Powdered cheese was in great demand by the US military quartermaster corp to feed soldiers in WWII. When the war ended they had a shi- -, er at lot of this stuff and not a lot of soldiers to feed. The quartermaster offered to sell some to Charles Doolin. It was such a good price the Doolin bought all of it. He had no use for the product but he saw a good deal. Once he had it he added it to a corn puff and Cheetos were born.

downside to powdered peanut butter is that you lose the best part which is the fat. we need a certain amount of fat to avoid protein toxicity hence why sustaining on something like rabbits alone does not work. the rest are great options, not sure i would want to waste money on powdered peanut butter, since i have beans and rice for protein.

@@irislewis4711 ya if you are using it for short term that works. if you store it for long term then you need to grow a sustainable source of fat like sunflowers lots of them to press fat from the seeds. since fats and oils go rancid after 1-3 years. so if you are storing it for long term not so great. mostly it is good for adding to smoothies as having the fat removed makes it blend better with smoothies.

Powered food, dehydrated food, freeze dried foods are expensive so they are not for everyday use for the average person. I think they are mostly intended to be survival food in the event of a disaster, Hurricanes, tornado’s, flooding, power grid interruptions, etc. Many people have been buying these kind of foods little by little since the pandemic in 2000. Also, watch for sales. I like powdered tomato’s and freeze dried fruits and vegetables because there is no waste.

The instructions for reconstituting powdered, dehydrated, freeze dried foods should be on the label. Yes, they all require broth, water, or some liquid to reconstitute them.

Probably most folks won't need to store 30 years. Food will first things people will ransack or kill for. Problem is will be alot of waste by ransakers because they won't know how to use or value due to ignorance or laziness. We live in world of instant gratification and there will be much death.
