Thanks so much for this useful information. My mom is in her early 70's and my step dad is in his early 60's. They're both much more vital than me, but it's good to know that when the inevitable happens, I can seek the assistance of a hospice. It's reassuring to know that hospice's are much more convenient...

Great information. As my parents entered into hospice, we were lucky to share the load between 6 siblings and their spouses, still there were lots of long days & nights. One physician told us that it's not uncommon for the care-giver to pass before the afflicted spouse, because of the stress involved. Keep us the good work :)

Yes, if fact, a coworker of mine just went through the "caregiver loss" you mentioned. Her grandfather passed away one morning. He had been sick for awhile and her grandmother was taking care of him. As the family was sitting and making funeral arrangements, the grandmother excused herself and went to her room. When she didn't return, they checked on her and she had passed away while sitting in bed. Their passings were only 4 hours apart. I'm glad you were able to share your parent's care between the siblings, but it is good to know there may be respite help available if someone doesn't have help. Thanks, Greg!

So pleased to have found your channel! 😀 The information is really timely for our family. And such an important subject for everyone who would rather be at home than in any type of facility. This subject is so important. I think everyone should be aware of it. This Channel is so good that I'm going to send it to the out reach worker at my local COA (Counsel On Aging). to make them aware that it exists and feel confident they will share it among our local seniors. Thank you for doing this. Very best wishes for your channel's growth (yes, I have subscribed, liked and commented… as everyone should!) 😁 ❤️
