I stopped washing my face with cleanser in the morning and started just using a hydrating toner on a cotton pad to remove the "overnight" oil. This has hugely reduced the amount of breakouts I get, especially the amount of those deep, painful pimples. I've realised that my skin likes when I don't fuss around with it too much.

The more important to cure acne is to change your diet by eating less sugar and fats and eating more healthy..it's not about the products only..it starts from the inside❤

  • @BeautyWithin

You are so right, and you totally get it!! I think one of the biggest factors that contribute to acne and breakouts is diet and what we actually put into our bodies, because everything that we apply on top is just trying to cure what's already happened. So if we can control that before anything comes out, then that's even better! Thanks so much for sharing! - Fel 🤓🙌

Simple Moisturizing Face Wash has CHANGED my skin, even though I have oily skin and live on a hot climate. I use it once in morning and before bed, along with La Roche Posey SPF 30 during the day and Clindoxyl Control 5% by Stiefel Labs overnight (recommended by dermatologists). And that's it, only 3 products but I have the best skin of my life after suffering from acne for YEARS and it keeps improving every day. I've also started working out, cleaning my diet and washing my face with cold water only! Help this helps some of y'all!

I have had severe acne and oily skin since grade 4 and I’ve tried almost every cleanser, product, mask, and chemicals from the dermatologist that would just burn my skin. Nothing worked, I kept getting deep cyst, painful pimples, and blackheads. But one day I saw a video of a girl who just stopped washing her face with cleanser and just used a towel with water. So me being desperate I was willing to try anything so I’ve completely cut face washes and cleansers out. I still get acne of course because I’m a teenager but I no longer get cyst and big pimples my acne is very minute. This may not work for other people but it worked for me!

Basically what I want to make clear, is that they constantly say that if you have dry skin not to use products with alcohol in it, and if you have oily/combination skin and are prone to acne you should use 'harsher' ingredients in products (higher levels in exfoliants etc), well that is NOT true!! Yes stay away from alcohol in skincare if you have dry skin but this ALSO applies to oily, combo, sensitive and acne-prone skin (i.e. all skin types!) It's never okay to put alcohol on your skin 'cause it's hella aggressive. I've been trying to clear my skin for years and I've finally come to a skincare routine that brings my forehead acne to rest. The main thing I've learned about skincare is that you are not to be in a battle AGAINST your skin, but team up WITH your skin. Your skin, even in you have acne, should be treated with love and gentleness. I use products that are non-fragranced, non-coloured and contain no alcohol. Take care of your skin with love, do not punish it for its acne by using products with aggressive ingredients because that will irritate your skin and cause only more acne. Brands that really helped me are brands like Lush & Mario Badescu & (do check their labels as some of their products do contain alcohol) & Simple & Danish Skincare International (they have a very informative and experienced website). You do not need a thousand-step skincare routine to have pretty skin. The basics of a routine is face wash, moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning, and face wash (do take off your makeup first), toner and moisturizer. It's always all right to exfoliate your skin, but preferably do not use physical exfoliants such as scrubs, like Lush's ocean salt (also soaked in alcohol and very abrasive) and Frank Body's creamy face scrub (which is not gentle at all). Masks usually have a temporal effect and never did much for my skin. You better just stick to your daily skincare routine. All in all, what I want to say is that, yes, you should moisturize and treat dry skin, but please if you have oily or acne-prone skin, do moisturize and treat your skin too. It will help way more than using all kinds of abrasive and drying products to 'kill bacteria" and "deep cleanse" (which is scientifically not even possible). Yes drinking water and not picking at your skin helps. Love your skin and it will love you back. Thanks for hearing me out, bye.

For anyone looking for cheaper skincare products that actually work I would recommend lush and the ordinary. Both have really done wonders for my skin and my sisters( we both have combo skin). Lush skincare ranges from $11-18 but it usually lasts about 3-4 months. And the ordinary products go as low as $5. When I was younger I wasted a lot of money on neutrogena and clean and clear products that did nothing for my face but dry it out. So I was very grateful to find great affordable brands. My favorite products at lush are angels on bare skin and let the good times roll. Both of them are great at exfoliating but help your face feel hydrated in the process. Tea tree oil never really worked for me. But I started using rose hip seed oil from the ordinary and it helps my skin feel softer and smoother. My sister started using some of their products for hyper pigmentation and they have helped her out a lot. The ordinary also posts a skincare regimen for hyper pigmentation that you can follow. Other than that a good cleanser is cetaphil. But the one that is for Normal to oily skin. And lastly using thayers witzel hazel is also a very affordable way to tone your skin.

angelic soul angelic soul Yeah I guess it just depends on the product and your skin because I really like the ordinarys Alpha Arbutin. I tried their niacinamide which made me breakout initially but I stuck with it for a few days and I think it’s starting to get better. I do like how the ordinary items are more reasonably priced so I don’t feel too bad trying out their different products.

K boto cleansing your face twice a day is more recommended for oily skin! If your skin is normal or dry (especially dry) washing it only once is the best. It’s also important to use good cleansers that aren’t too striping of the skin because after workouts and sweating you need to wash your face :)

i don't wear makeup, more like i can't. i always had a bad relationship with makeup. my skin would get itchy and would feel like i'm burning. i sadly neglected my skin during my teen years and now I'm staring to care for it. I've made many mistakes with simple cleaning habits, not realizing when a product is hurting you and how costly buying the wrong product can do and it honestly would discourage me from caring for my skin. things i do now is researching on ingredients and taking pics of products that are working for me because sometimes the product i love are no longer available at the store or discontinue. i try to match out the ingredients using the picture i have. another thing I try to see is if it's available in a smaller size/travel size so i can test it out, Safeway and Walmart have travel size products not sure of others. some beauty stores (Korean beauty stores) do give out sample products when you spend a certain amount/buy a certain product, they usually don't handover random samples, they give you similar times to what your purchase is. some of these range by what the season is, samples of: sunscreen, cleansing creams, face creams, eye creams, mist toners, serums, sleep creams,. don't be afraid to ask if you can see what other samples they have, so you can switch out the ones they gave you. my husband was able to help me with my skin, he's oily and I'm dry skin, he advised me to use face masks that are rice, snail and cucumber. and one thing i noticed is be careful when using a item with the product, in other words, I used a microfiber facial cleaner and that thing break me out. it gave me a nasty pimple the side of my nose and how i have a scar there, when i got it I thought just a pimple it'll go away but it didn't and it grew and it gave me terrible headaches. the pimple was warm and very sensitive to touch. i wasn't trying to blaming the item so i tried it again but on a small arm area and it did the same damage. as of lately I've been using a flat silicone scrubber and its helping a lot. you want an item that will dry off well and i don't leave it in the bathroom, i leave it to dry in my room, i keep most my my face products in my room.

omottoke hey girl! So I noticed you said whenever you would put on makeup, it would burn your skin or make it itchy? You might be allergic to the typical foundations/makeup that are sold in stores. I had the same reaction and thought “ok so now I can’t wear makeup at all?” I KZreadd it and researched it and turns out I’m actually allergic to the typical ingredients found in the common foundations ex: mica, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and all those other typical chemicals found in makeup. I found a brand called Omiana which is a natural makeup brand specifically made for allergies like mine. I tried the foundation and FELL IN LOVE. No burning, no reaction. Nothing. It’s a bit pricy and you can only order online but it’s honestly amazing. Made me feel like I wasn’t alone!

Salicylic Acid is a chemical exfoliant that is best applied in a wash form. Can it be used with a facial cleaning tool like Clarisonic or Luna?

Rinsing in the shower I do condition and rinse it out last after I'm done washing my body I just turn my hair upside down and I bend forward in the shower so the conditioner never touches the rest of me. I also always do a final body rinse just to make sure all the soaps are gone

You two are amazeballs! And adorable! Going to try loads of your suggestions. Can you do a video on Darphin products? I’ve been using them for years but still have large pores but less redness 🎉. My cheapo Queen Anne’s mint mask helps shrink them for a day. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

    10. Using harsh facial cleansing brushes constantly or daily. Usually facial cleansing brushes will strip your skin barrier. Sometimes the warmth from your fingers is enough but instead of the harsh brushes the silicone one would be a much better option

That is true. I thought I am the only one who notice that. It's kinda harsh on the skin tho. I don't like cleasing my face with brushes daily. Maybe 1 or 2 times a week.

A good cleanser that I’ve found (I have medium to oily skin) is The Body Shop tea tree foaming cleanser. It really helps my skin absorb the moisturiser.
