2:16 I tried explaining this to a speed runner I watch on twitch, but he didn’t understand what I meant. What’s nice about this is that you can keep your aim in the relative middle of the screen, and use the stick to do your big movement toward the target. That way, you don’t have to move to the edge of the screen, then waste time moving your aim back to the middle of the screen/away enough from the edge to have it stop turning the camera. It’s sort of small, but for speed running, it could save a few precious seconds

Even outside of speedrunning it is a small thing that makes a big difference to your quality of life while playing. The old version had a lot of little things that ended up making it a frustrating experience, but this versions cleans up a lot of those smaller issues

Like Abe said, Iwata is still in the credits during the "Skyward Sword original staff" section (so far every Nintendo remake or remaster has a section dedicated to everyone who worked on the original version, like I'm pretty sure the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask still have a credit for Hiroshi Yamauchi, the president of Nintendo when those were originally made).

4:50 This is something I kind of wish they used as a way to keep the controller centered. Because usually, you aim at the middle (aiming at the middle of the screen anyway) before pulling out an item, so it could use that to re center for you, instead of manually doing it. But I guess for consistency using Y to re center, it makes sense

  • @Refreshment01

The Wii has the correct implementation since it's more natural. But anyway, if the Switch gets updated to work as the Wii version you can still press Y whenever, so it won't cause any consistency issues.

I feel like even though they were low framerate, the original credits were made with a bit more care. The new credits tend to speed through things a bit, leaving you lingering on the last position to make up for the time, and the camera movements aren't quite precise enough for some of the more careful shots. They also really highlight that while the remake looks way better close up, it actually looks worse far away, losing some of the beauty of the artstyle.

  • @LocalContentShow

Agree with that and the camera also seems to pivot around a lot more rather than moving like a "real" camera would. Which, to me at least, reminds me of looking at Skyloft in a 3D model viewer rather than a physical location.

Hence why the Wii version is still the definitive experience when it comes to more accurate motion controls. The Switch motion controls are flawed & requires constantly pressing the Y button prior to using a weapon or using the sword. Even during swordplay and the use of the item, things get messed up even if you press Y. It has serious problems & breaks immersion. Wii version is more seamless and immersive.

If you are constantly recalibrating during the Wii game excessively, then that means that your set up is not right.

While i agree with the Wii version working more seamlessly. Pressing Y to recenter isn't a serious problem, it's just something the user should make an habit of... like for example: lifting the mouse or pressing a button to recenter the camera. Some people just remapp Y to SR on the right joycon & just instantly press it as they take an item out.

Maybe you haven't completely read my comments, but I was pretty clear in pointing out in my original comment that EVEN AFTER YOU PRESS Y TO RECENTER, YOU STILL have problems in the middle of using an item or the sword.
