I would like to thank everyone for watching this interview and I hope you've found it interesting! I hardly ever talk on camera without a script, so this was one of the rare occasions! :) I'm so excited to be publishing the video interviewing Throp on my channel soon and I hope you would love it as well! @Throp Thank you so much for inviting me! It was a great pleasure to be your guest and even a greater pleasure meeting you in person and talking off camera as well! This collab has been long overdue and I'm so happy we've found the time to do it!

I am a Jamaican who have met Irina multiple times. I have also met other Jamaicans who are FRIENDS of hers. So our views of her and how she views Jamaica and its people are based on that. Can you say the same about ever meeting her and her Jamaican friends, or are YOU just basing your OPINION on "here say", or worse yet, PREJUDICE? Of course, videos she posts of Jamaica and its people ALSO shape my views. Have you ever heard the story about the Lion and the Donkey (Ass)? I will just leave this "discussion" with that question. Btw, I am the Lion in this story

What I like about Ms. Irie is her ability to take some of the most boring industries, such as government administration, and bureaucracy’s and make them into the most exciting stories you’d want to hear. Her interview with Companies Office of Jamaica is a great example of how she signs this very bright light. I think her intelligence, and creativity is off the charts.

Most of you Jamaicans are so NAUSEATING!!! Ofcourse Irie's experience and interpretation of Jamaica is going to be POSITIVE!!! She's never known what it's like to go to bed without food....to be treated like second class citizen in Jamaica based on classism and stereotyping. The DIRTY disgusting leaders and bad economy does NOT impact her or her family, neither does it impact Throp thanks to his FATHER laying a good foundation. They are both on the other side of the fence when it comes to the REAL Jamaica. Irena's mission is to DIPLOMATICALLY makes a name for herself as the endearing Ukrainian who LOVES Jamaica and ALL things Jamaican, exploiting the niave nature of Jamaicans, while marketing Jamaica to others who can AFFORD to come to Jamaica and live like Kings and Queens. Jamaica is HELL to MOST regular citizens, primarily those who are dark skinned and at or below the poverty line. Most Jamaicans would like to visit ALL the places she's in awe about visiting, but cannot rub two pennies together to take such a local trip. This sh!t is condescending as f@vk. Ofcourse it's easy to play on Jamaicans PATRIOTISM and for Throp and her to collobarate to grow both channels. Jamaica's issue runs deeper. The woman has time on her hands to do leisurely things, she's no more talented than regular Jamaicans, most are simply too busy struggling to eat, so they can't even focus to do a decent video that requires research and thinking. Pathetic all the way around.

I agree with you 💯. Jamaicans are the only people I see bashing their country at home abroad and online. And even bashing their country with foreigners. It's so so sad. There's so much Jamaican KZreadrs choose only negative news to depicting Jamaica in a bad way, while other countries people and KZreadrs you will never heard them bashing their country. @@charmainethompson1319 Like Irie said, a lot of Jamaicans think western North American or English living is the best way of life like Irina said and I believe wee are taught to hate this country. A lot of things we do, is thanks to colonialism and racism. I think the negatives can be highlighted but it should be done in a way that offers solutions and empowers people to change. Too much crime KZreadrs treat crime like entertainment. I notice when Americans report on crime, they never devalue their country as a whole, just the criminals. And Jamaicans think crime is just a government problem to fix when they do things that aid and abet criminals on a daily basis. I can't stand our people sometimes.

GREAT POINT about the public beaches. We can't wait for the government to clean up...but we can get together and do it ourselves. We can take an example from Rwanda for example - the citizens of the country get together on a designated public holiday for street cleanup. The president does it too (our government officials won't do that) but we can do it ourselves.

What a great interview. I've been waiting for this episode for quite some time. I remember when I first considered relocating to Jamaica, I struggled to find any resources that provided insight into day-to-day life on the island. However, Irina's channel was very informative in my decision making process. This was particularly helpful in dispelling the media's portrayal of crime and violence in Jamaica, as well as giving viewers an idea about the cost of living and how things work in the island. It's now been more than a year since I moved here, and I'm grateful for that. One of the best channels that highlight Jamaica 🇯🇲 🇯🇲 🇯🇲

The Jamaican Government knows Irina very well especially the people at Jamaica's Tourist Board. When the war in Ukraine started, they asked her to assist with getting some of the Jamaican Students out. Irina and her Family are really good down to earth people. 🙂

@@Throp I am from St. Mary, near Ocho Rios, these beaches are all taken over and considered all private. In Barbados, Dominica and St Lucia for example, all beaches are free and accessible to the all citizens. I visited Sands, St Lucia, the citizens of St Lucia had access to all the beaches with the three Sandals properties. Try going over to the hotels area where the hotels are in Ochi, you will see!

It's quite interesting that she is received with open hands in Jamaica, but the black people and students fleeing for their lives in the Ukraine were treated like second - and third class citizens. They were treated subhuman!🙄😡😤🤬🤷🏾‍♀️😎

Great show. Thank Irie for explaining about the Beach Access. This was very important to me because when I first read about it some months ago, I was very upset thinking that rich people were privatizing the beaches. Thanks again for the explanation.

So true. And her point about the FREE PUBLIC Beaches is so on point. When my wife, 7-year old and I were in Jamaica last year, we took a walk up to the "beach" by Calypso Villa. Of course, it was deserted, but the road was covered with trash (so much plastic) and the beach needed "care". There was a "ruin" building there, which looks like it used to be a location for Beach Goers to use. But this Beach had SO MUCH POTENTIAL. My son loved it....but it shows one of those open public beaches that goes unused because it is not being cared for....so sad to see...

Are you SLOW???;My heavens you people know how to embarrass black people. What has she said that change the fact that the beaches are FACTUALLY being privatized more and more? You know, I think it is God will that black people were slaves and most still are. They only time they function is when they are being told what to do. ...or what to think.

Paying a small fee to enter a beach so that you can fully enjoy it because there’s visible cleaning maintenance is fine by me. Glad they mentioned the point that the free beaches are there but very few go to the popular one because it’s dirty!!! No one wants to go to a dirty beach. Even I check resorts to see if there’s seaweed at that beach shore line or other plant life greenery because it’s not a nice feeling to swim in.

Ive been saying this for so long. The cleanliness of the public beaches in Jamaica must be maintained. What is the point of free and dirty? I dont understand what most Jamaicans are complaining about. Oh...just so negative!
