Another 2 years and it's grown back *thicker* with less grey AND I now have curls! At 60, I'm loving my hair and will let it grow as long as possible....

As an African American, I have suffered all my life with hair that wouldn't grow. Now that I'm older and wiser (59 years old), I learned how to make it grow, and it is longer than it's ever been. I want to rival Lady Godiva - even if I live to be 100!

Lol I like your confidence. I feel bad about my long hair now. I'd cut it short but it grows fast and within two months, it won't look good anymore. Plus it's low maintenance and healthy... I don't know. I'll see.

I asked my stylist if I should have short hair now I'm 50. She said "only if you want to look old" Short hair ages some people. I, personally, love my long hair and I I'm going to keep it long and never will I have a fringe xxxxx

They want to make long, feminine, healthy and natural hair unpopular because they are afraid to face the truth - healthy, natural hair is the sign of healthy, happy, feminine woman. Beauty industry does not benefit from those women, they want women to feel insecure and depressed, they want you to cut and dye and layer and destroy your hair so that you would look like any other overstressed and overworked, unhappy woman who lost her crown to the idiocracy. Long hair is much more rejuvenating than short hair. Short hair make all imperfections in the face stand out. Long hair adds mystery and is sign of good health.

My grandmother has long hair down to her butt, and she looks like she is in her 30's or 40's, but she is in her 50's. Also her hair is naturally silver,brown,black,and red. It's crazy, but her hair is really beautiful!

Okay, I'm over all the long hair hate. I'm 34 and have light auburn/red hair down to my knees and I still get carded for R rated movies. I've had long hair all my life. As I have gotten older, people feel the need to tell me to cut my hair because long hair is for young girls. That is total bull. If the hair is healthy, well taken care of, and not excessively thin, then long hair can and should be rocked by any age.

My family, back in the UK, is always telling me to cut mine. Do I ever tell them to grow their hair? Or stop bleaching it? Nope. It's their hair. Had I had chemo last year I would have lost it all. I'm all the more grateful for it now and my family can KMA!

God I hope you didn't, I went from hair past my butt to a shaved head, loved the shaved head but missed my hair so much and I've never managed to regain the length. Plus growing out a shaved head sucks, you find cowlicks you never knew existed.

it must be gorgeous! jet black hair shines the most which makes it look the healthiest. just take care of it properly, feed your hair with natural masks and don't overwash it with harmful shampoos. Not every expensive shampoo is good, I was disappointed more than I expected from famous brands. Ask for samples. Read the labels what's inside. The more fancy chemicals they have, especially with TM sign (trademark) the shittier the product is, regardless of brand and price. Research what minerals and vitamins are essential to your type of hair and look for those products in shampoo. And if your hair is long... wow.. you must look like a goddess of the earth. don't make mass idiots turn you into slave.

yes! just keep it healthy. short hair isn't for everyone and in fact ages people because short hair exposes the face's imperfections and with age that's spots, wrinkles and blemishes that come to attention even more with short hair.

My mom is 83 with long hair down to her butt. She is beautiful to me. And she doesn't dye it. Grey and beautiful.

I disagree. It will depend on the individual. Some short cuts make you look older. The same with coloring your hair and makeup look. I believe people should experiment with styles and color and wear what they feel beautiful with.

I've always wanted extremely long hair, it's mesmerizing and gorgeous to me. Short hair has never appealed to me and I've found it a bit unattractive no matter the face shape.

i'm basically doing the opposite of all these things.....i love my long hair!!!

I'm used to have straight, long hair cut straight across with/ without bangs. I've been doing that for years, but finally did a shoulder length hair cut that is straight across but still has layers and when I put it up, it's in a short little cute bun. cooIt's cool, I'm 44 and have had the same style hairdo since 1991. But I did like a little choppy cut in it in where it has different lengths and I think it's real cute.

I am 64 and letting my hair grow out long. Plus natural color which is white in the front! Low maintenance! No getting it cut every 3-4 weeks and getting the white roots colored. This is freedom!! I love it!

You'll look old regardless of how your hair is cut. I have really long, blunt cut hair and I don't look my age. It's your face that matters most

this video is full of bias and doesn't take into account the beauty of many natural traits which were mentioned as being 'aging' and so on: black hair and blue eyes/dark skin, extreme volume for those with very fine curls, those with naturally contrasting colours in hair and complexion, having your hair styled in ways that make you feel great or are deemed traditional or widely accepted in different cultures. in fact most of the information in this video sounds like what was popular decades ago.. :/

I stopped dyeing my hair a few years ago and then let it grow out after years of being very short. I'm 62 and this is what my 62 looks like. (BTW, I make shampoo at home and only need to wash my hair every 5-6 days. You don't need more products: you need fewer of them.)

my mom has her grays on display, a bob & with naturally wavy hair. They say it ages you or makes you look older than you are. Actually, when I look at the older women around me I can't help but cringe, a number of times that they have died their hair & their roots kills its natural beauty, why do people fight age? You should embrace it & I personally think the most beautiful women I have EVER seen was an old woman who lived under me when I was younger, she had long hair down to her waist & gray hair on display, which she would either braid or do a messy bun with. She was absolutely beautiful, then I would go out in public & sadly put my gaze upon these weird old ladies, they think it makes them look good, haha, no. Let your hair be as it will be, cut off the ends, style it to your liking, don't fuck it up with colors, get a good shampoo & conditioner for *YOUR* hair type, find some type of healthy hair mask on the internet & be happy! I hate the gray strands growing out on my scalp i do root touch ups every 4 months cause i'm not ready to be grey headed just yet and it does not look good with my dark brown hair.. I even pluke them out with tweezers sometimes i can't stand the gray..

This is true for me. I have light skin and everytime i dye my hair black it makes me look older, i notice, since i was a teenager even. But blond or rainbow colours make me look younger. I also had my hair super long last year with no layers and then i just cut it to abit past my shoulders and added bangs and everyone says i look in my early 20's now rather than my current age of 29.

99% of the hairdresser's advice is to cut 'em short... i personally find most of the 45+ ladies with "trendy" bob or short cuts looking their age or even older... longer STRAIGHT shiny hair with movement will do the trick

I shaved my hair recently and I don’t like how much older I look with a pixie. I haven’t gotten it trimmed yet because I’m going for the one year mark. But the pixie cut isn’t for me. :( I miss my long hair.
