8 Signs of True Love

In this day and age, it’s easy to confuse love for mere infatuation, attraction, or desire. The truth is, true love is about so much more than just chasing that fleeting “fairytale feeling”. True love is about compatibility, commitment, and dependability. And it takes a lot of time and effort to make a relationship work. Have you found your true love yet? If not, don't worry, join our #singlessquad :)

    We don't need to consciously get over the honeymoon phase, the phase comes naturally with any new relationship and it sometimes fizzles out NATURALLY or ages well like a wine.. NATURALLY. Experience life as it comes.. things that are meant to be will always find its way. The foundation of any relationship becomes strong when you face worst of life together not just the best. For some people, worst of life may come after 2 years of relationship, for some it may come in just the honeymoon phase..in the first 2-3 months even. If you deal with the phase together, doesn't matter even if you're in your honeymoon phase, your relationship will strengthen in that phase too.

    I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. Also, most people are pretty much comfortable enough to be naked around someone and have sex with someone that they have no romantic feelings towards. So sex isn't really a thing about romance. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner is. Also, you would more likely be much closer to a person who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

  • @icysnow57cold64

    @icysnow57cold64

    3 жыл бұрын

    Also, there are a lot of toxic romantic relationships, while there isn't that many toxic platonic relationships. Like an example is that abuse happens a lot in romantic relationships, while abuse is rare in platonic relationships. So there is a lot of abusive romantic relationships, while there is isn't that many abusive platonic relationships. Why do you think abusive romantic relationships have a term for them called "domestic violence", while abusive platonic relationships don't have a term for them? It's because abuse in platonic relationships are very rare, while abuse in romantic relationships happens a lot. And also, a lot of people cheat on their romantic partners with someone else, while most people won't do stuff like that with their platonic best friends. Also, I heard that most people can live a life without romance and can still be happy. But most of the time, if someone doesn't have any platonic friends in their life, it can effect them really bad mentally; much worse than living a life without a romantic partner. In today's world, less people are dating and getting married now, and they seem to be more happy being single rather than being in romantic relationship with someone. Also, you're going to have a much deeper spoken understanding and connection with your best friend than you are with a romantic partner or spouse. So those are other reasons why romantic love isn't real or special, while platonic love is.

  • @icysnow57cold64

    @icysnow57cold64

    And also, it seems that fathers usually hate it whenever their daughter gets a boyfriend (even if the boyfriend is a good guy), and it seems that they often hate the idea of their daughter dating, and many fathers seem against the idea of their daughters dating. There are even shirts made for daughters that say "I'M NOT ALLOWED TO EVER DATE" and shirts made for fathers that say "DADS AGAINST DAUGHTERS DATING". Brothers also tend to act the same way that fathers do whenever their sister gets a boyfriend (even if the boyfriend is a good guy). It seems brothers (like fathers) hate the idea of their sisters dating. So it seems that most fathers don't ever want their daughters to find love and be in a romantic relationship with someone, and it also seems that most brothers don't ever want their sisters to find love and be in a romantic relationship with someone. So those could also be other reasons why the concept of romantic relationships isn't a good thing because of how protective fathers and brothers tend to be whenever their daughter or sister dates someone.

They’re either lonely, they’re missing somebody, they’re depressed, they’re hurt,they’re scarred from the past, they’re having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn’t believe. They wish, they dream, and they hope. And right now, they are sitting there reading these words, and I’m writing this for you so you don’t feel alone anymore. Always remember, don’t be depressed about the past, don’t worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today’s not so great, don’t worry! Tomorrow’s a new chance. Although there were so many some red flag, but she never stopped telling me how much she loved me and want to spend the rest of her life with me. So I kept on believing her lies and shoving the red flags. . Never knowing that she was having an affair with a guy that I know and they both kept it a secret. I got to find out when I open up to a very good business partner. How I have been noticing some red flags and he advised me on what to do and to find out for sure if she is being faithful. It was then that I realized that she was having an affair with this guy and they were secretly making future plans.. I was so heart broken by this but still grateful that I did the needful to actually find out. It is really such a painful thing how people plays with ones emotions.

Sometimes it's just being overwhelmed, stressed that our mind is trying to blame on our love. I know that my relationship will last just because of how well we can communicate. Don't forget that love it's not effortless, and it won't always be the same as when you met each other. Thank you so much for this video

    I've been realizing that I've been unknowingly pushing those who love me away, friends, family, and everything in between. I've been learning to love myself and I'm seeing how important that is in all my relationships. I've had some rocky times recently, but I can tell it's because people are truly trying to help me grow, even if it requires a metaphorical slap in the face. Out of all the things in this video, patience has been my struggle recently. I'm feeling very hopeful, I'm gaining back my ability to love others by first knowing what it means to love myself. Letting go of expectations of what love will look like in others is liberating.

    Compatibility still plays an important part. Just because you can coexist with just about anyone doesn’t mean it’s love or that you will be happy with them. Even if you can fix things doesn’t always means it’s worth the time or effort or that the other person feels the same. That’s just called settling. It’s better to find someone that you harmonize well with and don’t have to constantly fight either. It’s not impossible.

    Real love is extensionality. Extensionality in essence is the ability to extend another person’s mind or life or possibilities. Wouldn’t that be nice? To have or be that person to another who will make you realize your possibilities and let you understand the world a little better? I thought, that IS love. Love has been overly romanticized in movies and fairy tales; like love is some sort of magic that makes everything all rosy and shiny. It sets an expectation so high about what love should be that eventually sets us up for a glaring disappointment in our relationships. Love is never steady. It fluctuates. Like you love yourself sometimes, other times you don’t. You’re lovestruck with your partner one time, another time, you’re just ok. And sometimes you just hate them for the littlest mistake they made that on any other day wouldn’t have bothered you at all. But it doesn’t mean you love them any less. It’s just the way it is. Therein lies the wonder of experiencing these fluctuations in love and life, for that matter; it makes us appreciate those moments of sheer happiness because we have experienced those moments of sheer desolation. For how can we know the difference if we have not experienced the other?

But my boyfriend now (and I’m keeping this one!) absolutely loves my weirdness! He tells me all the time and laughs with me all the time about it. He constantly asks me to do my weird stuff and then proceeds to laugh in that amazing laugh of his. It’s so so wonderful to have someone supportive in your life! When I was watching this, I was checking of the boxes just to make sure it was true love, the person I'm currently in a relationship with is something I can't just describe because there is so much hope and dedication that I share with them that it's overwhelming sometimes. I hadn't heard from them in months, until Saturday, when I got an anonymous call that turned out to be them. We rarely ever see each other, and it turns out that they had moved, not out of state though which is very fortunate. We both started crying when we heard each other's voices for the first time in what felt like a very long time, it was almost alien to her their voice again, but I was overjoyed that I could hear from them again. What really hurts is that I just started high school (my significant other is a grade lower than me), they are in a different school and my parents are downgrading every dream I have of keeping some of my friends after school and still having a strong relationship with them. This is only because they each only have one friend from school that they never talk to but still have in their contacts or on Facebook. What they don't know is that I will NOT be like them. And I will find a way to keep what I have.

    The idea of having to love yourself before you can love someone else is a big lie! It sends the impression that one isn't worthy of love. And that's not true at all. YOU ARE WORTHY! And you need to know that! There are many people in this world that have a lot of deep insecurities and struggle with self love, but they have huge hearts with so much love inside of them to give to others. It's just a matter of finding someone who loves and appreciates you for who you are.

    I was with someone in a ldr and thought it was true love at first but I quickly realized he never had my best intentions at heart. He caused a lot of problems but I have no Ill feelings toward it anymore. I’m grateful for the lessons I learned. Now I see love in someone else, he’s everything I’ve always wanted for myself and he knows me like no one else. He has taken care of me, made sure I ate whenever I forgot and he would give me hugs/cuddles whenever I got sad or stressed out. On days that seemed impossible he would take me out to do things together and simply always put me first. What we have between us I feel like it could turn into something like this but it’s not our time right now.

    This is so accurate. I have never doubted that my fiancé is the real deal. We've been together for more than 8 years, we hardly ever argue and when we do, we always make sure to solve it before bed. I can always tell what he is thinking about and vice versa. We suprise each other from time to time with flowers, the other's favourite rare snack, or a special home-made meal. He supports me in my depression and I respect his boundaries when it comes to social activities (I am an extravert while he is an introvert). It just... works! We were going to get married this Thursday but had to postpone it for a year (thanks C-19), but we love each other so much we already consider ourselves husband and wife. ❤

  • @TheKrazeeLadee

    @TheKrazeeLadee

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@Clementine3107 I think it's different from person to person and even from crush to crush. I've had crushes in the past but they weren't always the same. The things they had in common was 1. thinking about them all the time, 2. finding ways to be around them (usually when spending time with mutual friends) and 3. constantly blushing and being unable to stop smiling whenever talking to them. But the experience was different with each of them. One crush was exhausting and painful, another was exciting, sometimes it was both. The trick is to know the difference between crushing on someone and falling in love. In my experience, the guys I have crushed on were surprisingly easy to get out of touch with. Out of sight, out of mind. But with my fiancé, it was different. A week without him felt like an eternity. I was uncharacteristically proactive in going to whatever party or movie he was going to with our mutual friends and I had even asked him out on our first date. I'd never even thought of doing anything like that before. It was a sense of certainty that we belonged together. He felt the same way, and we were both pretty honest and straightforward with each other about it, which was scary for both of us but formed a very solid start for our relationship. All I can advise is: always be honest with yourself and the person you (think you) are crushing on. It's terrifying, but it's honestly the best way to go. Think to yourself first: could it work between us? Maybe start as friends and see if it can be built up to more than that, one step at a time. If it doesn't happen, that can be painful, but then someone else was meant for you. Never try to force it if it doesn't feel right. Hope this helps a little?

    I've had many failed relationships in the past. Every time we'd argue or fight, it would get ugly fast, and we'd always end up leaving that distasteful atmosphere hanging around with no resolution, hoping it would go away eventually. With my current partner, we still have disagreements, but we both clearly communicate our emotions, get to the root of the problem, and resolve things to the best of our ability, usually coming out stronger on the other side because of it. We've never once gone to bed feeling angry at each other. That's why I'm convinced I've found true love.

All I want is her to be happy. And if in the meantime she finds feelings for someone else. I won’t hold her back. Either way her happiness is all I care for.

    the part of theres no rivalry, i can share that the rivalry i had with a past relationship was actually our key to keep on pushing forward , as a way of us not slacking, of course when one of us didnt succed we would cheer eachother up or if one wins a certain competition we would celebrate, when it came to life events we would take it seriously and try to not fall behind, so i suppose that in a way was probably a orthodox way of living together but it motivated one another to keep on pushing forward

    Marrying the man I love this yr in Dec. I couldnt be happier knowing he really does love me and vise versa. I wasnt taught what that truly was when growing up, but I took care of myself, made myself knowledgable, and ended up with a best friend/fiance that taught it to me patiently. June 14th is our 9 yr anniversary. I cant believe its finally happening

    I would add one more: you say the same things at the same time✨ When you're in a true, long lasting, loving relationship your brains literally start getting wired together on some weird ethereal level, no joke. I've been living together with my man for 4 years now and we dated for about 2 years before officially becoming a couple. (we're planning to get married) I swear we don't even have to talk anymore! 😂 We just look each other in the eyes and we both know what's up. We say the same things in the same manner at exactly the same time, then laugh, then both say "I love you" simultaneously, then laugh again about that 😁 True love feels like being the ultimate besties 💖

    Being in a personally challenging but meaningful healthy relationship, I learned: TRUE LOVE is holding on to reason to stay committed. No matter how silly, absurd, shallow or unreasonable that reason might be, if it binds the both of you, if it works, then it's good enough. No standard, no comparison to others.. as long as it's not detrimental and it's good for your inner workings. I experience all the things in the list. I agree with them. But for people who are looking for answers, let me tell you. Nothing is consistent. This list may not be applicable to you at all. And that's okay. Seek your relationship deeper, and find that Reason why it is the right love for you. I am not my own ideal guy to my partner, there's a lot of challenges that I have to confront about myself to stay inlove and accepting. But I choose to stay because I can't be without my partner. And for me that's enough reason. Choose your lover today. Then choose them tomorrow. Then again and again and again. That's the greatest measure of your love.

    The reason being "i cant be without my partner" should probably be questioned. Its a statement without explanation, which is logically not enough to make a smart choice for anything in life. I feel like doing something, so i do it, isnt exactly a good idea. There are multiple psychological attachment styles and only 1 of them is actually healthy. I do agree with choosing your lover everyday though. So amazing. Endless love. :)

    @@sameena713 I was attracted to him from the beginning lol. His name is Tim and he went to a school that i was new to and I already knew I had a little bit of a crush but did nothing about it. I got into a relationship with the complete wrong person and it was a very bad relationship. After me and my ex broke up and I had moved on from it i asked one of my friends to give me Tims phone number. Flash forward to quarantine and I was in one of the worst mental states I've ever been in. I cut myself off from everyone and went weeks without showering n all that jazz. One day I had become fully convinced that i wasn't a real person and all my memories were fake and I couldn't stand it and I don't know why but he's the one person I could bring myself to text at that time. Our whole relationship started out with me freaking out and delusional and him trying to help lol. I got better slowwwwly over time and we became best friends for a couple months. I knew I wanted to be in a relationship with him. The more we talked the more we seemed to get along and the more we seemed to have in common. Even from the beginning it was easy for me to talk to him which is uncommon for me with most people. We made a shared spotify playlist and we made plans to do fun stuff together post-quarantine and gave each other some hope :) it was very nice. I knew then that I was genuinely in love with him. Around the middle of summer he asked me to be his girlfriend (which I was going to do but he beat me to it). We have been going steady for months now and it's been absolutely amazing. I still definitely get my bad days but he supports me through them and we encourage each other to do good in school because it's hard to be motivated to do online school hahah it just feels so right to be with him I can't describe it. This is definitely true love. He's been patient with me, I've been patient with him, we respect each other, and I just feel 100% comfortable with him. I mean I'm not unrealistic I know that we are just teenagers and in the end it likely won't work out but our relationship is so healthy and we both are deeply in love with each other so that's why I call it true love. We may not last forever doesn't matter to me. I have him right now and that's all I need
