It has the ports for the Gamecube Controllers. But will have to check it's model too, yeah? I have seriously been missing out on that feature then if mine does, thank you a TON. How can we use earbuds/headphones (with the jack not USB) while streaming Wii stuff with commentary (the same way you can stream PS4 party chat/audio with the Chatlink) and sound broadcasted? Hope that makes sense. It's easy to connect the XBox/PS4 (in my case, PS4) and change the audio analog to headphones while on Elgato Game Capture software. Same applies to Switch. Nintendo is slow on the uptake for live streaming which sucks lol

    I have 2 gamecube systems a 101 and 001. The 001 allows you to use SD2SP2 with Action Replay as long as you have a Gecko and format a 2GB SD to Fat with Swiss on it. I see Ebay has Pal Disks from Datel on Ebay New. They are worth the $35.00. If you have a 101 get two Gecko's and format the one for games to EXFat for Dol's. Just use two memory cards because Japanese games format your memory card to that region. I recommend Hudson Select Series Bonk and Adventure Island. It is super easy for all of those back ups so you don't scratch anything. Just leave the Action Replay in all the time and run of SD. Just use the second Gecko in slot one and remember that the newest Swiss Emulates the memory card too. I have also used Gui format 32 to format larger memory cards for Wii as well to do my Nintendont. WiiU as well with vWii. I just find the games on the Cube run better with EXFat.

    Does the Wii with hdmi/component force all games to 480p? I know my GC will not play certain games in 480p (like Megaman Anniversary Collection) no matter what I do. Just curious if a Wii would have different results without modding. Although it looks fine on my monitor, the GC games will jitter on stream using 480i and it makes it almost unwatchable.

    I have the wii2hdmi converter and a 4k60 mk.2 just like you are using in the video. everything is plugged into the right places just like i would be streaming for xbox or ps4. My monitor(s) support the required resolution. Are you using an HDMI splitter in between the wii and capture card? what is the device that you are plugging the hdmi cord into at 2:47 into the video?

  • @TeamRetro

    @TeamRetro

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for the comment. The only reason in this video I used a splitter but didn't reference it is because the HDMI cable I'm using has a fault. It's a 12 meter that struggles to work via my 4K switch box directly so I have to split it before it plugs in for any console I use. My setup is difficult to show and explain most times as the PC is on one side of the room and the consoles are on the other side.

    I'm aware our Pal Wii outputs most Wii games at 480p but I don't think PAL Gamecube games output in 480p at all, which is a shame. At least this is way better than using composite AV cables, or at least should be. I just wish we had something like this for the PS2 but the PS2 is a bit weird since it outputs some games in 240p, and plays most games at 50hz. (Us PAL users really got screwed with the PS2) Pretty much all the cheap component to HDMI adapters for the PS2 are complete junk. The signal will sometimes cut off for a second or two, they don't support 240p, so you can't play all the PS2 library while using them and they often fuck up the colour and darken the image significantly.

    Yep this is good for Wii although there's no up-scaling, you'll still get either 240p or 480i through HDMI and is great for Game Cube games. Wii component cables will do 480p I think from memory. The WII U will upscale Wii output to 1080p which might be nicer than some TVs can do it.

    @@TeamRetro The only other concern I have is the in the Wii settings. Oddly I can't choose HDYV380p, it's greyed out. Of course OBS wasn't able to see the Wii and when I hooked up the Wii using the Wii to HDMI adapter and directly to one of my monitors I get a report of "out of range." I hope and pray the Elgato will remedy that for me. No, I didn't see the NEOTECK video, but off to check it out! Enjoy and stay safe!

    The Wii U is crap for Wii games. Many of them have a problem (mine does this and it forced me to buy a Wii just to play Wii games) where you click Wii mode. It will make it MANDATORY to use a Wiimote to choose do you want to display it on your tv or gamepad? Then it will not recognize the Wiimote at all making it literally IMPOSSIBLE to proceed. Oh, and if by some technical wizardry by hacking the goddamned thing or via a Christ-like miracle you manage to get past that screen it's irrelevant which mode you pick you're playing it on the GAMEPAD. So you're screwed either way. It's a known issue and Nintendo has never bothered to fix it. So if your Wii U freezes you out of the Wii mode just buy a Wii with this adapter and if you don't own a Wii U and just plan on using it for Wii games just buy a Wii with this adapter. The Wii U is shit. There I said it.
