I think there’s a very important balance to be struck as a parent, between coddling your kid and being too harsh. Susie will find out eventually that her cooking is not good. Her father could prepare her for that truth by letting her know gently, from a person that she trusts has her best interests at heart.

I don't think Bob understands his father much. he seems like the old school tough dad.
