They are great wireless units still! I hope you're able to keep using them for many years to come. Thanks for the message Brian.
awesome video! still use the UR4D's on corporate gigs all the time!
You may have missed something. In '78 or '79 I worked with a national act that had Shure wireless for a few shows. Perhaps they were early Beta units.
I really like these units. The ones at the church where I work are 600 MHz and are being phased out shortly. On the bright side we are replacing them with several Axient units! Very much looking forward to the video on WWB!

@@clmedia6971 Doesn't seem so. Shure has a compatability chart and those don't look to be compatible. You can always email them and ask though.
a proper tribute to this workhorse!
Great video
Excellent video!! I know this is an analogue system, but how is it compare to a qlxd digital system in terms of the sound quality? Is it close to how the wired mic sound? TIA.
Great Video. Thank you

Thanks Scott, I appreciate the feedback!
I still have a system of UR4D in rotation, although I’ve largely moved on to ULXD for most of my rigs. Great dependable set of RF!

The ULXD are really nice, including Dante on those was a brilliant move.

Thanks Alex!
Retired my uhf-r rack too recently due to 600Mhz. I got all Axient now
I am looking to purchase 2 UR4D J5 Band transmitter. I have the receiver and need replacing sticks
My campus has these little guys everywhere, so we could just transfer equipment between venues without needing to rerack everything. It's going to be sad when we need to spec out a new venue and can't use the UR4D anymore. Robust, reliable, and easy to use. I haven't tried the new Axients yet, how do they look? Are they the same rugid and reliable workmanship that we expect from Shure?

The Axient stuff is pretty damn impressive. I'll be using them more in the coming weeks and months and I'm looking forward to seeing how they compare.
I think that uhf-r is better than QLXD.
Is a used U4D or UR4D outdated here in 2022 and beyond if it is in the 500Mhz range in America? Would it be best to go with a modern wireless mic system like a Sennheiser or Shure SLX/QLX pair?

@@DcSoundOp wow. Thank you sir! No one has dealt with this topic from what I’ve seen …
Question for the video creator or anyone who knows: did the Shure UR4D system or its software have EQ possibilities?
@DcSoundOp
3 жыл бұрын
Other than swapping capsules for a specific job, there was no EQ built into these systems. Thanks for the great question.

christothegreat1 I’d love to, just got to get a hold of a set. Every time I’ve used them has been on cross rental & they get sent back ASAP as they always seem to be needed on another show right away.
A friend of mine is looking to sell me these for $300 bucks. But it looks as if I won’t be able to use them long. Opinions? Oh, for mobile DJ’n
@DcSoundOp

Where are you located? If it's North America, I would not buy these, even for as little as $300, it's going to be frustrating to use them legally going forward.

Pmla Audio There is a lot going on in those, do you know exactly which parts you need already? Some will be standard off the shelf components you can get easily, but if you’re looking for shure parts or whole boards, it will be a different story. Let me know what you’ve got going on.

The name of the series is 'Axient Digital' ... that's what the AD in the model number stands for AD4D or AD4Q. Thanks for watching & reaching out, hope you enjoyed the video!
