8 Infuriating Side Quests You're Never Going to Finish

Ойындар

Collecting 100 feathers in Assassin's Creed 2, running five miles in GTA 5, or finding 440 Riddler trophies in Batman Arkham City: some optional side missions are so tedious or time-consuming that we took the optional part seriously and opted to never finish them. Consider eight of our least favourite and subscribe for a video like this on the regs: www.tinyurl.com/SubToOxbox
Take the side mission to collect feathers side mission in Assassin's Creed 2. Head back to Ezio's villa in Monteriggioni and you'll discover that Ezio's mum Maria is super keen for you to fill a box in her bedroom with loose bird bits, apparently because that's what her late son Petruccio was doing before he died.
She wants you to find and bring her 100 of these filthy, probably disease-carrying feathers. These are scattered across the entire game in dangerously precarious spots, where at any point you could slip off a ledge and die.
Or how about the Riddler trophies from the Batman Arkham series? These trophies are meant to prove The Riddler's intellectual superiority over Batman, but at best they prove that he has so little going on in his life that he has the time to plant these things all over the city. At worst, they actually lead Batman to his location and get him arrested.
This hobby of Riddler's reached its nadir in Batman Arkham City, in which there were 440 Riddler trophies scattered around the map.
I argue it's a much better revenge on the Riddler for you to just completely ignore his stupid, time-consuming sidequest, and you just go off and do cool Batman stuff instead.
That's to say nothing of sourcing 114 mystical shards to unlock a mystical temple in Dragon Age: Inquisition, or the massive faff of getting five special Triple Triad cards off of the alleged Queen of Cards in Final Fantasy 8.

Tell me about it...I liked most of the quests,EXCEPT for the quest where you have to friggin' STEAL,which the game does NOT joke around with punishing you for the aforementioned theft. But...I think my least favorite mission is probably the questline for Lord Harkon. SO.FREAKING.IRRITATING.

My point is I spent ages in sanctuary and would go to Preston for the quests because I wanted settlements to build in and as soon as you get the castle the radio can give you the quests and you can send him to the castle along with sterges. I always play as an assassin type character, but I always do the arena. If nothing else the exhibition shows you can do as grand champion are a nice little earner for very little effort. And if like me you like to walk that line of being good/bad those 31 fame points can keep you on the right side of some people. 😂

I always loved these types of side quests because the completion rate is always so low on the achievements especially the riddle trophies. Plus when I was younger I couldn’t afford new games so I would play the same ones over and over again so the long quests let me get more time out of the game. I still remember hunting down those damn feathers in AC2

Le reddit silver member the feather quest was long and annoying and some needed you to pull of feats that took multiple tries to get. In later ac games it actually got worse like in unity and syndicate where you had glitches that where near impossible to actually get.

Oh and I'm going to bug you about it every ten minutes making me even more annoying than Preston for the duration. I kind of liked the firewalker quests in mass effect 2 because I was one of like three people that enjoyed running around on planets with the Mako. Not saying that the Firewalker was my favourite part of the game, but it wasn't that bad in my opinion. What took me much longer was a side mission in Time Spiltters 2 called Nice Threads and is one of the reasons ill never get all golds in the Arcade of that game. It took me about ten years to just get a silver. Off and on play and many hours of yelling at the game for being cheap scumbags. You have semi-decent amount of time to beat it if you don't mind a bronze, but I believe under five if you want a gold. Trust me... Its harder than it sounds.

the nirnroot thing actually gets you a really good reward, that's why its not on here. The potions you can buy are really good: Nighteye, Fortify Health and Fatigue 20 points, Fortify Blade, Blunt, Destruction, Restoration, Security and Sneak 10 points. Lasts 300 seconds. Additionally, finishing the quest line gives you an incredibly high disposition with Sinderion. He also has an extremely low Mercantile skill. This makes him one of the best merchants in the game.

Literally every beggar in the entire game. And no you do not get updates on the quest, and no you don't get any quest markers. So if you accidentally missed one you might as well start all over. If anything is a total pain it's the stones of barenziah; cus they are all over the world. You chose the Arena questline over collecting every single Nirnroot in Cyrodil? What's wrong with you!? You could finish the whole Arena questline within two in-game days as soon as you left the dungeons, but Nirnroot collecting? They're rare as all hell, and the only two hints you have to find them are "they grow by water" and "they make a noise". And there's like a hundred of them all over the place. The sad thing is, that's not even the only annoying collection sidequest in Oblivion. You've also got the one where you have to collect Shadowbanish Wine, if you want to crawl around the dank, uninteresting forts scattered around Cyrodil.

Hannah its funny, I'd heard from several people how annoying the feathers were to collect, but just by exploring the game naturally I was able to find 60-70 percent of them. Using the map to see what sections the remaining feathers were in I was able to find the rest after just a few hours. I was almost let down by how easy it was, and had expected a far greater challenge. The thing that took me much longer to finish were the missions from the pigeon coops.
