8. Queen of the Reich [Queensrÿche - Live in Tokyo 1984/08/05]
This is Queensrÿche's 2nd concert in Japan and outside North America, luckily for us fans it was captured on film -- it was later released in 1985 on VHS and Laserdisc, but has long been unavailable and out of print. This having once been officially released on video, it was originally edited so the tracklisting was different (see the playlist link in the bottom), and it contains some vocal overdubs (like Geoff laughing in the beginning of Nightrider, as well as other bits throughout the show). This bootleg is already to be found on KZread, but in rather poor quality, so I thought I'd upload a better one.
The concert itself is great, the band is playing fiercely and Geoff is screaming and wailing to the best of his ability, nailing those high notes.
All of the songs are great versions, even if they contain overdubs throughout.
Enjoy!

I had no clue who Queensryche was when I saw them open for Kiss in Bakersfield CA. They opened with 'Nightrider' and finished with 'Take Hold'. It was truly the most mind-blowing set in my 62 years of living! 🎵
It’s a shame all these guys are alive & healthy and still can’t put their differences aside and give us ONE MORE ALBUM & Just one more show🙏Us OG’s would fly anywhere to see that one!! Btw welcome back ✌🏼
When your live performance puts the studio version to shame.
Due to my "healthy obsession (or is that passion?)" for '80s rock/metal, THIS is "PROOF or CONFIRMATION" that IT'S NOT, or STILL NOT, safe to "move forward" with so-called "modern rock/metal."
Seriously, What a voice Geoff had!
When I was about 11, and before I got deep into alternative and grunge, I was obsessed with Queensryche. It kinda fit with the 80’s hard rock bands at the time but it also sounded like Maiden and Priest, and some songs sounded like metal Pink Floyd. They also sang about stuff that wasn’t customary at the time like fascism, domestic abuse, family issues…it was definitely a band ahead of their time. One of the greatest and most underrated bands in the planet.
Geoff Tate is the real voice of Queenstyche
Chris & Michael were pure magic together. Man I miss Chris. One of my all time favorite guitarists.
Yes amazing. I don’t think this was edited. I saw them open for Metallica in 89 and they opened with this song and the entire crowd was blown away. Chris DeGarmo had a big part in the backing vocals as well.
my god !! his voice was unreal , still gives me goose bumps when i watch this after all these years!!
Metal at its best
I were on Geoff Tate concert last week and he managed to sing this song with no vocal feedback or other crap.
This performance is so stunning that sounds like I'm hearing to studio version. Identical.
I randomly rented this videotape from my local video store in 2001. I never took it back and have been a huge fan ever since
Progressive Metal from 40 years ago, TIMELESS.......
If this is not edited afterwards, probably the best live performance in history of music...
This is an incredible live performance.
Best live concert I ever see was maiden halford and queensryche
One of rocks greatest moments.........just ridiculous .....nothing even comes close nowdays !
