Unfortunately, if the EMS dispatcher deems the caller to be irrational/frantic, it is not illegal for them to hang on that caller. They do have a legal obligation to dial back callers that hang up on them, but other than that they are under no legal obligation to stay on the call with you. I'd read into "Warren vs. District of Columbia" for precedent.

Story 5: Guy knowingly drives home, alone, in the dark during a storm and finds himself flooded and then blames law enforcement saying they "wouldn't" help him. No, they COULDN'T help because of the numerous similar calls they received and they were stretched thin. The only one to blame is the one in the driver's seat. I am glad it all worked out for him and he is safe but he needs to do some self-evaluation. If your job isn't first responder or similar emergency service and a storm is THAT bad, miss work. If you lose your job you can always find another. Can't say the same about your life.

That one 911 operator should have a lawsuit filed against them/their agency. Secondly, that guy did not get off justice by being criminally insane. There is a huge misconception that people who are not fit to stand trial and go to the institution get off easy. That place is is scarier and more horrifying than prison. There was a a video somewhere on KZread that does a good job explaining it.

@@titohhh420 If police or ambulance are able to get there, they most likely won't die. It's unfortunate that a few bad people have made it dangerous to do a LOT of things, including stopping to help strangers, letting strangers into the house, etc. Too often, people have been victimized because they are trying to be kind and helpful. At one time, hitchhiking and picking up hitchhikers was something people did easily. But someone would have to be crazy to do either these days. Try blaming the perpetrators who have made it a hazard to actually help strangers in need. I honestly think there should be special added punishment for crimes where good samaritans are victimized exactly because it erodes trust in strangers.

So I know that you have a lot of people fall asleep at night with the calmness of your voice. I took my three kittens and one dog to the vet and let me just tell you they were all crying and meowing which made the dog anxious in the backseat and I was thinking, how can I calm them down. So I put this episode on of yours and lo and behold they stopped crying and stop meowing. They just laid down. So I guess your voice not only help soothe humans, but it helps soothe animals too so thank you, you made for an easy drive to and from the vet with my animals.

If you are trapped in your car as the person in the flood was, then remove the head rest and use the metal spikes to smash the window. That's what they're there for. Also never rely on anyone else to rescue you. You're your own rescuer.

You're completely wrong lol. It's misinformation and a myth. The spikes under the head rest are NOT meant to break the window of a car. Also, they will NOT work as they are NOT strong enough. You need to buy a special, small, car window hammer for emergencies. If your car is going into the water, quickly open your window and remove your seat belt so you can get out. If you have none of these options, the car door will not open at first, but it will eventually. Your car door does not open when the car is partly submerged because of the water pressure against the door as there is still air in the car. If you wait for your car to fill entirely with water and for the air to be gone, the pressure will equalize and the door will once again be able to be opened, just hope you can hold your breath until it is fully submerged.

The 1st story reminds me of a story I read where there was a body on the ground. Multiple bodies on the ground and, when the man drove past the bodies he looked in his rear view mirror and they all stood up. And, there were some people coming out of bushes. Never stop for anyone unless it's your family! Story 3 thank goodness she's still alive. Story 5 was nerve-racking, glad everyone made it out alive. Story 6 sound like the black eye kids

If I took my daughter to on a late night drive to put her sleep 💤😴. I would be very careful where I was going with her. If someone was following us I would probably go to gas station ⛽ , or a Whataburger or I go to a police 🚓 station. I would call the 911 as soon as I saw them following us. I would tell my Daughter to lay down and go to sleep. So she wouldn't get scared.

On January 1st, 5am I was heading to gym with my dad on country roads no high beams on. Their was a down tree in the middle of the road blocking both sides of road. Hit the tree and thank God three other cars crashed night before which helped me not hit the tree directly only. Suffered whiplash but me and my dad walked away good with no serious injuries. Thank God everyday for making sure we’re okay and I’m definitely a better driver now. I do think going gym really helped me aswell

If you are ever in the unfortunate situation where your car is sinking here is what you do. Keep your heart rate low.. fear will increase your heart rate.. take long deep breaths. If you can roll your window down that should be your first instinct. Negative pressure will keep you from opening your car door. If you can’t roll down your window don’t panic. Continue the breathing exercise because you are going to need it for this step. Wait for the water level to be above the level of your car door. It will open now. Take a deep breath and swim away from your car the current of your car sinking will pull you down with it so swim against this current. You will survive!!!

We found out by her having a seizure in her sleep. That was probably the way to find out other than early detection by a doctor. She could have been driving with our daughter who was 18mo at the time.
