Very nice old school build. 140db with sealed subs and not a lot of wattage is still respectable for sure. I bet it sounds super punchy and is a fun setup. Thanks For the old school showcase John and Big D! Really enjoyed this one.

At grandmas house in the early 90’s. Walls shaking and hanging coffee cups fell off the wall. Ran outside and caught a dude driving a mini truck with 4 15 inch Fosgate’s on 1 Punch 45. Could not believe the output of that amp and subs!!!

Clean love the old school equipment. Brings back memories . I’m not that old but a lot of my first stuff was the old used gear from my brother in law .
Man I absolutely love seeing old school setups like this. Fuckin love it
Aye man I like that,it does take you back to the days,i remember folks in the neighborhood complaining about me knocking pictures off their walls In that old chevy, two thumbs up for the vid.
Don't see to many period car audio build's, I love it.
That's a very nice set up right there!!!!! The sound that comes out of a punch 200 on a pair of punch DVC's man it's a great tone I did it for years!!! Shit 4 200's and 8 dvc's. Wow!!!!!!!!!
I love the old school systems. I had the Orion HCCA amp with 1st generation Boston Acoustic Pro 10’s and their component in the 6.5 and 4 inch sets. The 4 inch midrange and tweeters was in my brother’s truck for years and they finally quit working last year.

Next needs to be a tricked out moroon red blazer on wide wheel all gold Dayton's with gold trim. An older friend of mine back in the day had the cleanest rides in Fort Worth, TX. Frankie was his name and did he have his rides 100% show ready. Sadly I don't know what ever happened to him but my gut feeling is that the game caught up to him as it does with all the baller's back in the day.
Yea 140db without breaking a sweat is nothing to sneeze at, especially since they're sealed boxes. People get so caught up in the spl numbers that they forget how bass should sound. Tight, responsive, hard hitting, which I imagine these did in those individual sealed chambers. Awesome system!
Can’t get enough of the old school gems !

Yes, they were technologically advanced for their time
Very nice! Ima huge fan of the old Rockford stuff (who isn’t!). Really happy to watch. I put 4 old HE2 12” DVC powered by a Power 1000 into a 97 Jetta. I had 6.5” RF component speakers from that year (it was 2001) AND they were powered by a punch 200.4. It sounded amazing. The bass would suck the air out of your lungs if you were in the back seat! Love your channel!
Man I bet that sounded sweeeettt! I had 2 Rockford Audiophile 12s back in the day in seperate sealed boxes. Man those things were smooth with the bass with that Autotek 7300BTS pushing'Em. Great video Big D! 🖒
Badass system love to see these old systems in action since it was before my time lol
Nice.... one of my favorite amps of all time... punch 200 is a beast
My first sub was a sound stream USA 10 from 1996 lol I loved that thing .
I’ve got 2 of those Fosgates. SVC though, just sitting in an old wedge box from back in the day.
BIG DWiz that gentlemen John has a very awesome old school install in his Cheve truck!!! I have that very same PIONEER head unit as well the DEH-P8000R it's still brand new in the box!!! I have had it storagedup since 1999 when I brought it!!! His system put up a 139 in DB"S that's pretty damn good for only an 800 Watt sound system!!! Those ROCKFORD FOSGATE amps just look amazing in his install 😱😱😱😱!!! Great video as always!!! 👍👍👍

John Enzweiler Well it all boils down to how much your welling to pay for it, and how much I'm welling to sell it for!!!!
It's nice to see old school audio installs. I don't personally do car audio but home audio is my thing. My power amps are Kenwood Basic M2 x 4 and 4 modified Sansui c-1000 pre amps. Only a few modern items include minidsp and source audio with power conditioner. I'm looking into doing a off grid kind of power source but it's expensive at the moment.
Ey I got the Pioneer 8000R and similar truck just in dually form, getting ready to throw in the old school gear, thanks for the motivational video. :)

Love that retro Pioneer Head-unit OEL 3-D Display i'm still looking for one of those...
I had a single cab 1990 Chevy truck with 3 12inch Kicker subs. the seat was all the way forward! haha - I would have ate the steering wheel in a minor front wreck. But it hit hard and I broke the back glass out 2 times! Good times back in the high school days.
Man I love that old skool set up

My Fosgate DVC’s where easily my favorite subs I ever had. I would love to hear and feel that truck’s system.
Was that Techmaster playin after metallica? Computer Love was my go to back when I had a system.
Great job! Reminds me of the "old days" when I installed (90's) and I was expecting about 140 db. Amazing how technology has changed and a similar setup today would probably be 150+.

It's just power vs surface area. New gear isn't magically better. All that new gear did was introduce power at a lower price.

Yeah but at the cost of SQ (imo) and efficiency.
@llebcire
6 жыл бұрын
OxBlitzkriegxO From what I've seen over the last year I disagree. High efficiency Class D amps produce quite a bit of power with less current draw, advancements in box design and subs designed for very small boxes handling tons of power are all advancements over what we had in the 90s.
@llebcire
6 жыл бұрын
Whit Hutchinson I wouldn't have used Rockford amps or subs for SQ in the 90s - personal opinion.
I love your videos man, brings me to back-in-the-day bump'n. Good stuff bro. BTW did you say Chvery Silverado? 1:12
I bet that sounds great! Awesome condition old school equipment right there👍👍
Did this same truck use to have qty 22-12" subs in the xtra cab?. 5 in each diamond shape area., 4 diamonds total and 2-12's facing straight out in the center? Amps in the bed of the truck? I ask because I remember a truck just like this at spring splash or endless summer (forgot which event) but both held in Parker AZ back in the 90"s.
Nice just love old school rockford

That x2 has a cute lil smiley face of capacitors. The designers were grinning at all the extra power
Damn impressive truck. Definitely not how I would roll, but mad respect. And that's what's so cool about audio. I love seeing others tastes, and sometimes checking out stuff you wouldn't otherwise consider. And those Italian 6.5's are frikkin awesome. I love the rough paper. BigDWiz Yup, and we all hear differently too. Which unfortunately makes it hard to suggest gear to others based on sound quality. Either way though. Another great video man. Thank you.
Was up Grande D Wiz like the video I did my brothers 93 same truck with 6 jl audio 12 same set up hits very hard but my brother doesn’t take good care of stuff so haven’t heard in years it’s parked for now ! On the app for your measurements for dB on iPhone could you tell me what app? Thanks mr
Those old punch's were some of the cleanest sounding subs ever, I had a set of 8s back in the mid 90s that would hit lows in the right enclosure and carried sounds blocks away. Hate that they're nothing like they was...
Much love to your channel. Great vids. And love this setup!
I dig it! Great looking obs too.
How fitting for some techmaster peb as demo music. Love it
Hey wiz gotta tell me, do alot of the older bassheads use lower watts so they can bass longer with no problems? Is 1000 on 2 subs comparable to 800 on 8 subs? And will more less powered subs be louder than less more powered sub? staging and sub area/ and enclosure type/sizes etc alot of variables, have or will you do a video on this please so interested
Sweet took me right back too high school!!!!
In the early nineties i hit 141dbs with 3 JL 10s using a soundstream reference 1000 amp.
I just bought a 12" rockford fosgate punch dvc. Wut amp do I need
What is is the db measurement app you have on your phone?
I had that head unit back in like 2000. It came with my 1998 Honda passport.
Love those old punch dvcs
for some prob is a silly question, but is the 600a worth of fuse really necessary to run those class ab? howmuch power does all those amps make peak dynamic? or its just cool overkill?
@henriquee67

Those old decks feel sooooo much more solid than modern pioneer. I've had to warranty my deh-80prs for faceplate connectivity issues, and even the new one has problems sometimes. Every time i push a button it feels CHEAP, you can see the whole faceplate move.

What frequency/ db app are you using?
I bought a Dual CD player for the car and even with 2 stock door speakers it had some good sound and volume.Just need to replace the door speakers with the Pioneer 6 1/2’s and it will let out more wattage due the lower ohm level and sound much better.
I still have my HX2’s & I love them! 👍🏾

Super clean install. And it's all definitely from the early to mid 90s era. Especially the truck. So it all kind of matches what era all of those were built in. Everybody wanted them rims back in the day.the one thing that I hate about those trucks is where you need to mount the aftermarket stereo. It can't go in the factory location because of the way the dashboard is. But that's what you get when you buy one of those late 80s all the way up to mid 90s Chevys. Other than that, beautiful truck.

of course those amps put out more than their rated amounts but it just goes to show you dont need amps rated in the thousands. Damn love those kick panels
I lost intrest in loud audio but always come back to ebay and youtube. I have a 2012 silverado 3500hd extended cab work truck. I may install something in it soon but may lift rear seats a little to get decent sub under it.
i had 4 single coil 12s off 1 800a2 and hit a 152, guess that was pretty good.... think they were RFP1412 if memory serves, they were hold overs from the last system which had 12 of them in a Sentra...
