    Uhh #5 the question was divided by 2 and in the answer they changed it to divided by 1/2. 50% divided by 2 is definitely 25%. It would be multiplied by the reciprocal (1/2) not divided by it.

    For the last question here is my explanation to the answer: The first term is "1", which is read as "one 1". The second term is "11", which is read as "two 1s". The third term is "21", which is read as "one 2 and one 1". The fourth term is "1211", which is read as "one 1, one 2, and two 1s". The fifth term is "111221", which is read as "one 1, one 1, two 2s, and one 1". The sixth term is "312211", which is read as "three 1s, two 2s, and one 1". The pattern continues by describing the previous term in terms of how many of each digit it contains. For example, the seventh term would be "13112221", which is read as "one 3, one 1, two 3s, three 2s, and one 1". Therefore, the seventh term in the sequence is "13112221"...

  • @raleighkeagstrong6165

    @raleighkeagstrong6165

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@savannahbanana1124 No, it's not left to right. You have to use the order of operations. Brackets, then exponents, then multiplication or division (whichever comes first), and then addition or subtraction (whichever comes first). So it would be 1 + 0 + 1 which equals 2. Secondly, if you have four objects, 50% of that is two objects and 2 divided by 2 is 1, so technically you're right because 1 is 25% of 4. But if you look at it mathematically instead of materialistically, 50% is equal to one half. One half divided by 2 is the same as 1 times 2 divided by 2. That equals 1. The video explained it wrong, you're right, but your answer is also technically wrong.

According to his logic 1 is called ' one 1 ' that means - 11 11 is called ' two 1 ' that means - 21 21 is called ' one 2 one 1' that means - 1211 1211 is called ' one 1 one 2 two 1' that means - 111221 111221 is called ' three 1 two 2 one 1 ' that means - 312211 312211 is called ' one 3 one 1 two 2 two 1' that means - 13112221 13112221 is the right answer.

    The question What is half of 2 + 2 is ill formed and ambiguous. PEMDAS / BODMAS applies to math equations, but the rules and conventions of the English language also apply to word problems. People are not wrong to interpret this as 1/2 * (2 + 2). If you meant 1/2 * 2 + 2, then you should have said what is half of two, plus two using rules of English to hint at the precedence intended.

    I think there might be a small mistake here! The half of 2+2 is not 3. Let's break it down: 1. First, calculate 2+2 = 4 2. Then, find half of 4, which is 4 ÷ 2 = 2 So, the half of 2+2 is actually 2, not 3!

    I agree totally. Because Ik 50% is equal to 1/2 but idk where he got the other half from when the question clearly said 2. In math when you divide fractions your supposed to change the division sign to multiplication and change the fraction to the left of the equation to its recipricol. The presentation did Change 2 to 1/2 but didn’t change the division sign. Which leads to an incorrect answer. The answer is supposed to be 0.25 or 1/4. Ik its a lot lol, please correct me if I’m wrong.

    @BRIGHT SIDE, #3 I said three because I could tell it was the answer you were looking for, but when you say this it all depends on the way you annunciate. The way you said it, I would assume there is parenthesis around 2 + 2, otherwise, there should be a pause after the first two. I like math more than english too, but they sometimes work together.

    NO, PEMDAS or the other one, DUMBAS says you do brackets first then multiply and devide then add and subtract. So, 1x0 = 0 THEN you ADD that to the first 1 and then add the last 1 for a total of 2. But you do ignore the first two lines because they are not mathematically connected to each other or the third line.

    The last problem at the end of the video is called "Look-and-Say Sequence" To generate a number of a sequence from a previous number, read off the digits of the previous number, counting the number of digits in groups of the same digit. For example: 1 is read off as "one 1" or 11. 11 is read off as "two 1s" or 21. 21 is read off as "one 2, then one 1" or 1211. And so on. So the next number of the problem is "one 3, one 1, two 2s, two 1s" or 13112221. Fun fact: If you start with 22, it will stay itself forever. 22 is read off as "two 2s" or 22.

That means half of the apple divided by 2=simple,it's a quarter. Ok another example with 2 apples. I've two apples in my hand. It's 50%=1 apple. 1 apple divided by 2 equals "half apple" So it's clear.we took two apples ended with a half of apple, means 25%. Like if you get me.

    jeffrin n Number 5 is right The answer is 1. 2= 2/1 50% = 1/2 1. 2 _. _ 2. 1 Remember the process would be multiplying across getting 2/2 equaling 1. E/ i multiply across ( numerator × numerator [ 1×2] and denominator × denominator [ 2×1]) Otherwise there is the extra step of changing signs. To change divide to multiply you simply flip the fraction. So 1/2 ÷ 2/1 is the same as 1/2 × 1/2. 1/2 × 1/2 = 1.

    Why would you ask "What is 50% divided by 2?" and then do 50% divided by a half instead to get your answer? Yes 50% divided by a half is one because dividing by a half is the same as multiplying by 2 and 100%=1, but you didn't say "divided by a half" you explicitly said "divided by two". So why are we dividing by a half instead? Did the team of writers even proof read their own videos? Very unprofessional.

It means half of something but not equal to the number 1/2. Only 50% of 1 = 1/2. [50% of 100 = number 50]. So, when 50% is divided by 2, it will be 25% [and not the number 25].

    #5 is wrong. Let's just say we reduced 50/100 (50%) to 1/2. So after that, you don't divide after you flip the fraction 2/1 to 1/2.... you multiply, and you get 1/4. and if we didnt reduce, we would have gotten 25/100 (25%) or 1/4. It's simple math dude..

    #5, The question was 50% divided by 2. You are correct, 50% is equal to 1/2. However, you divided 1/2 by 1/2 instead of dividing it by 2. So instead, the question would be written as 1/2 divided by 2 or 1/2 divided by 2/1. Then you would “keep, switch, flip” and it would be 1/2 multiplied by 1/2. Then you would get 1/4, which is equal to 25%. Edit: I fixed some grammar mistakes!

    Number 3 is utterly misleading. The way the question is phrased, there is nothing separating the first 2 from the other 2. When you don't write the equation in mathematical expression is leaves room for interruption. (2/2)+2=3 but (2+2)/2=2. The the fact that 2+2 is the only part of the question written numerically implies that the expression is in parenthesis or otherwise grouped. This is not a riddle; it is a misleading question. -Sincerely IB Pre-Calculus Student and HL Math Student
