This is a sad state of affairs. She's 8 years old. She has been built up to believe she has an undeniable gift, which down the road will flatten her spirits. The parents shouldn't have put her out there for criticism. They should give her real vocal training and honest feedback. I can only hope that an adult with sound judgment steps in and redirects her path. 😢

It will be OK. Maybe they couldn't make rent & letting her sing, made the difference. Who knows? We aren't in her shoes, but my son sings well & although he is learning violin, we are truly honest with him... You can't be good at everything... She needs a teacher. There are different methods of singing. Stage vs classical. She needs breathing technique. My son needs it, too! However, her facial emotions are extreme, but for my son to connect anything to words, at that age, was difficult.

Please don’t call me a bully please don’t, but in my personal opinion I think that age is now and I mean now the child is eight she’s got enough brain power I believe to tell the difference between good and bad I really think at this point somebody should be looking at her and barely a very kindly, saying, sweetheart you cannot sing. If you want to learn to sing properly we will give you lessons, or if that doesn’t work, we can find some thing else for you, but this isn’t for you. I really truly think that in the year and in the now is a damn good time to tell this kid because if it’s not now it ain’t gonna be later on down the road because she’s been doing this since she’s four or five if not younger and this is by far the worst she’s done yet and if this keeps going on, it’s just gonna get worse.

I’ve heard eight year-old that sing better than this.

That was absolutely appalling and disrespectful. Her parents should be so ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen.

I feel so sorry for her having to return to school and have all of her friends making fun of her. Definitely, her parents fault. Such a shame.

Her adults didn’t handle her properly. This is now memorialized on the internet and as she ages, the virtual world will remind her of this…continually.

Poor child, let's not roast her too much. I feel like she was not properly prepared by the adults in her life, and why would they make/let her do it acapella? That's a hard song to sing

I'm glad I seen this. I'm deaf, but I have a Cochlear Implant and I could never figure out what was good and what wasn't good. I definitely know now. She was all over the place. No disrespect to the little girl though.

The entire audience is just shocked!

The bullying is horrible, BUT her parents and anyone else who let this little girl think she could sing should be ashamed of themselves. Different people have different gifts. She was not gifted with singing and someone should have let her know before allowing this to happen.

"Gifts" is BS. You learn through practice and hard work. There is not a skill that's going to magically land in your lap. All professional singers get vocal lessons...which her parents neglected to get and this is the result.

I voice cracked multiple times at a school basketball game whilst doing the anthem (I used to be in the chorus of my school). Yet, I can still do better than this

No, it’s not pathetic because one she can’t sing it’s not hateful to point that out and if anything is pathetic it’s the fact that this kid‘s parents have been telling her that she can sing for. God knows how many years and she believes it that’s what’s pathetic.

Shame on you for making fun of, and laughing at an innocent 8yr old girl who has no idea how she sounds! Shame on her parents for allowing her to sing knowing the brutality of social media and the effects this could have on her in a few years, not to mention the backlash she’ll prob receive from her classmates. We did grow up and while doing so we learned that lying to someone and telling them they have talent is wrong. I agree to no name calling and such that is wrong but we shouldn't be obligated to lie to her also.

Her dad is the culprit and I hope she doesn’t get in trouble for that. He seems desperate to make her happen.

Okay I have nothing positive to say about her performance, but how can you be so RUDE describing an 8 year old? What better does she know? What’s more scandalous here is the way you talk about her : narcissist , lunatic and so on. Come on man , get a hold of yourself, if you wanna come for anyone , go for her parents or her musical coach. Imagine she heard you. She would have been broken for a long time. There are ways of delivering a message. Yours is cruel and purely destructive. And here you are , a mature man who should be showing an example on how to act better … try figuring out how to empower and push people towards a better direction, if you have the audacity of commenting other people’s performances and behaviors.

I completely agree with you, and please don’t call me a bully please don’t, but she cannot sing, and the performances have been getting progressively worse and worse and worse and worse over the years her father for whatever the reason has been documenting them, and there is proof of what I say there is auditory proof why he refuses to get this. Child lessons is truly beyond me.

I completely agree because some thing is going on here that we don’t know about how on God‘s green earth is a fourth grade teacher, who clearly doesn’t make a lot of money because teachers unfortunately don’t get paid enough. How is he been able to do this for years on end And the performance is progressively get worse and worse.

I love it that your being real about this. I applaud her for having confidence.. There is nothing wrong about that. But wow her voice needs work. And also singing our National Anthem doesnt require someone singing it with bends and twists like soul hip hop type music. Just singing it plain works very effectively. The song is what is strong, not the person singing it. Our Anthem can hold its own with out needing to be spiced up, or in this case, butchered.

When she is a few years older nobody will want her to sing at these functions and it will all come crashing down around her. No singing talent past present and most likely future.

That poor girl! I can't imagine..actually I can imagine the rough time she's going to get at school. What on earth were the parents thinking to allow her to make such a fool of herself. This is going to follow her around for the rest of her life. Have to applaud the cameraman for not making it more humiliating for her by showing the audience reactions😢 Who is she? I have only.just seen the end. She's sang at more than 1 stadium???Why?????

I feel so sorry for this little girl. I can't imagine how badly she is probably being mocked at school, especially considering how full grown adults are responding to this. What’s really bad is apparently she’s been doing this for years and the performances have been only getting progressively worse and worse but yet the dad continues to put her out there hyper up tell her that she can sing refused to get her a singing teacher, which she desperately desperately needs although at this point, I’m really starting to wonder if you’ve done that would help I mean this is just sick.

She has pretty decent breath support, but shame on whoever taught her to sing like that. I used to cringe when my students would sing through their noses. That was the first thing I would train out of them.

To honor all those who have defended our nation someone should have stopped her and put her in Time Out. What a Disgrace.

This is not her fault. Singing coach and parents need guidance. Discretion seems in order.

This is horrific. People building her up and telling her how amazing she is, is not helping her. Dad needs to admit that she needs to take a break from doing the circuit and get some singing lessons. I'm tone deaf and this hurt my ears.
