Baby Super Discount is now Streetlight Records store since the 1990's. I used to work at the glass company next door as a summer job from high school 1983 to1985.

1:00 and 9:00 Hey, it's Fred Newman! I can't be the only one who remembers Fred most because he used to co-host The All New Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel. He went on to do work with Nickelodeon, "Doug" and the Prairie Home Companion. To me he will always be Fred from the MMC.

About the "Sonny Bono Look", I can't remember a whole lot from the 80's (I was only five when they ended) but I certainly remember seeing men with long hair and mustaches EVERYWHERE. Maybe it's a California thing?

i had one of those freaking locker answering machines! :-D the machine could only work by using high pitched whistles you'd give friends, so no one else could activate it. so if a friend wanted to leave a message, they'd stand at the grates of your locker, where'd you mount your voice recorder which is linked to the tape recorder. then they'd blow the whistle, and leave a message my machine wasn't used much, unfortunately but thanks for refreshing my memory. you're awesome :-D

I'm so glad that the John Hughes look was pretty much out by the time I got to high school four years after this. Wasn't Worlds of Wonder the Teddy Ruxpin people? Somehow, I don't think any members of the San Francisco 49ers, much less Joe Montana, needed to lease a car from Nissan. Was he a national spokesman, or just for Northern California?

That brake ad was a shamless rip-off of an earlier slogan! (I think from Crystler???) And, remember... The cutting-edge technolgies of the 80's initially fetched what would today be considered a sick joke! We paid $335.99 (ON SALE!!!) for my first VCR. Now they give them away for free when you buy a set of Tap-Lights!

5$ a credit hour--WOW. Though honestly, California has cheap education. It's around 70$ a credit hour here (Florida), and in my boyfriend's town in Southern Cali it's only around 25$ a credit hour. Also: Locker... Answering machine...?

Worlds Of Wonder (the company that made Class Act, along with Teddy Ruxpin and the original Lazer Tag) went out of buisness in 1990. other companies make their products but not Class Act. So nerds of today need to find anther way to express geekiness. but then again, everyone is a nerd and in style w/ the advent of iPads, tablets and other technology.
