The Toyota 2000 GT is such a beautiful machine. Like the legendary E Type
In the late 70's I bought a roller cam setup that was intended for the 289 Dragon Snake from a former mechanic from Shelby American.... he said it was never used due to a rule change. He had a trunk full of Shelby parts including a Weber carb setup. I wished at the time I could buy it all.

@@Robert-tj3qq I still have the cam, lifters and rev kit... it's an Engle cam , still covered in cosmoline and with the Shelby American tag. I'm hoping to build a Factory Five Daytona Coupe soon, if the current gang of criminals are voted out this year. I think that cam would be perfect for a 331 inch Windsor with the Italian made Weber 48 carbs I inherited from an old racer. As for the rest of the stuff the old machinist had in his trunk, who knows?

@@Robert-tj3qq No , it would be a 289/302(5.0) block stroked with a 3.25 inch crank. I'll probably use a Ford Racing 4 bolt main block. Basically a 327 Ford. I have a set of 1969 351 Windsor heads that have been ported, that I'll use. I want to keep it old school looking.... with a few improvements inside.
Knew about all these but the Shelby Dodges are easily my favorite. Would love a CSX or GLHS Charger. Not listed but would love a Shelby Lancer too!
This is good video pd evolution I like it actually
You forgot the 1999 Series 1 car that he design n built 249 of !

My buddy had an all white Shelby shaddow. The car unfortunately was really rusty but that motor is in his town and county wagon and it runs 11.90’s in the 1/4 on drag n drive events
I saw one of those shelby durangos at LAX in 2001. You forgot the Shelby Daytona Super Coup
I'm kind of doubting that the Scaglietti Corvette had a 4.3 liter fuel injected small block making 315hp. A 4.3 liter small block Chevrolet V8 in the 1950s would have been a 265, but the 265 didn't have fuel injection. The first fuel injected Chevrolet small block was the 283, which developed 283 hp in 1957. By the 1960 model year, which started in the calendar year 1959, the fuel injected 283 made 315 hp, exactly the the figure stated for the Scaglietti car. A 283 is 4.6 liter, not 4.3 liter.
He did work with lee iaccocca at ford and chrysler
Oh my god , completely different sports cars 😮❤
Need to mention that the 2000GT was designed by Yamaha, Toyota took the design and built just built the car

Wow, as I was looking those beautiful cam covers and intake runners on that straight-6, I thought "They took a page from Yamaha"!... (I had a Taurus SHO, with a totally different Yamaha V-6, but that "nest of snakes" intake manifold was likewise a work of art...)
Cool video
Since the world has gone the way of You Tube Icons now, might as well start a Factory relationship with Cleetus or someone else. Make a Dodge Cleetus edition turbo truck.
The Lone Star was the fastest Hot Wheels in the Dulaxe original toys.
I knew about almost all of these, but I had NO idea about the 2000GT
I didn't know about the Lone star, the Shelby Toyota or the Scaglietti Corvette. That in itself is the most beautiful Corvette ever designed as it looks like the Ferrari 250 GTO. Signed-Richard.
"Expert" never named the Omni GLH. His oddest creation
You also forgot the p90
Who forgot these cars? Maybe I am a "car guy" or whatever the hell that means but I am 42 and haven't seen one car I wasn't familiar with. On the other hand there clearly are lots of people that have never seen almost any of these cars, probably younger guys just discovering their passion for everything automotive and mechanical. The content is good but you're really going to have to dig deep, everybody watches all of the big car shows like Vizio racer Leno and the laundry list of other guys building every single car with every single swab you can imagine. One of non production cars are always the most interesting. They show where the company was headed or their willingness to change course and try wild stuff. Trucks and motorcycles are always good too 🤷🏼 keep it up.
Durango hp numbers were weak sauce
Shelby and Toyota. I never knew.
I had no idea Shelby tuned a 2000GT
Only thing Shelby made for any of those truck ,cars,,was the stickers!!!😂😂😂😂
I think Frank Sinatra drives a Dodge Shelby Charger at the end of Cannonball Run 2.
Missed quite a few cars.

Shelby-DeTomaso P70??
What great sports Enzo Ferrari and Chev were pressuring them not to make that Corvette based race car lol.
They are a couple of cars you are missing some of these were made in the land down under and a few others

The FWD Shelby Chrysler cars were a stain on Shelby's reputation. Awful little cars with plastic interiors, terrible build quality and when the turbo kicked in they'd change lanes the torque steer was so bad. I drove one of the "Charger" (a fastback Omni) and said "Ole Shel must need the money real bad to hang his name on this piece of...."

A new GLHS Omni beat a hot-rodded Gt 350 Shelby Mustang around streets of willow racetrack in late 1986, torque steer and all. Carroll also quoted saying the Omni GLHS was one of his favorite cars. Cry more.

Totally ruined Shelby's reputation for me. It's funny because it's true, I guess. Now I don't even want to watch Ford vs Ferrari ever again.
