The man is angry as the name “AngrySnowboarder” implies. But he also promotes a snowboard charity, buys snowboards and gear with his own money to give away, and Instacarted food to anyone who asked when Covid was full lock down and people had no means for meals at the time. I think he also made Tommy Bennet lasagna and brought it to him when he was recovering from surgery. Angry indeed. But just as wholesome as any of us. 👍🏽

Yes, the number of head injury is still the almost the same. But since 2003 there is 10 times if not more people on the hill. So maybe the numbers match, but not the percentage.

One thing I don't get around snowboarding is ageism. Yes, it's a sport and your ability depends on your physics which depends on your age. But I'm fed up with videos like : "Look, this man continues/tries snowboarding at his 75". Or: "OMG, look, it's 2 month baby already doing quads." If you're on the same mountain with me this day - I treat you like equal. Whether you're beginner, pro, old, young, embryo, rich, poor, you have the fanciest snowboard - I don't focking care. You're having fun - I'm having fun - we altogether having fun.

As for the gatekeeping thing...Angry has some points. Buckhouse pushes amazon brand nonsense, which does nothing for local shops and core brands. SBP a few years back posted some pretty bad backcountry advice.

The main reason Angry Snowboarder didn’t like Buckhouse is because he peddles cheap Amazon gear to a crowd that doesn’t know any better. There is a balance of cost and quality, but Buckhouse’s gear doesn’t deliver on the promises made. Combo that with Buckhouse bestowing himself the title of pro and having weird bro camps and there are a few reasons to not be a fan of his.

Buckhouse and Angry both in the comments section yikes, I see what people are referring to in regards to toxicity in the online snowboard community... Probably enough of a headache and time pull to read your own comments you really need to read others? What good does that do you, and why would you even care what someone behind a screen that doesn't know you thinks. Just don't respond. Part of being a KZreadr is understanding you're a public figure and are going to take criticism, a lot of it might be unwarranted, but comes with the territory, ignore it and move on. Its starting to look like a fight you'd see between middle schoolers. You guys aren't good enough actors to start a drama show, stick to making snowboard content. Take in the good criticism, adjust, make better content, and ignore the noise

Honestly I had the same doubts about step on bindings as you, until I impulsively decided to buy them. The first day I went riding with them it didn’t even cross my mind that I was using anything other than normal.

People who buy boards each year and people who don't like pow are the biggest question marks , for me anyways.

Angry Snowboarder is from the same area and they ride some of the same mountains. He must have heard something about him, and is letting that work influence him. The guy has a shirt that says”Just because we both snowboard doesn’t mean we’re going to be friends”. I’m the different if you snowboard we mite just become friends

Honestly, I don’t watch AngrySnowboarders videos because of his wonderful personality, I watch because that man has an encyclopaedic knowledge of snowboarding gear, so far unmatched by any other snowboarding KZread channel. I don’t care he considers me “someone who snowboards” because I don’t have 100+ days under my belt. He’s helped me as a beginner to arm myself with enough knowledge and understanding of snowboarding gear to ensure I don’t get sucked into the marketing machine and buy shitty gear. So I’ll take his grumpiness all day long to be able to tap into that knowledge. He’ll also call out ANY brand for making a crap product. I’d rather have that honesty than a paid for opinion wrapped in a cheery persona.

I’m so fucking stoned right now and I’ll I gotta say is I love every single one of you guys. Snowboard or ski we all shred the same snow. 🙌❤️

As a powder snowboarder for 23 years and a water skier for 30 years I got to tell you the feeling you so much love in powder as you say in the video, can only be replicated in water sports by slalom single water ski. If you once make a turn on a flat day with a water ski and you throw the same wave you throw on a hardcore powder day you will be hooked for life so if you ever get a chance give it a try. It is 1000 times closer to snowboard powder riding than wakeboarding is I guarantee you that.

I totally agree with reverse camber but was convinced by a shop assistant to buy one years ago, but it just so happened that the first time out it snowed loads so didn't notice how bad it was until I got it on hard hard pack and it sucked,so sold it straight after.

Great video Ed! Some thoughts/confessions...1. I ride and LOVE Burton Step Ons. 2. The quiver concept is way overdone. At most three boards (aggressive/charger/carver, softer freestyle, powder board). 3. Helmets - I used to care about others wearing them, but I stopped. Why should I care about someone else's health more than them? Besides, the more people who get injured, the emptier the terrain for me to ride!

I ski but the reason I sometimes don’t like to ride the pow is because I’ve got stuck in it and couldn’t get my skis back on and had to wait 30 minutes for someone to help me. Which was a bit scary and that’s why I’ve stayed away for a little while.

I'm a re-born shredder in my late 30s, pretty much exclusively board in the midwest. With the frequent, short runs, Flow bindings have been a game changer for me. Not quite sure if they have as much stigma as step-ins, but I have to say I would have probably stayed "retired" (riding 0-2x per year) without the ease and quickness with Flows.
