Perhaps. But from my view standpoint it would rather call it by a simple name, than saying “I am looking for them clothes styled as a way normal, well adjusted adult…”, I would feel like instead of buying new tyres, I pop somewhere asking for a black, round shaped, rubber made, spinning vehicle part that’s attached to a metal made, again round shaped, spinning part…and so on… I guess you get the idea. It’s about making something recognisable, easy to refer to.

Some excellent stuff here. Also some inaccuracies. (1) Penny loafers (w/ strap) are NOT Venetian loafers (no strap). (2) Khakis ARE a kind of pant (casual, rugged, double stitched seams, military origin) and are different from chinos (dressier w/ single stitch seams). (3) It's a SPORT jacket (business casual), not a sportS jacket (athletic gear). Everything else was great though.

Guess I am ahead of the curve in dressing like old money. I've worn penny loafer for years. And no I've never put a dime in the slot. I own two dark blue blazers which I wear the heck out of and I frequently pair them with khaki chinos. When I fly, I pair the blazer with dark grey trousers. I do have a few oxford button down shirts from Brooks Brothers but most of my shirts have French cuffs. I guess I step down a bit for a watch. I wear either a Bulova dive watch or a Bulova Accutron. Both are very accurate and very smart looking time pieces. Thanks for all you do keep us guys dapper.

Interesting discussion. I have been learning more in the last five years watching videos, reading books and forum posts. Of course, I look at magazines. Expensive watches need regular maintenance. The cost is high. I purchased a $100 quartz tank watch with a leather band. In movies, I have seen male characters wearing a white terry cloth robe. I purchased one for myself. There is a reason they wore them with a scarf or a towel around their necks. Wax jackets? I have heard that they may have an oder. I would not want one in my closet, especially touching some wool item also hanging in that closet. I always liked the idea of brass buttons on a blazer. That seems to have run its course and in many places bright brass has been replaced, like you suggested, with other types of buttons. One idea I have recently tried is monochrome. A linen blazer, for instance, worn with linen trousers in a very similar color to the linen blazer. Seems kind of European but it can be an interesting combination. I have worn pinpoint oxfords for years, not necessarily with button down collars. I always prefer point collars but I do have both. Pique polo's are a nice item to wear, with or without a blazer. Over the years, we all refine our style and clothing choices. BTW, loafers never wanted to stay on my feet properly. I need a tightness around the ankles. Laces do that for me but at least a three eyelet In a Sperry boat shoe. Not really appropriate shoes for someone stuck on land in the Midwest. Been there, done that. Thank you for these videos. You inspire those that want to learn more.

I got a pair of baby-blue canvas Ralph Lauren Venetian loafers for summer or tropical vacation; a unique grab I've never seen on anyone else's feet and has garnered quite a few compliments. I've also got plain (no strap, no tassles, etc), brown leather Ralph Lauren loafers. But, they don't attract as much attention. There're a few Polo Oxford shirts in my closet. Haven't worn them for years, though. I find they don't tuck into my pants neatly; they always puff out at the back. There's a Polo navy blazer there, too. It I haven't worn in ages, either, entirely because it's got brass buttons on it and those are a) pretty '90s, b) not very casual, and c) I prefer silver accessories (belt buckle, tie clip, etc).

I'll provide a review of Anson belts, at least regarding the straps. They seem to wear out quickly on the top edge where it rubs the belt loops. Especially the back loops. I only wear jeans on the weekend and with the wider straps, so I can't attest to the straps' resistance to wear if you wear jeans often. I'd imagine that the wear would be more severe as there's only one middle loop. The straps don't do the curling thing, at least as far as I've noticed.

Best thing about a button-down is the collar don't leave the jacket without tie 😅 Best thing about old money style is.... Nobody knows it, Nobody cares. That was 100+ years ago and you can do it for your own fetish only👍 And not to forget real old money knows each other ! And the Barbour jackets,... old money will always buy the original.... Like when you want a Colt© you want a Colt© not an italian copy, or? Watches.... only very few people take a look at your watch or have knowledge.... You can get away with the crappy Daniel Wellington 😂 that looks classic. So in a nutshell, that's all well and good, but if no one sees it but you, it's irrelevant
