8 Months of Hair Growth - Phase 8 of Growing My Hair Out

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel and for what is just about 8 months of hair growth!
I honestly can’t even deal with how quick the last few months have gone. Nonetheless, I’ve had an interesting month and could probably guess that you have too.
For anyone new here who wants to join the Mn Buns & Manes Facebook group community, click here: manbunsandmanes.com/
So here’s what happened this month for me:
Chapter Overview
00:00 - Intro
00:16 - Who Makes Short Shorts?
If you haven’t seen my first #shorts hair tutorial yet, I’d really appreciate it if you give it a watch and let me know your thoughts: • Medium Length Awkward ...
In a nutshell, KZread Shorts are KZreads answer to TikTok as a social platform. Shorts videos can go for a maximum of 1 minute and you really gotta be able to say a lot in very few words so for me it’s a challenge haha.
I hope the tutorial helps you get through stage 7 & 8 of growing your hair out!
02:12 - The Hair Haters Emerge
Omg, so this month I’ve been asked if my hair is actually real, I’ve been asked if I’ve had a perm and someone has also said to me that I look like I have a Jheri curl…
Obviously this is absurd because it’s actually my natural hair but it’s just interesting how people NEED to say something lol.
Just an observation and I’m still not mad at it haha.
I also paid tribute to this month's Sponsor Skillshare who have been helping me learn the art of time lapse photography. The time lapse snippet I shared in Check In 5 sparked the desire for me to learn so when the sponsorship came up I jumped at it immediately!
If you missed the time lapse snippet in Check In 5, click this link: • 5 Months of Hair Growt...
05:03 - Time To Retreat!
In this part of the video I escaped to Hervey Bay in Queensland Australia for a end-of-quarter retreat with work. I also had an extreme hangover and showcased my amazing 2 week unwashed hair lol. I’ve been a bit all over the shop this month tbh.
I also showcase my first aerial hyper lapse in this part of the video too which was really fun!
07:45 - The 8 Month Measure
As per usual, I don’t like leaving too may comments in this section… You’ll have to go and watch haha.
10:14 - My Final Words
A few things have been on my mind lately and I wanted to use this section to just talk freely about it.
If you’re interested in checking out the climate change platform I came across via Jacks Gap, it’s super worth the watch and is a great first step in understanding the various different issues regarding climate change: www.waterbear.com/
Thanks so much again for coming back to watch me. It really means the world.
Please let me know how you’re going with your hair growth journey in the comments and I look forward to seeing you in my next video!
Yours in good hair,
Thomas In Action.

You could always start a series/playlist on your channel where you style your hair and talk about issues you want to talk about. Like how make up artists do the “get ready with me” type videos! That way, you can have the best of both worlds content-wise 😊

Thomas, with regards to contributing to men's health. I believe you are doing this in your own way by inspiring others to be themselves, set goals for hair growth and supporting people through the dreaded awkward stage. Setting up communities where people can talk and share information is awesome. Don't beat yourself up too much mate. I appreciate the inspiration.

I've been growing my hair out from an undercut man bun for 9 months, and today I finally managed to get most of it in a little low bun :) I'm so happy! The sides are still only 12-13cm (about 5 inches), so there are some loose ends to tuck away with bobby pins, but I feel like FINALLY I'm getting close to my goal of having a full man bun. Thanks Thomas, your updates and awkward stage inspirations have gotten me through the rough part (we have the same unruly hair type)!

I thought it was so interesting that you mentioned that you’ve been thinking a lot about what you want to do with your life and wanting to go deeper, I guess? (Correct me if I’m wrong) I love that you mentioned men’s mental health and climate change. I am very interested in those things as well and I’m excited to see what you’ll possibly share in the future! But as far as men’s mental health goes, please share some helpful info in the future. I think you were hinting at possibly doing a collaboration with Trav White about men’s mental health and I think that would be freaking amazing!!! Please do!

Hey Thomas, I think your content so far is going amazing. You have more blank canvas's to paint over metaphorically if you were to jump into other realms of content, I would start with how mental health and self care correlate, you demonstrate this effectively with gym routines and hair growth.

Love your environmental consciousness, the best thing you can do is continue to speak about it. Individuals really can’t make a huge impact (ie. recycling and reusable straws and shopping bags are great, but in the long run the corporations release so many pollutants every day) but with enough people on board we can start a revolution

@@limelighter1 So that is certainly an exaggeration my friend it is not 13 years until all of humanity dies in an instant it is 13 years until we enter into tipping points that upset ecological equilibriums that humans and countless other organisms need in order to survive and thrive. One of these tipping points that has already started is the acidification combined with the warming of our oceans causing massive coral bleaching and wrecking biodiversity in the oceans. Much of the oceans biodiversity lives in the coral reefs and many of the fish which occupy our open oceans grow up in the coral reefs so a massive part of the ecosystem in the ocean is currently being destroyed by climate change. There are many, many other tipping points, for example the arctic ice melting will increase the sea level to a point that almost every major city inhabited by humans will either be underwater or have sea walls and basically every island country will be gone. Another issue with climate change is that as it gets worse extreme weather events become worse and more common so things like forest fires, hurricanes, floods, atmospheric rivers, snowstorms, droughts, bomb cyclones, etc are going to become more common and more intense. Also, as droughts become more common and last longer and more areas on Earth desertify there will be massive famines, water shortages, and people fleeing areas at the equator where it will soon be to hot to live. This will lead wars over food and water and massive migrations the likes of which the world has never seen and during our most recent refugee crisis there was a surge in fascism aorund the globe. Not to mention cabon dioxide is not good to inhale and can lead to many respiratory issues and we should not be putting it in the air for that reason alone.

  • @Eraeraeric

It's true the climate change crisis is not widely spoken about not taken seriously, the fate of the planets future is at Great risk if we don't take action immediately, great job for talking about it :)
