The last time 88 Fingers Louie graced any stage with their presence was back in 1999. Over the past 10 years, there were countless requests for them to get back together and play again for their die-hard fans just one more time.
They decided to appease those fans and set up their reunion show at the Bottom Lounge in their home town of Chicago. On August 15, 2009, they played a 26-song set to a sold out crowd, and they captured the show, in it's entirety, in order to release this 79-minute live DVD, entitled "Lives."
Fans swarmed from all over the United States, Canada, England, and even Australia. Original guitarist, Dan Precision, recorded, mixed, and mastered this live DVD and truly captured the intense energy from both on and off the stage.
88 Fingers Louie felt that it was best for one of their own to perform these duties to seize the true sound that helped bring about their popularity.
The live lineup consisted of founding members Denis Buckley (vocals) and Dan Precision (guitars), as well as John Carroll (who was the last 88 drummer and played on "Back on the Streets" and the "Kid Dynamite Split"). John Contreras took up the bass to fill in for founding member Joe Principe (Rise Against). As a special treat to the fans, 88 Fingers Louie invited their second drummer, Glenn Porter (Alkaline Trio), to join them on stage for 4 songs.
It was truly and night to remember and now it will be accessible to all of those who couldn't take part in that part of 88 history.

I went 10 years with that thought.
I flew from Palmdale, Ca. to Chicago for this show. It was amazing. Now it's even funner being in the front row and on the DVD!!
I was at this show!! I'm up front on the left. Hands down the best show I've seen in years, I saw them at the Hoi Polloi in South Bend, IN back in 98(?) as well. Love these guys, I'll never forget that night. Thanks again to the band if your reading this.

Awesome upload! So nice to see these guys live like this. Never got to see 'em but loved their music. Such a great group of musicians and singer, one of my favorite punk bands for sure. The drummer kills it!

Sounds exactly like it did in the mid ninetees. Awesome band. Saw these with Funbug and Nottingham locals Bradworthy in 1996 ish UK.

They still play shows with the Back on the Street line up except for Joe who is still in Risa Against... This is one of my top 3 old school punk bands...

88 was introduced to me by an old high school buddy who owned Custodial Records. 88 and Good Riddance were two bands that influenced me to start my own band back in 1996. Wow, can't believe how great they sound. It would have been cool if Dom was there. Where can I get the DVD?
saw them at snow jam,quebec in 1997 or 98? then rimouski 1998???99? and quebec city 2010. REALLY NEED IT BACK! started listening to 88 since behind bars! im an oldy too! but it is still my shit!!!!! bla bla bla hehehhehe!

I think some of the people posting on this video need to listen to the 88 Fingers song Punk Rock Rulebook, there is no proper way to be punk Rise Against is just as punk as anyone else, any one who feels they need to lable someone as not being punk isn't punk themselves as they are claiming punk as an establishment that has rules.
