I hit 87.3 yesterday on stock system, and ripping tires free when I try for the last quarter throttle. I put up a short vid yesterday, worlds fastest fireteam. Those tires will fail in the 70s, and the body catches too much deflection. Lower the chassis, and change to a 5th scale body, and get some grp or rear hoons. The hoons are heavier, so more heat to motor. I'm running 6s, and am geared between 106-120.

A big problem you'll have is keeping the front down I think, that and keeping the wheels on. My 1/5th scales really struggle with keeping tyres in one piece, torque wheelies also end up being a big issue too. Pretty sure that ESC fan is thermally regulated, I always bypass it and hard wire the fan into the BEC. Also I'm loving this series, I'm a speed nut myself and it's great to see you getting into it as well.

But you need to calibrate your controller, set your end points, & turn the brake punch down a little. Just a little. Other than that, the Fireteam with Castle system is a beast! a taller unbelted tire should gear you up, also running a castle esc without a castle motor will cause some weird issues ive found. and replace that spur they melt/warp when youre going that fast

Looks like it leaps forward violently from zero because it’s not a castle motor.. you’ll be running sensorless. My understanding of castle ESC’s is that the fan only kicks in when it hits a certain temp.

U need to calibration every time before you start and check the log for what full throttle comes out to u can adjust the punch but there way different when you start comparing to Hobbywing ESC especially throttle sensitivity

castle is great I run them in everything...8 Drag cars , 6 crawlers.. boats... airplanes but the esc fan doesn't come on until 120 degrees

Grabbed this when Arrma put it on sale for $399. I mean just fantastic of Arrma and Horizon when they do this for their fans. Just amazing price drop sales on their great vehicles unlike dumb Traxxas that gives free light kits on over priced vehicles….big whoop Traxxas….smh We just run and slide outs around on gravel and loose dirt. It’s just awesome!

On my caslte esc the little shild push down on mine and fan could not spin check it.

So that’s a starting point! But something seems weird already at this point 🤔 56mph on 8s with stock kraton spur and 16 tooth pinion is too slow- even for just tapping full throttle! You should check data and settings carefully! ⚠️Please keep in mind that you run a 2200kv motor! To run this motor on 8s can create big thermal issues- therefore castle 1721 comes with a warning that says you should only do one full run at a time and then let it cool down. Your motor is very close to that 2400kv and also to handle with care🙋🏻‍♂️

Everyone trying for 100 off road! My PB off road with a TLR typhon is currently 52.5mph on 4S. Going to do a complete rebuild and replace worn parts and shoot for 100mph next spring.

Which Battery's do you use? I will buy an Fireteam and use an 8s Setup like my xmaxx. But i think my 4s lipos are too high

How did you fit those 4s batteries in that rig?

The fan will not be on at all times. I thought it was odd as well.

OK guy for a scale base enter into your interweb browser electric car tuning curve focus on the tesla ones and you can use that for a similar base tune for starters. Also add a bec larger than the 10 Amp, plus capacitors for the speed controller as the gear ratio will ultimately change, the energy draw from the castle esc will be significant to the motor once you have a good tune put fans on everything sounds funny right. Watch a video called setting up a formula e indy car. You don't need a dual motor sausage to hit a hundred your fire team will need some gorilla tape to cover up the window holes on that giant spoiler called the roof. Sorry rc guy on that one, I'm interested in attacking this off road challenge myself and posting my first ever video, though I would probably go Mojave as the belted katars should hold up to 100 mph run. Yet Earl has proven not all tires are created equal no matter how well they are glued and the sausage ripped apart some super tires from jegs or summit racing. Good running rc guy the castle system is good just remember with every spur and pinion change beyond 2 teeth you should adjust the curve on the castle system to prevent overheating. Have fun remember the data logger is good but better with castle link 😀 also are you running the sensor wire for the castle system. Their is a reason castle sells pinions of ever pitch and cut, the speed controllers and motors are designed around those green little gears castle keeps a secret from everyday rippers. 😀

What do you need to do to make this right bash on 8S reliably without frying stuff? Any tips on upgrades for an 8s fire team basher? Thanks

@@thepatternforms859 front wheel bearings, rear ring and pinion, axle pins and cups. The RC wasn't designed for 8s. If it's your only RC and you have bags of cash laying around then just know what your asking of the RC. Similar to adding nitrous, turbo or super charger to a vehicle. Everything around it will suffer unless you can source every component that will snowball fail around it.
