Rob Roskopp! Holy cow, I remember that board! I used to work in a surf shop back in HS and we ended up selling all sorts of skateboards and decks. I remember installing those plastic sliders underneath the board. I think I even had some sort of plastic protection that you snap onto the trucks to try and keep them from getting all scratched. I wondered how those decks were put up on the wall. Thanks for sharing how you did that. I really love what you did with your daughterʻs old room to turn that into your studio and workspace.

My first pro model was a Mike Crescini "Fork Crew" deck from Vision in 1990. He was VA Beach local, part of the Fork Crew, along with Henry Gutierrez, Allen Midgette and Serge Ventura. I cant remember when you lived in VA, but they were tearing up Trashmore in the 80's and 90s so it was awesome to own a board from a local legend. Awesome side note they were also in a skate punk bank called Lostribe. Used to watch them play a VA Beach skatepark quite a bit.

My first "real" board was a green Joe Johnson Vision hieroglyphics. I sold it for $20 buck when I got my first car. Years ago I searched the web but could not find anything on that particular model. Recently I saw one pop up on a YT vid so the search was on again. Finally found one but not the exact color. First board was a T&C Performer with Gullwing trucks, Sims multicolored wheels, and of course the plethora of accessories including the bird on the back truck hahah. Third classic board was a Rob Roskopp II, black with I think some neon colors in the target etc. Hard to remember now. @@TheNostalgicNeighborhood i guess it's good for people who want period correct 'wall hangers', but the reason they switched the bolt pattern in the first place was to fix the issue of hardware getting ground off from noseslides. my cousin had an og staab, either the pirate or mad scientist, w/ red/white trackers and green/red oj2 wheels. i have the wheels from it on my mcgill

@@braystar1782 I haven’t tried the nano rats, they are a modern shaped, smaller wheel and I’ve been riding old school board with bigger, fatter wheels lately. I still love the Dragons formula Rat Bones shape though!

@@braystar1782 They’re great. Softer like an old school street wheel, but performs like a harder wheel. I’m happy 90% of the time on speed, but they are a tad slow on the super smooth wide open sections of my local park. On the regular street or tighter sections of the park, the are absolutely amazing

Typical response from the average person who has been trained to think like everyone else. This guy can be an inspiration to older people looking to do something different. Why not do what you enjoyed as a youngster? Most ppl his age can only dream about being able to skate that well.

So you see a middle aged guy having fun, doing what he wants, what he loves, what he grew up doing as a kid (bmx and skating) and all you take from this is he’s in a crisis? So you didn’t Pick up on the fact he can now afford to buy all the cool stuff he probably couldn’t as a kid. That physically, he could still BMX and skate when most men his age can’t, his great attitude and the smile on his face while he’s making these videos for us. And you see a crisis here?
