Beautiful. I love her version. So much wisdom in her voice. I wish that some young people would not ridicule or make fun of older people. They think they're so behind the times and know nothing. If they only knew! I have told some of them, that IF they live long enough, they'll be old too and see how it feels to be looked at as a nuisance. She once was someone's little girl, she was a teenager, she was a young wife, she was young mother, she was in love, she had romance and passion, she had traveled. in 81 years she learned and experienced more than you can imagine, so respect and admire them. They might teach you a thing or 2.

Your comment truly touched my heart. My Dad's been gone 8 years now and my Mom a little less than 2. Lord willing, I'll be 60 this year but after my Mom passed I felt like an orphan. Doesn't matter what your age may be, you're always your parents little girl or boy. There are times when I need them so much! I really enjoyed this sweet lady's audition. But it sure made me miss my Mama even more!

That comment touched me as well. This lady is just amazing, so much emotion in her voice. I feel like her voice is relaxing too, as if you could wrap it around you like a warm blanket. Very comforting. I guess you never stop missing your mom and dad. I still have mine, luckily, but I dread the day they might be gone. You’re always mom and dad’s baby, even after they’re gone.

Martha Bell I’m 56 and I lost my dad about 19 years ago and my mom has been gone 4 years now. You commented exactly how I felt especially after my mom passed away. To be all alone in the world is a huge thing and even at my age can be a bit scary. I’m not fortunate to have a husband in my life. I divorced an abusive man after 24 years. If I meet someone great..if not that’s fine too. I have 2 wonderful adult kids...28 and 24 tomorrow.

My Mum was put in a suite in 'The Holly Cross Hospital' for observation for independent living. Mum had been falling down at times. I phoned her every night, from Thursday to Saturday, a province away. I told her I would phone her next day, two times, around 4pm and in the evening; we'd have good long talks. The next morning, Sunday, Mother's Day, at 10 AM, I had a phone call from friends to go for "cheap breakfast on the water" at a hotel. I agreed, hung up the phone, and took three steps into the living room when a message began to ring in my ears~"Phone Mum". I tried mentally to argue that "I would phone at 4 and in the afternoon"~but the message was insistent. Then I felt a knot in my stomach. It is said that the belly is our second brain and to listen to it. I returned to the phone and called the Hospital, verified who I was and that I wanted to speak to my Mum. The nurse said, "Just a minute, I'll get the doctor." Then I knew . . . The doctor came on line and after verifying my relationship, told me he was sorry to inform me that Mrs H had passed away. If I had not listened to the voice in my head and sense in my belly, I would not have been able to get a plane reservation home that day. I have not feared death since. I know there is continuance after death; (with or without a god).

Oh how we underestimate the elderly. U don't live to be old by being an idiot ... knowledge is learned BUT wisdom is obtained. No other group on the planet appreciates the simplicity of human kindness like the elderly. My "momaw" was one of my dearest friends in this life. I miss her every single day ... her sense of humor, her pearls of wisdom that helped me to navigate my life, her sewing, baking, craft making, crocheting, cooking, gardening and laughter that ALL came from a place of TRULY unconditional love has been irreplaceable in my life since she left us 20 years ago. I'll love her all of the days of my life ... and I look forward to seeing her in Heaven one day. May God ALWAYS bless & keep the elderly like the precious gifts they truly are. If your blessed to still have your grandparents, plz, don't forget to tell them how much you love & cherish them every chance you get. Like a beautiful day one day they'll fade away & you won't have them any longer.

Me too, and this sounds like a total buzz kill but I swear it's such a wonderful feeling - she reminds me of the people in the home that are now gone. I get this warm feeling, it's moving and it's happy but it sounds and looks like it's sad. But it's happy, honestly lol When I started there I was quite shy, quiet, I was happy just to listen and a few residents took me under their wing. She as a person, as a singer and as a speaker reminds me how awesome I felt when those residents accepted me and wanted to spend time with me. They helped shape me as a person today, I'm different than I was a year ago because of them and I've made some changes in my life - because of them. She reminds me of that, she makes me feel that again. I don't know why, but she just has this presence and watching this I feel like I'm with those people again. It's emotionally motivating. When you work in an environment like that you tell yourself, you know, not to get too attached because they're going to move whether that's just to a different home, long term care, or move on. You know how hard it's going to be not having them in your life if you get attached, but I can honestly say - it is just as hard not to get attached to them, not to make friends, not to adopt four more grandpas and six more grandmas lol They helped me realize what I wanted to do in life, it's something I've always known but they helped me realize I can do that, that its not just a life goal, it's not just a daily thing I set out to do, I can make it my life and make it a career and suddenly my life has direction again. She reminds me of that. She is now a source of emotional motivation for me, whenever I need it I know where to go now lol If anyone knows this wonderful woman, please do tell her this and please do thank her for me. She is spectacular, I could listen to her all day whether she's singing or just talking. Sometimes you meet people and you just want to sit down and hear their life story lol she's one of those people for me.

She truly can sing wonderfully considering her age. Held the tune and melody along. Her pitch stayed strong, and she even still managed to add some delicate flourishing with her vocal control. Which definitely gets harder to do as your muscles age. Just imagine how she sounded singing with a voice even just 20 years younger at 60. Even Elton John's voice has been a bit shaken by the test of time. There really is evident talent here. I'm so glad she found her chance to sing. Never too old to do what you love, or just whatever you dream of. Even if we don't see her winning any record deals or the like, I can't imagine how proud her family must be. Such a beautiful voice. What a blessing to hear her sing and yes, her husband would be so proud of her. Her family is certainly PROUD as well! I don't know her at all, but I am so GRATEFUL I had the privilege of hearing her sweet memory made through song. This was a few years back, but still remember her time on stage. Age does not stand in the way with what you want and can achieve and share. Don't put or let anyone put limits on oneself. You proved that!!! WAY TO GO!!!

At 61, I'll let y'all in on a secret- when we "seniors" sing, or dance, or whatever moves our souls, we magically become 19 (or our favorite age) again! For that brief moment we actually feel exactly the way we did in our prime, we are there. It strengthens my belief in a soul.

How wonderful. Not only does she have a lovely voice, but also the understanding, wisdom and maturity that can only come when one has experienced the ups and downs of life and a few regrets that have been allowed to marinate for a decade or two and looked back upon with peaceful acceptance. It comes through in the way she presented the song.

If you are not absolutely entranced and amazed by this woman I would have great doubts whether you have a heart and soul. She not only sang the song with great vocal control but told her story--a life of love and strength and yet made herself vulnerable and so very accessible. I have heard this song sung many times but have never been so moved. She is like a fine wine--incredible.

This woman is the pinnacle that all performers should strive to achieve. Her voice is absolutely wonderful, full of wisdom, experience, and the ups, and downs of life. This, in every way, was an absolutely stunning and perfect performance. I know everyone doesn't like these sort of songs and think it's "boring", but this woman's voice shows all of her emotional feeling without having to yell it, or express it through her actions. All she did was sing, and it was the most emotional and heartfelt performance I have ever seen.

Music has no age limit, status, race or religion. Music is coming from your heart, you don't need to have that higher, perfect pitch voice to hit those belting. your voice is enough to carry the story of the song, & it will make you a winner.

karleksang If her voice "cracks" it is meant to be. Angela Lansbury has song Beauty and the Beast live several times but the one I saw was not "recordperfect". Yet, the fact that she had that 'crack' in her voice at some point made that song even more beautiful and I prefer it so much more above the albumversion. It was perfect because it wasn't slippery smooth. If this lady would have that happen, it would probably give the same goosebumps.

Absolutely beautiful woman! Proof that talent and beauty never end on this earth. Now that she's on KZread her performance will be immortal long after she leaves this earth. And she is beautiful also since she isn't trying to look younger like some of the famous people I will not name. She is comfortable with herself. She commanded the stage and made the song hers. Notice how calm she seemed and even her perfect arm and hand movements. I can't believe we were watching an amateur. Very gracious and humble woman. Everyone is proud of her even those not knowing her in person. She was so humble.

He to me that death is part of life and you to accept that. I told him, that I know that, but I don’t have to like it. Yes, I miss them. Some days are harder than others. But my parents and grandparents raised a confident woman, and I am making it on my own. I do have a sister. We get together about once a month or so. I don’t know how old you are, but in my case I had to learn to do things that I didn’t know before..handling money, car maintenance, yard work, etc. Knowing how to do stuff makes it easier to live without your loved elders because you develop skills in things that Mom or Dad or Grandpa or whoever used to for you. I will be honest the year and a half after my Dad died was very, very hard, but much of that was because of other stressors in my life. Good luck to you, and relish every minute you have with them now.
