9.8 Ozonolysis of Alkynes | Organic Chemistry
Chad covers the ozonolysis of alkynes in this lesson. He starts with a review of the ozonolysis of alkenes as a basis for comparison. He then goes on to show how the ozonolysis leads to the production of two carboxylic acids for asymmetric internal alkynes or just one carboxylic acid for symmetrical internal alkynes. He then shows that ozonolysis of terminal alkynes produce one carboxylic acid and carbon dioxide (CO2).

I do have a question: if you have an alkyne and an alkene in the same molecule do both undergo cleavage or just one? Idk lol. How do I predict the products?
