The weird thing is that Kansas had one loss to the #3 team in the country by one possession on a neutral field, and the national champion LSU had 2 losses. Kansas was definitely underrated that year. I don't think they have been underrated since, but that year they certainly were. Great team!

I would consider Kansas the 2007 national champions as well. Them and Hawaii had the best records (12-1). As you mentioned, Kansas's only loss was a 36-28 loss to Missouri, while Hawaii's only loss was a 41-10 loss to Georgia.

What's crazy is that Kansas wouldn't of even made the CFP if it was used in 2007, which is a reason why I support expansion.

@@CFB_Tube Maybe the CFP would rank them differently, but what I was saying was that they weren't in the top 4 in the final BCS rankings. The top 4 was Ohio State, LSU, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma. Kansas was #8.

Kansas was so underrated that season. 12-1 isn’t easy to pull off especially in the big 12 back then. Mangino was really the savior of Kansas football

It's like in 2008 where USC lost to ORST in like week 4 as a #1 and never got as high as #3 again even though they won out CFB was much less rewarding back then, one loss meant the Holiday Bowl for some teams

Kansas had a super underrated team that year. Only successful football season in school history I think too. Thanks for posting the video bro!

@@Iconhulk but my guy, I have hope for the guys with the coach they've got. I think something could be brewing. It's never over night. Kind of like the chiefs after signing Reid. It was a gradual process that eventually gave us the teams we've had the past 4-5 years.

They were even ranked number 2 until they lost to Missouri that year, possibly the wildest college football there ever was. Missouri,Kansas, West Virginia,South Florida, and Cal were all number 2 at some point that year 🤣

Add it to the list Unfortunately. DIEHARD Fan born in 82 here. The biggest tragedy was passing Bo Jackson…. One of THE NASTIEST Defensives top to bottom the KINGDOM has ever known and A backfield of Bo & Nigerian Nightmares during an era of Run Happy Marty-Ball would have yielded more Trophies than new england could ever count.
