The emotions that Alexandre is expressing at 3:03 is one of the best feelings you can have. You fight hard for the grip, you power through the technique and when the opponent finally hits the floor, all that tension releases in a rush because you fkn beast did it.

Am I missing something? It seems like all these "fights" end when a back touches the mat. Is that the point of Judo? Because I've won as many fights from the ground as I have while standing. In 75% of these, I kept thinking 'Raise the knee to the back of the jaw while grounded and the fight is done.' I was considering taking judo, but if *THIS* is what constitutes a win, then I would be better off with BJJ.

I could never do Osoto Gari no matter how much I practiced it. I was too skinny and I could not generate the sweeping power in my legs. That said a failed Ostoto Gari can lead to a nice Sae sae tsukiru komi ashi if one is quick enough. That did not happen very often either but when it did it was sweet. I was lousy at judo - too skinny and too light but I loved it.
