I wish i still had my little '82 king cab. It was a trooper until the bitter end when it got T-Boned.

Yeah that's my fear. Fix something up or have something you are proud of and it gets demolished. Hope you get another one.

My first 720 was also an 82. It was a super reliable and economical daily driver for many years. My 82's demise came when I t-boned a young woman who pulled out in front of me from a driveway. I hit her with the brakes locked up at about 25 mph. Totaled my truck, pushed the front bumper right up to the front tires. I was unhurt except for hitting my right knee on the e-brake handle. The cops who came to the scene wrote her a ticket and determined she was at fault for the accident.

@@Cfchild1 sorry to hear that, but glad you are ok. I dread the day I lose my pickup. I just hope it's not because of my doing and not anyone else. I drive really defensively around here, but you never know what people will do. I had a person try to pass me as I was turning left in my Explorer. She was trying to beat me to my turn. Crazy 🤪

@@junkyyarddawg Yeah man, good advice to always drive defensively. Definitely my approach now that I'm older and having more life experience. I look forward to watching more episodes of your channel. Peace.

Be careful and check the thermostat that the parts store sells to you. Check the action of the valve opening and closing by hand making sure the valve does not hang or interfere before installing to vehicle. The NAPA thermostat that I installed in my 84 720 started sticking closed. When I removed the malfunctioning thermostat, I found that the construction was faulty. The spring loaded valve had some extra metal that hung up on the valve seat causing it not to open regardless of coolant temperature. I've found that new auto parts can be garbage. I'm also on my third "lifetime warranty" NAPA re-manufactured starter. At least they always exchange the failed ones for a new exchange unit.

Yeah I don't have heat at the moment. I believe the thermostat failed and it's staying open.
