I am a Cameroonian. Kobe's dad was simply blessing him. Most Cameroonian folks(including the ones who claim they are Christian's) believe and pray for the ancestors to follow and watch over them and their kids or loved ones. Especially the older folks.

What Kobe’s did is a blessing upon his son. I am from Kenya and lives in Canada I know what it is and how it feels to go back home and also to leave all of your family behind…the tears

I hope Kobe’s kids get to move to Cameroon for a couple of years before school they start school. They will Learn a new language and culture and they can only grow vastly in every way… they will pick up Francais so quickly and that’s only more education that is priceless. I really hope they move back for the kids sake and Kobe. The states is ok but their is life out of Kansas. Truly. I felt really bad for Kobe leaving his family.

I love Emily's parents because they are so welcoming and humble which you don't see much in the US towards non whites.

They are very lucky to have the parents travel together and help with the kids. Glad he got to see his dad especially since he wasn't well. Seem like good people. Hope everything works out. Long trip. Maybe compromise every 3 year or 4 to visit..traveling expensive

I'm not even from Africa but I'd agree with Kobe that it'd be good especially for the kids to live for a while in Cameroon. It is so important for them to have a bond with their father's family and to know the culture where they come from, even if temporarily. I'd totally support that if it was with me
