that's going to be a FAST street car and even have AC, i was going to ask if that ring and piston combination is ok for higher mileage street vehicles meaning with the thin rings etc.. Will they last? I guess with AC he isn't going to take any track time ultra seriously thought with 905 hp he better have some serious traction and a drivetrain to match that engine and even know how to handle a vehicle with that power. Seems EFI is the way to go over a carb. especially for ease of tune? Have to admit it sure beats swapping jets out. Interesting that there is even more hidden power with the new head design.

  • @chrislangdell117
    @chrislangdell117 Жыл бұрын

    Tuning to find its power is great but I hope before you sent it out that you knocked a degree of timing out and went back to atleast 12.5 on the AFR. Especially with the higher compression. Cool engine though. Nice build

    Good build. Your theory on the exahust being ingested by the engine could be partially could be correct. It has been proven that putting on a collector extension helps improve power. I can't vouch for it as I don't have a dyno to check if it does

    The GM Performance 632, makes 1000 hp. What makes your engine special? If you made 1100 or 1200 hp that would be impressive.

    @@bigboreracing356 Yup, you made my point for me, this rookie shop does not know how to set up the oiling on a 632, these guys just buy Chinese parts and bolt them on, have no idea what they are doing.

    @@bigboreracing356 blow a head gasket? Do you think the head gaskets are the weak link to making 900HP on a pump gas 632? How do you know they were using "cheap" pump gas? you mean Arco cheap? My street 11-1 632 with SR-20 heads makes just over 1000HP on 93 octane @6700 rpm with no corrections. It has a hydraulic roller cam similar to what these guys are running with their mechanical but tighter lobe centers, and 1.8 T & D rockers for more lift, we are in the .740's for lift. On the oiling, you are exactly right, when running a large stroke BBC you have to keep the oil level down. If these guys were not rookies they would know that too. The reason I pick on them is because Jacob has an arrogant cockiness to him, and it drives me crazy when a shop claims to have their own parts, when they are really just importing the same Chinese parts that Scat and Eagle (others too) sell, and claiming them to be their in house parts. I had to laugh on the 632 short block video, Jacob was claiming "Smeding" rods, when you could see the Eagle part number on them... We tell our customers whose parts we use, no private label BS ing. As for cutting slack, plenty pf people do exactly what these guys do, there are plenty of engine builders keeping the hobby alive, although Covid has thinned the heard a bit, and the incoming recession will thin it some more, personally I would buy a Skip White engine over these guys, at least you know what parts you are getting and Skip White uses Sunnen hones, not a crappy old Rottler. (smeding recently got a new hone, so I will have to lay off that one soon) Blueprint another big performance crate engine builder, and Blueprint has good purchasing, the Chinese cylinder heads they buy are good ones.

    I’m sure that is built for a cruiser but. My 540 pump gas made 885 with an AFR 357 and a profiler intake. Put a freaking cam in that thing. Your missing 90 hp. .670 is pretty small for a 377 head on a 632. Looks like an SV2 intake. That intake and head combo needs 7000 min and an 800 cam.

    @@bigboreracing356 I like the 632 build but it can do a lot better then that, not the builder but some guys are shy about how big you can go on a bbc cam wise for the street. 632s don’t last very long but really make great race motors. I bought my 540 in pieces so it’s a relatively low $ build.

    @@bigboreracing356 An NA 555 will easily make 900 with the right cam but you guys run little cams so I guess not. My buddy’s 555 made 895 on pump with a bigger cam than my 540 and a not so great head. My other aluminum 540 made 965 with compression, a huge cam and a really crappy old dart head. I guess you didn’t read my reply. I bought a parts motor and built it for less than 10k. Ok I made 885 hp with less than 10k. It Will outlast any short pistoned 632, makes 885 hp and I’ve had it for 8 years, drag racing, street driving, cruising. It’s reliable and it’s mine, DO YOU GET IT? I would never even consider a 632 because it’s maxed on bore, has issue with the head bolt holes cracking into the bore ect.

  • @JacobVillemain

    @JacobVillemain

    Forget what the cam card says. Those are auto generated from the computer when Comp prints the card out. On the spectrum from mild to wild there are literally thousands of lobe profiles that Comp Cams offers. These lobes happen to be on the "hydraulic" side of the spectrum, however they were selected for this application due to their gentle and stable design. That being said, you could run hydraulic lifters on these lobes, but the spring pressure required would overpower the had function & plunger.
