If you don't get compliments, it doesn't mean you're hot or ugly. I've met lots of beautiful women and I haven't complimented them. A compliment says more about the person who gives the compliment than about you. Some people just want to be nice, others are simps.

I have a friend who I view as very attractive but she’s never really been in a proper long term relationship before. I think the reason a lot of people are single for a longer amount of time is because they choose to not be in a relationship. Either because they don’t find anyone they’d want to be in a relationship with or because they just don’t feel like being in a relationship at all. The right people will show up in different places in time, and one of them will probably the long lasting love of your life

This is what I’ve realized a while back is that sometimes the insecurities we see in ourselves when we look in the mirror don’t even cross anyone’s mind when they are talking with you. So don’t worry about it so much just be yourself and you’ll find someone will find you attractive.

Don’t know if this will help, but this is just kinda how I look at things in general. For starters I’ve NEVER seen anyone and thought they looked bad, sure I’ve seen people I know or even that I don’t know and might notice they look tired or worn out but I don’t think they look bad. Everyone looks great, beauty is a very subjective thing and to me I view it as everyone is human, I never think about how others look (sometimes might compare to myself but quickly quiet those thoughts in my head). Another thing as well is how I think others view me. I try to think of how others would view me if they don’t know me based on how I unconsciously notice things about others. I don’t pay much attention to others looks so I assume most people just see me passing by and don’t think much about it, or if they do then I’d assume they’re probably noticing just simple things like commonly at school I have an instrument (or two) in my hands in the afternoon and it’s usually a bass clarinet or tenor saxophone so fairly large and noticeable. And I’d assume they might notice just the odd thing that might stand out passing by, outfit, facial expression, how you carry yourself, but even if they notice these things it’s probably self consciously so they’re not doing it on purpose and probably overall have a neutral opinion. Honestly I’ve always been a bit of an optimist, so I view the world as until you get to know the other person your opinion of them is going to be mostly neutral. Just think of how you view others you don’t know, and reflect that thinking onto how others may perceive you without knowing you. I also see it as even though people might seem popular or good at something doesn’t mean they aren’t insecure. I used to feel like I had nothing overly special about me I was just ‘normal’. Now I’ve come to realize that even now that I have something that I’m very passionate about (music) and have put myself out more in the community (through a local youth group) I haven’t really changed, I’ve just become more confident and sure of myself and I feel like that helps me feel like I have more personality than I used to (I used to think my personality was very bland, but it was just I didn’t open up and talk as much and was insecure and worried of judgement). I really hope this helps! This was just how I view the world around me from an optimistic point of view of a now (usually) fairly confident high schooler!

Listening to this made my heart basically stop because a lot of these apply to me. People tend to talk to me a lot and, despite being introverted, I make friends surprisingly easily. I feel like it may have been amplified this year because, after quarantine, I felt the need to stop looking like a burlap sack doll of muffins in a baggy hoodie and have been taking much better care of myself. It’s honestly really trippy to realize I might be pretty because I’m blind and can’t really tell if I’m good looking or not. Of course, I’ve felt my face before and have a general idea of my appearance, though people tend to fight about what color my eyes are, I don’t really have a concept of weather or not that’s pretty, y’know? I’ve had people describe what I look like to me before, but it’s typically a friend or family member like my dad, grandma, or seatmate in one of my classes, so I’ve always thought being told I’m pretty was just someone being nice. I’m feeling a little high now thanks to this video and I think I’ll walk with my back straight and my chin up today.

It doesn't necessarily means you are attractive, but struggling to find someone to date is a sign of unatractivenes. Usually guys have to make the first move anyway, but if you're always being reject, this is a sign, and when I say "always", I don't mean 1 successful attempt after 5 rehections, because this happens quite a lot for normal guys, but when you try 10, 15, 20 times and nothing...well, bad news

"People are surprised by your insecurities" I have a story on this. First year highschool and I became friends with a girl called, Prisha. A few weeks in and it's P.E. In the girls changing room I said to her, "I wish my ears were smaller." She said something along the lines of, "Wait, really? I'd kill to have some of your features like your ears!"

Everybody is beautiful in their own way, some are beautiful and some are too beautiful, but we all are beautiful just the way we are and we ain't need to look a certain way to feel pretty, cause getting negative compliments for my looks, makes me feel more beautiful and helps me to love myself more than ever ❤️

The “passing by compliments” part might explain something, and yes I always think they’re insincere. That gave me some hope! Thank you!

Damn ittttt!!! 🙀 except for 4 and 8 all rest of the points are TRUE for me. And "attractiveness can be intimidating" was an eye opener for me. I do feel like I find it hard to make friends with other women. I had a job where I noticed that fellow teachers started wearing makeup after I entered. And I do feel fellow women and friends see me as a threat often. I had no idea why before now.

Have you made an efford to find anyone? I lost my virginity by being raped, and after that I was afraid of men more or less knowingly I put up guards towards men, i didnt have sex willingly until I was 30years old, after that Ive meet six or seven really nice guys and a few really bad ones too Im 37, obese, Intovert( like last six years Ive been home alone like in quarantee( only go out to buy food or, medical appointments, and visit my parents) with no job, but lots of hobbies, and creative thinking is my middle name, Im a booknerd with glasses. But there have been ppl who wanted my number just because I walked by and apparently glowed to them( I think that I was probably sweaty)

The point about being intimidatingly attractive also applies to whether or not you are single. A lot of people don't try to get a date with someone they consider out of their league, so don't get too down!

Ashley Bogdan I’ve been hurt a lot over the years, to the point that this is probably the true reason why I am currently single. I don’t trust people very easily at all anymore, I get plagued with the thoughts that deep down they only care about themselves and I only matter to serve and satisfy them. I am so tired of being hurt and f’ed over. I see my brother- he is truly a great genuine caring person, a wonderful father, and husband to his wife. He has been my reminder in life that good men can actually exist. It’s hard because our painful experiences can F with our mindsets, and I try to not let other people’s mistakes cloud my judgement towards new people because it’s not fair for them obviously. While it is so hard to trust after all the hurt, I try to bear in mind there are technically some really good people like my brother, so keep an open (but still cautious! Lol) mind!

The title gave me false hope and after watching the vid i can now confirm that it did indeed brutally crush my tiny bit of confidence left

I don't get many compliments directly, but I sometimes hear someone say "This other person I talked to said you are cute/nice/awesome" and it always makes me so happy that this is what others think about me and tell their friends. I get more direct compliments on internet chats though, as the partial anonymity allows people to express more without having to talk to someone directly and they are also very dear to me, because I often see myself as not very attractive or special.

Friendly reminder: On the one about people easily warming up to you, if anyone reading this is insecure about their looks and thinks people don’t warm up to them easily because they’re not pretty enough, try to look at it in a different way! There very well could be another reason- for example, for me, social anxiety causes me to act very awkward and nervous in social situations, so people can easily pick up on that and may opt to just leave me alone. Don’t jump to conclusions thinking people are avoiding you because of your looks! People that do that are vapid anyways, and could be missing out on a friendship with a very lovely person just because they refuse to talk to you because of some surface level reason. I know how easy it is to get caught up in how you look and start worrying what other people think, and I really hope you can get out of that spiral. It hurts so much to think people could be judging you for something you have no control over. Just do yourself a favor and don’t assume people think you’re ugly when they look at you. And try to find ways to make yourself feel more confident, like a nice hairstyle, or smelly-good perfume. These things sort of help me with my worries, and I hope they can help someone else too.

I literally receive compliments all the time. Never thought i would be that disappointed about that, lol

I seriously realize just now that i'm not attractive because none of this happen to me. I just laughed tho

I get stared at often, and most times in public people come to me to ask me questions, or directions. I never think much of these things because they usually don't hold a conversation and I tend to keep to myself. However, there are a few times where i've gone to get a haircut and beard trim only to notice the stylist doing my hair stutters or gets nervous afterwards when i'm paying, saying I look completely different. When more than one person tries to talk to me at one time, I focus on whoever started first or is saying thr most important thing (related to job or personal life) and I feel bad because sometimes I turn back to find the other person walked off.

Me: entered the video feeling a bit of hope. Also me: *leaves the video crying in ugly*

Here’s the truth: you’re more attractive than you think because you’ve never seen your own face ... just photos and reflections. This video was obviously targeted at already “conventionally attractive” individuals but you can be more beautiful simply by smiling often and carrying yourself with good posture. No, no one has ever been lost in my eyes nor have I ever been in a relationship, but I’m becoming more beautiful as I change my habits and become healthier and happier.

I genuinely felt happy after watching this video hahahaha. What happened during my life is that I have been evaluated a lot and when I got asked if a have a girlfriend they got really surprised when I said no. A lot of people really assumed my age, they claim I look younger than I am, a lot of girls like me and really said that I am cute and attractive, also they like my pictures a lot and they mentioned sex. Also I am so smart wich makes me even more attractive (These claims are not mine, legitimately I have been told that)
