The WHOLE IDEA of the cooling fan is that you DON'T have to change how you ride. It's called a convenience! FYI, the cooling fan coming on often is to keep the engine at/near it's optimal operating temperature. Sounds like you should be riding an air-cooled bike.

The fan turns on when the guage is half way through. The wide cage stop the bike from smushing your legs when you drop it. If your gloves hit the switchgear, hold the grips a little towards the edge. The "Low fuel" warning is in yellow as well, and you can cancel it with the 'OK' or 'Return' buttons on the left switchgear.

If you limit your datafields to 4. The display actually resizes them to a size that's readable while riding. Granted you probably want to display more at the same time so it's still terrible design. But that's the only work around for this issues I found on my own 390 so far.

The issue with low fuel warning is they are not accurate at all. I own a Duke 250 with older style meter panel. It shows low fuel level and the warning but when I fully refill, I can only pump the gas until 6 litre which is about half of the tank capacity. It's a good thing I learned how to use trip meter to gauge fuel consumption and remaining but showing low fuel warning so early is very annoying.

I rode a 2013 model, not sure how different the ergos are after all these years, never tried the newer bikes. But if they haven't changed much, the one thing I hated about them was how they were so cramped for my 5'10 frame. The stock rearsets were high and the stock bars were too low without having a longer frame. Even the smaller CC FZ16 felt more spacious to me. Also the seats on your Duke, man they look like the same material on jacket inserts. They look like they could end up crumbling in a few years parked in the sun. Yeesh. But tbh, personally I like the look of the dash though, thankfully it wasn't more of a clusterf*ck like the new Ducatis. Thanks for your opinions, something to consider if I'm looking into getting one. Cheers from Singapore!

The temp gauge is super annoying and the fan kicks in whenever it feels like it lol. It's a fantastic bike though. 5 years, 11k miles the seat looks perfect still. I still haven't sussed out how the display works. My bad. If you're that way minded it's heaven. No issues with the back brake. The thing about this bike for me is how tactile and to hand everything is. It's relaxing and exciting at the same time. So responsive, eager and flickable

I have a Husky Svartpilen 401 (so basically the same bike) and the low fuel problem is the one that annoys me the most. I tend to get about 250 km from a tank (it's 9'5 liters teorically) but once it gets under 100 km of autonomy, the F** message comes up. Like, it's half a tank still! Being such a careful person like me, that means that I tend to go to the gas station as soon as it comes up! Also, if you leave the bike while it alerts that you have 80 km left, then you come back again and ride for a few minutes and jumps to 30 and hten to just VERY LOW FUEL, in which state I can guarantee you that AT LEAST it has fuel for 30 km more (I have never experimented further). So yeah, fuel indications are straight up BAD, REALLY BAD, on this platform. Asides from that, I fucking love it.

Didn't think about that. Does it interfere with your shoes when u using riding boots? Yours is the only kind of crash guard I'd be willing to put on my bike. * I own the 2016 model, the older version of your bike. ** The crash guard does Not come stock with the bike, atleast in india :) Also, the seat you described is one of the coolest things I'd even seen designed by man on that RC :) I think it is genius :) But I understand if you do not like it. Boasting about the size of your hands huh? Sounds like your bike has issues. I can lock the rear brake easily on any surface - wouldn't be able to drift the rear end if I couldn't, the cage is a Powerparts accessory, they aren't factory, and my temp gauge goes up and down as the engine heats or cools off. Luckily it doesn't get too hot here in the UK, so the fan is less annoying but I guess I'm used to it or maybe I just can't hear it over the exhaust now hmmmm.... It runs hot because its a KTM - it says ready to race for a reason - the designers expected it to be ridden just as hard as sports bike.

Depends on the bike and riding type... If you mean if you're gonna be able to hold the bike and you're skinny, it wouldn't be a problem for most of the time as you will be moving. The bike balances itself. You'll only have to have power for some delicate situations if you get a heavy or tall bike and it starts to lean too much in low speed/joining the T section from uphill/you don't give enough gas or release the clutch fast...than you'll need to really hold the bike not to fall down. In general, you shouldn't worry much about your weight/bikes weight, it comes natural. Just start with smaller CC bike as it's recommend cause it'll forgive your mistakes more and be lighter for your adaptation/learning period. All the best! 🖐️

Hey buddy, since you have been riding this bike now for quite some time, i wanted to know, do you feel a clicking feel on the clutch when you let off the gas and pull the clutch in?

I had that when I picked got my Duke but I realised in the end it was because I was pushing the lever down as I pulled it in I think? Either way it wasn't a concern!

@@GamesAreTooHard well i did not think of that, will observe next time i go for ride if i pull the lever down , if that is the case then my worries will be sorted. If not then will troubleshoot it more.

Don't get why you are complaining about the crash cage. It's just like your helmet, which needs space to absorb an impact. You don't want a cage that is super strong, so it does bent the whole bike, then just the cage itself. That would be motor protected, but bike deformed.

for your first issue, this bike runs on High Octane, that heats the engine faster and higher than regular gas. so at low speed, rev less or rev for shorter period of time.
