😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

Before EVs, what made the difference was the engine of a particular maker, now of course is about batteries performance, and they are all the same, about 5kg to produce 1kw power, and any makers that wants a longer range all it has to do is to increase the size of the battery, no extra technology needed, everything else is just gimmicks.

Out of date. No more Fires (in fact, even pro rata, ICE cars are more flammable). Charge times 20-80% down to 20 min - coffee and croissant. Battery history now shows only 5-10% degradation per 100,000 miles, so used EVs will increase in price. Most (Tesla) EVs are extremely reliable, better than ICE. Now you're up to date.

  • @Crosshair84

@@jgarbo3541 Yea no. The ICE cars that catch fire tend to be cars that are over 10 years old. EVs that catch fire tend to only be a few years old. On top of this, ICE cars are relatively easy to extinguish. EV fires are much more difficult. Most public chargers don't have the grid connection to charge that fast. If they do, you're going to be paying more than gasoline to put that sort of load on the grid. My one car has 330,000 miles on it and the range is basically identical to when it was new. EV range even when brand new remains a significant problem. An EV with only 80% of the range as new is going to be unsellable, especially given the high insurance costs.

I agree, I think for the most part people who wanted an EV, because an EV made sense for them, bought one. Certainly there are people who want an EV but simply can’t afford them or an EV isn t conducive to their lifestyle. I highly doubt EVs sales will pass ICE by 2028. For one we don’t even have the infrastructure to support that many EVs. Secondly, the world’s largest automaker (Toyota) doesn’t even want to sell EVs. Insurance rates are already really high for EVs…the fewer ICE cars to offset EVs means car insurance rates on EVs will likely climb higher and higher. Probably the same will be true for homeowners insurance. Then there is the question of EV resale value. Batteries should last a long time but it comes down to buyer perception. If people think they will need to replace a 15k battery, they will calculate that into how much they are willing to spend on a used EV. Huge factor is the price of gas. If it gets really high this will no doubt help EV sales. If it goes down well it will kill EV sales.

So I need a car that can go 450 km rain, snow, cold and hot. I have seen even EV fan boys calling out these companies who sell these cars for the battery deteriorating in all of these conditions and after two years your 450 km range is down to less than 80% available. Turn on your heater or your air conditioner then your range disappears like scalded cat. Then in the case of the Nissan Leaf if you own one from before 2017 Nissan does not support a replacement battery or a rebuilt battery. If your battery goes out you now own a brick in your driveway that has no real resale value. Great concept for the motoring public disposable expensive cars that you can not sell. No thanks.

EVs should have been sold as an alternative to a select few who have plenty of time, money and only do a few local trips. They should have never been pushed out to everyone as a replacement to ICE as the technology and whole concept is flawed. The mugs that bought will regret their choice but will never admit their mistake. Stick to ICE as for now it's the only one that performs and if have to switch then maybe maybe hybrid..

  • @MarkRVillano

With abundant fossil fuel resources available, an electrical grid that's incapable of sustaining a massive influx of EV's, along with high prices, limited range, and questionable reliability (especially in colder climes) IMHO, manufactures going all-in on this trend are making a huge mistake. What we're also beginning to see is that rather than purchasing another EV, a significant portion of early adopters are now trading them in for ICE vehicles. Toyota has taken a well reasoned approach to this issue, and has wisely decided that the Hybrid middle ground is the place to be.

Per Kelly Blue book 2024 Q1 BEV sales increased 11% from Q1 2023. Sales of BEV in the US are much lower than the rest of the world, but sales are still growing. In the US Tesla had a major problem with the ramp up in the new refreshed Model 3 in their Fremont factory. Demand was there for the refreshed model but Tesla could not make them quickly enough. This slow ramp is running into Q2 as well. Without this issue overall BEV sales would have increased by 20% or more. The issue in the US is that Tesla are still doing very well as are Hyundai/Kia. Everyone else is struggling. Only 1 or 2 companies sell their BEV at a profit. You need scale to make a profit. Ford lost billions last year, only delivered 73,000 cars to dealerships and dealers can´t sell them on. GM has now stopped the Bolt production. Sell a hanfful of Hummers and their Blazer release was a disaster. Silverado delayed. Hyundai/ Kia will outsell Ford, GM and Stellantis BEV combined in 2024. Most OEMs are slowing down their BEV investments and switching to Hybrids. There are I think 12 states that have Zero Emission targets, mainly following California regulations which stop the sale of any ICE cars by 2035. The UK has similar laws and started this year with 22% of all new cars must be Zero emission and fines of $19k per car under the target. In the UK Zero emission means no hybrids.

Sorry to learn that most of the video‘s statements are deliberately misinterpreted by a couple of people who apparently have no idea about BVs. It is about the cars described, not about the power concept. Besides this, the descriptions of the EQE and EQS are funny to hear as it seems that they come from people who never saw or drove them. These are fantastic ars, but unfortunately also quite expensive ones. Also, the Mach e is a great car. Anyhow, BVs are the future,

Don't want to buy an EV ? Well you will soon enough when these auto makers declare bankruptcy, and governments will once again bail them out with your tax dollars. Then they slash the price of these vehicles and pocket all the money.

  • @michaeletzel4877

    @michaeletzel4877

If car companies are struggling and nearing bankruptcy it’s because no one wants to buy the electric cars that the government is forcing them to sell. Even if the government bails the companies out, they can’t force people to buy EV’s if the people don’t want them. Slashing prices won’t really affect purchasing rates either, because it’s not helping even now that prices have been crashing (compared to where they used to be). EV’s are fundamentally flawed, because they are dependent on a power grid that is already at its limit, and rational people understand that. These cars are impractical for most people, and no amount of government pressure can make people buy them.

Live less than 10 miles from 3 beautiful small towns in south Jersey and 29 miles to the Philly sport stadiums. The car has been produced for 10+ years with little changes so whatever bugs are long gone. Lease an i4 or model Y Tesla??? The Tesla is the better deal by a mile. All the i4’s on the lots are the 65K models, unless you order one. The Y with the 7,500 + 4K from Jersey AND no sales tax is half that.

it isn't that dealers Can't sell Ev's, it is that they do not to and start a profit losing trend by selling a low maintenance vehicle, that typically does not need a car dealer to coddle it with expensive repairs. there is Nothing a gas car can do that an electric propelled car cannot do better in the near future, and in time, gas will be obsolete. think about how much $$ you spend on emission controls alone for the gas engine.

40+ years in the auto repair business at the dealership level. We recently sold our Ford Flex (great car) and purchased a Chevy Bolt EUV. Best move we ever made when it comes to transportation. Our normal driving resulted in about $200/month being spent on gasoline plus all the other maintenance costs. Our Bolt is costing us about $50/month using a higher than actual $0.22/kWH rate with a light reduction in driving. Out first scheduled maintenance, paid for by GM, is at 7500 miles and consists of a tire rotation. Drives great, is extremely quiet, cheap to operate and I currently charge it using a Stage 1. If I need a faster charge rate I will do it at our local library on the Stage 2 charger in the parking lot. My experience makes all of your arguments moot. As for the environmental impact, it is not the perfect answer but it is much superior to the ICE powered vehicle.

Have you factored in the battery replacement/degradation expense of $0.20/mile? Because at 100K miles, you're looking down the barrel of a $20K battery replacement that's not under warranty. And get this, the replacement battery only comes with a one year warranty, not six or eight years like the original one.
