The Chrysler 5th Avenue was an amazing car, my mother had one back in 1990. Watching this video is like reliving them days, the 1990s was the golden years.
The Famous Grove Street Car
My Grandma had one back in 93. It was a 1987 model. She would let me drive it everytime I visited her. I was 14. She said if I got caught she would say I stole it. I miss that lady and that furry red interior of a car.
I’ll always remember my dad wanted the Fifth Avenue. Miss you dad.
These were FAR more reliable than Chrysler's front wheel drive lineup that came along after 1989. This was a very very good car.
My grandparents bought one brand new in 1984 and I had the honour of driving it home from the dealer. It was a fantastic car! I was 17 at the time, and as a car fanatic I was thrilled to drive a car this nice. As mentioned in the video, it had a button to turn on a rear amp which performed very well. This platform with the 318 was the choice of countless police, cabs and for good reason. Much like the Ford panther platform years later, this was reliable and durable.
If someone from Chrysler Corporation is watching this, please bring back the New Yorker. There are so many of us out there that would once again love to drive a really luxurious car with chrome, thickly padded seats and a stately hood ornament.
The Chrysler "Fifth Avenue" series cars were WORTH THEIR CONSIDERABLE weight in GOLD! THEY WERE A GREAT THROWBACK TO THE ALWAYS GREAT Pre 1975 MoPars!
I bought one for almost nothing because the timing chain had jumped. Was garage kept and well cared for. I spent a day replacing the timing chain and gears and drove it for a few years without any problems. Definitely great cars.
I still have the last car purchased by my dad . He purchased new ; a 1985 Chrysler Fifth Avenue !!!! Fabulous car !!!
I had an 1983 and loved the car.
I recently bought an '87 5th Avenue in that shape with 18,000 miles!! It drives like a dream. Mine is the only optional color they had, Gunmetal Blue Pearl Coat with the optional blue leather. I just love this car!!
I would love to see a brand new Chrysler have these exact plush leather seats and plush carpet in it! Maybe take a full size Chrysler and put those two things in it.
My grandmother had this exact car in this color and interior, never looked this good though! This brings back a lot of happy memories, and yes you could pile in a lot of people in it.
Wow that's in great shape! I just picked up a gold '87 Fifth Avenue. Such a nice floaty ride-like driving on a cloud :)
This is my dad's favourite car from his time living in the states, he even had it in white. I hope I can buy him one one day
I actually just got my hands on a 1984 Chrysler Fifth Ave. It needs a lot of TLC, but wow is it an amazing car. Super comfortable, smooth ride, quiet. Slowly but surely I’m getting it back to its former glory.
I grew up with this car. My mother and grandpa each had a 5th avenue. Both of them broke down when I was 16. It was a good car!
My parents had a brown 1982 with tan leather seats and sunroof. As a kid I loved that car.
Grandpa had one like that, The front seats were extremely comfortable.
