So today I decided to do a nice long wildlife photography walk through the Yorkshire Dales after spending some time looking through the Ordnance Survey maps I found myself a nice little route that took me along the river up onto the Moors and back down to the river Wharf.
My idea was to get up at 5:00 AM and get there around 6:30 in the morning however after getting up at 5:00 AM the weather forecast was for heavy rain not clearing until around 10:00 in the morning so I opted for a later start arriving at around 9:30 AM to start the walk with 9 miles to go I'm taking in the wildlife I knew I could not loiter for too long taking photographs.
The weather started off wet and windy, with the odd shower blowing through at times before clearing later in the afternoon as I stopped for lunch on top of Bardon Moor.
The morning had proved fruitful with sightings of dippers, grey wagtails, red kites grey herons, and the Kingfisher flying by, The wildlife was certainly around in this area I had chosen to take a walk and photograph the wildlife in.
As I walked over the Moors I was pleasantly surprised to see the red grouse and I managed to get some amazing photos even better I thought than I did last week when I went over to Ilkley Moor to photograph the red grouse.
, as I made my way down the more towards the river Wharf I decided to head straight to the car and spend the rest of the late afternoon and evening photographing on the edge of the river to try and capture the dippers and the red kites.
All in all it was a fantastic trip highly recommended and a place I will certainly be going back to visit more than once.

Cheers Russ, yeh great to meet you yesterday, not much at Leighton, but we did have a Bitten fly by the hide, other than that, just a grey heron for 3 hours , take care and perhaps bump into you again soon. 👍

This film was so enjoyable, so beautiful... loved the commentary. Thanks Ashley. Just subscribed, liked and hit the bell. Viewing from Western Australia and had to laugh at a subtitle 'waiting for bears' (I heard you say birds of course :)
