I couldnt do dutch braids for years. Then I saw someone say, "Dont look in a mirror when you're teaching yourself" and that honestly made it click. Relying on just feeling the hair instead of getting confused by watching myself in a mirror made it so much easier to get the hang of it and practice. I hope this helps someone else.

meh, not required. My thick wavy hair is prone to frizz, but braiding always makes it look nice. A little practice is all it takes to do good braids, no matter how "terrible" your hair is. Braiding on my hair is honestly a lot easier than most other styles. My hair has a tendency to bust out of ponytails, and break clips.

Sophie Jones messes up as in at the bottom of short hair it’s generally layered at least a little bit to prevent it from looking blunt and choppy, so when we braid our short hair the bottoms have pieces sticking out everywhere or even sometimes the whole braid just falls apart when the hair binder goes on

It's exactly how I wanted mine to look & I prefer doing the strands at the same time too bc it's how it keeps them as 1 defined & beautiful outcome bc you do it correctly as you go! Thank you so much for doing this even w/ such a cutie that you could just be enjoying! I appreciate all your help & beautiful, fun spirit! It really saves time & aggravation that give such beautiful results! You are truly beautiful & are such a special person! Thank you so very much! You're fantastic & I don't even bother watching anyone bc I enjoy you so much & I'm regaining my love for braids that I did for so many others but didn't take the time to enjoy them on myself! Bc of all your help & wonderful personality, it inspired me to take the time for me 1st before I give so much of myself to & for others! It's great feeling like I look & feel so much better! I can't thank you enough for all you're giving to me & so many others! I'd watch ANYTHING that you want to share bc you're so beautiful inside & out & it's real! You can't fake what radiates from you the entire time- true beauty is so rare today. You honestly are such a beautiful young woman who's a gift to all who see you! I'm so grateful I found you!

I started watching these braiding videos shortly after having my beautiful daughter in 2020 and her hair started getting more and more curly so I knew I had to get busy with the braids. I love experimenting with her hair and educating myself on her texture needs. I go on a lot of other channels on here that cover her needs better but I finally started french braiding my own hair as well in my mid 30s so we can both rock great hairdos 😍.

I just recently taught myself how to Dutch braid! I'm still trying to master the technique, these hair styles are so cute!! I found that if you have highlights in your hair it looks so much better, because my hair color just went back to natural and it doesn't look as good as yours. The highlights add dimension and fullness as all dark brown doesn't. But the styles still came out super cute on myself!! Thx for the styles and video. Love all ur videos!!😊😊💕💕

A tip for non manageable hair: try and wet your hair just a little bit before you start braiding and just try to go really slow and make controlled movements. Hope this helped :)

It just takes practice and trial and error. Dont be afraid to take a hairstyle you see and like and tweek it a little to make it work for you. As far as having black hair...my daughter has jet black hair and i will use chalk to put in temporary highlights. The cool part is you can experiment with different colors and see what stands out best on you. One thing I have finally learned with hair, make up, and clothes is that CONTRAST is where its at almost always!!!

Step 1: Have super perfect hair with the correct color that you can just pull up and do a sleek ponytail and not worry for it to fall down or tangle. Step 2: Have the skill. Step 3: Have the materials needed (bobby pins, U pins, hair accessories, hair spray, etc) Step: 4 Have faith in yourself. Step 5: Attempt hairstyle for 5 times, failing worse than the one before. Step 6: Give up. Step 7: Stop and cry in corner. Repeat.
