I’m so glad I found this video! This was CLUTCH in trying to get the remote synced to the garage. Especially, when you don’t have the original owner’s manual.

What is the difference between the 893MAX and the 893MAX-MC? I have a 875604-267MC opener , date code 9/2022 with a yellow learn button and would like to add a keychain remote but the “MC” is confusing. Does that mean the opener was made after 2021 or does it mean that I need special “MC” remotes? Thanks!

Hi @juicebox22a the 893MAX-MC is just an indication of the newest model (like shown in the video). The previous model (893MAX) worked just the same but the remote would blast out 3 different frequencies to the operator until it found the one the operator was using. They both worked the same it was just the initial programming that was slightly different. Either one will work with your operator. - Brian

My liftmaster door opener has a blue learn button but any of the remote that I try to program has instructions for that color, still can’t find how to set it up

Are you asking if you can program a remote and a keypad into the same garage door operator? If so, the answer is yes.

How does the 893MAX compare to the PPV3M remote? My HOA is trying to bilk me for $70 for a PPV3M saying it is required to operate my front and rear property gates.

They're not the same. The PPV3M can work with specific Liftmaster gate operator radio receivers using different codes and can also be used with Liftmaster Security+ residential garage door operators but the 893MAX remote can only work with the Liftmaster residential garage door operators & Security+2.0 radio receivers not the CAPXL & PPWR gate operator receivers. If you do a quick search on Google for the PPV3M Remote then you'll find a number of vendors that sell them in the $30-40 range.

If I don’t do this correctly will it mess up the other remotes that work? I don’t want to make things inoperable.

Most operators hold 6-8 remotes in the memory. If you don't have that many programmed into the operator then you'll be fine. Also, during the programming you'll need to press & release the Learn/Program button on the garage door operator. If you hold the Learn/Program button for 10 seconds or so then it will erase all the remotes in the memory so you don't want to hold the Learn/Program button just press & release it. If you watch the video then just follow along on how it's programmed and you should be fine.

Did it as you said, still didn't work! The middle button in the back you said to press that would light up on the other side didn't activate. It wasn't an actual button it was a part of the makeup of the controller! Help!

Sorry to hear that. I don't quite understand what you mean when you said "It wasn't an actual button...". There is a small Program Button in the center of the back of the remote. If you don't see an actual button then double check that you actually have an 893MAX remote and not an 893LM remote (which doesn't have a program button).

Liftmaster made a mistake when they gave that remote the 893LM part number because it's too close to 893MAX and can be confusing. The 893LM remote is not backwards compatible with multiple operators like the 893MAX remote. The 893LM remote is only compatible with Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Raynor, etc. openers that are Security+2.0 technology & have a Yellow circle Learn Button. To program the 893LM you press & release the Yellow Learn Button and then press your remote button. That's all there is to it. - Brian

If you are asking if you can add an 893MAX to an operator that has a 893LM programmed to it then the answer is yes. If you're asking if you can add an 893LM to an operator that has a 893MAX programmed to it then the answer is maybe. The 893LM remote is only compatible with Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Raynor openers made from 2011 to present day and have a Yellow Learn Button. Hope this answers your question.

You can program each button to different garage door operator (as long as the operator is compatible). Just follow the same instructions that were used on the 1st button to program the 2nd and 3rd buttons.

that didn't work for button 2 and 3 for the front gate
