You gotta give it to people who drive their vintage cars in the rain.

Respect! Those cars were built to be driven!

Unless I’m very much mistaken that’s not just any old blower Bentley that’s Tim Birkenstock Bentley blower, number 9 and reg UU 58 72
What a car! 90 years old and still runs like new! The good old days when british engineering ruled the world! They certainly dont make em like that anymore! Classic british engineering!

Ahh but they are about too, a few copies (11 I think, 1 for each race the blower Bentleys competed in) of I would take it this very car. It is bound to be online somewhere.

The thing I like about the Le Mans Bentleys (but not the supercharged 4 1/2 liters, sorry) is they're built like the proverbial brick wall. The (unsupercharged) 4 1/2 liter car that won Le Mans in 1928 crossed the finish line with a cracked chassis and an engine that has run out of water (it suffered a cracked radiator), but the engine is still running, and car is still moving!
Great to see this car being used so us younger generation can see, hear and appreciate them. That can't be done in a museum.
Lucas electrics shining with one headlamp🤔

I think classic Bentley owner are a different breed to most.
Look at the positive camber that thing has! Wow
Probably the fastest racing "lorry" ever !

Me:How much fuel does it consume? Bentley: YES

Skinny tires, big power and weight, and RAIN. This driver is nuts
suena como un avioneta cool
state of the art //
Might I ask what the deal is with live streaming races from the members meeting then making them private? The hole paywall thing for that even miffed a fair few folk, but I can't see the logic of streaming it, leaving it available for a good while, then making it private?

It's to force you to join the GRRC Fellowship. It's like £40 but I I haven't done it yet

Well, I'll not be doing that out of sheer principle.
I would think that he couldn't really open her up due to the wet road and concern that he might loose traction and damage his vintage Bentely!

Oh yes, over the years pre-war Bentley's were 3 litre, 4.5 litre, 6.5 litre and 8 litre. In the 1960's it was said that you could buy one for £10 a litre. Wish I had bought a few.😀

Hi Chris. I don't know if you have seen one in the flesh, but even the 3 litre is quite big. The one in the video is a supercharged 4.5 litre and is big. The 6.5 and 8 litres are massive. Try to get to an historic car meeting to see what I mean. Well worth it.

Is anyone here a real car nut… no one has picked up on the fact that’s Birkins Bentley blower, look at the reg UU 58 72
It's Bentley 4 1/2 litre dual cowl sports tourer by vanden plas 1929 a total 720 4 1/2 litre cars were produced between 1927 and 1931 including 55 cars witch a supercharged engine popularity know as the blower Bentley a 4 1/2 litre Bentley won 24 hours of lemans in 1928 supercharged 4 1/2 litre Bentley's competitive perfomance was not outstanding it set several speed record
The earth is flat and stationary 👍
Don,t hear much ''growling''.
Look at all that ruined straw.
Visually this is so jarring. An ancient car with a driver in modern gear looking for all the world like a space alien behind the wheel.
Wow, what a disappointing sound. I built a model of one of these back in the 1970s, and I always imagined a supercharger scream. At least now I know. As Ettore Bugatti described them: the world's fastest lorries.

Looks like you actually think it should sound like the Mercedes Benz SSK
...and todays cars sound like a fart in a tin-can.
