My Shih tzu ripped my heart out when she died in my arms. She was 13. I cry every day for her.

Joseph I am so sorry for your loss. I too had my Shih Tzu pass away in my arms on the way to the emergency vet at 330am on August 15th.2023. He was 14 years old. I miss my little boy Ruben every day.

I share your pain, my little chihuahua passed a year ago, we were together for almost 17 years, I know how hard this can be. As a single person I know how hard this is. I am so sorry for your loss

I feel for you, my girl Zoey just passed 2 weeks ago I still cry when I think of her she brought me 12 years of happiness

I believe all Shih Tzus are adorable dogs.

I will never forget my little girl Sash and my son Hyphen.

My God...am I listening to a clairvoyant? I had a black shih tzu, and it really was the best dog I ever had! I'm looking to find another one.

6.25 looks just like The Mighty Mister Mugsy Malone (Mugsy for short.) The vet estimated his age at 5 and we had him for another 12 years,. I don't know that I will get another Shih Tzu. He was a stray and I was at the animal shelter the day he arrived. Strange story, but I stopped at a yard sale and there was a picture of a Shih Tzu on a table. and I said to hubby "that looks exactly like Mugsy". The man hosting the sale said the woman who lived there died and the dog ran off. It was definitely my Mugsy.

No matter what type of Shih Tzu this video tries to tell all them are pure soul. We need to stop differentiate between them that breed not good or this breed is good.

I agree with you when you said we should not show any difference between the Shih Tzus on the video by judging what breed is good or not. I truly believe all Shih Tzus are adorable dogs.

Looks like mine is a brindle shih tzu he always barks at stranges and acts like a gaurd dog.😅

I agree with you when you said every dog is blessed, especially when they have owners who love and care for them.

My Tzu name was Vader.. he was a black beautiful handsome boy.. smart fearless and very protective of me.. he lived to be 12.. he was my heart and took half of me with him❤❤🌈🌈

We have a female imperial shih tzu and a male American our female is getting close to the end of her life and it breaks our heart idk what our male will do when she’s gone they are best friends

These are colours mainly not types

Our shih tzu is mostly black with a little gray mixed in a white beard and a white toe. We adopted her two yrs ago the vet said she was about two. So she was four this week she is the most loving dog we have ever had she is in my lap or my husband lap she sleeps on the bed with us. She bonded with us the night we brought her home. She has brought us so much love, joy stole our hearts. We love her so much I hope and pray she has a long life we r 76 and 77.

I hope you live a long life. But let me tell you about shih tzus they get very depressed when their owners are gone. My shih Tzu Charlie we found him on the side of the house on Thanksgiving 2012. Or at least I did he was about maybe 18 weeks. I gave him to my father. After 2 weeks of resting up. took off to find his family. I can't even talk about it it breaks my heart. So in short do your pet a favor and have a back-up plan for him.

My 4 mos. old shih tsu falls under european type, very friendly and energetic, flying on stairs and couch im going to have a heart attack he might hurt his legs hes unstoppable.

Kue is our shih tsu. he is a ruffian who bullies my GSD and fiercely protective of my wife.

Let me tell you about my American shih Tzu Charlie happy me 11 years for 5 years we were homeless. Most of the time we had a vehicle but sometimes we didn't I live in Dallas-Fort Worth. A lot of times we had to go into the city in you know it's the metroplex. I never put a I never put a leash on this dog I hate to even call him a dog. He was so freaking smart. Okay I had to train him how to cross intersections by himself without getting ran over and I'm talking about busy interstate 35 intersections. It wasn't hard to do he was so he was very smart in that it would please him to want to cross intersections, by himself or on my command. But something else he would do, he would train himself to do things. It was crazy. People would ask, how did you get him trained to do that, or who trained your dog for you? Honestly, he came from the factory like that. I can't say not say enough about Charlie. He was the best,he was the best. However, he crushed me when he passed away.

Im a dog groomer these dogs are usually the aggressive ones on my table i dont unerstand why theres many sweet ones but quite a few snappy ones

Does the Imperial Shih Tzu have health problems due to its unusually small bred size? It's abnormal to breed a dog this small. Doing so also gives the dog miniature organs which can fail.

How was the Asian shih tzu skipped??? Didńt they came from Asia??? I think they should have been added. Asian ones are normally smaller 3-6kg and beautiful. We have 2 of them. Bought from Thailand

Tibetan Monks bred them. Only Chinese royalty could own them. Some type of civil unrest in China around the late 1800's almost caused them to become extinct. That's about all I know about their history.

Health risks aren't mentioned. That's my biggest concern.

My shih Tzu almost 16 ,they are generally real fit dogs, you just have to take care of their eyes keeping them clean and using dry eye drops when they get older. Great dogs.

Don’t listen to anyone on this post. They have no idea what they’re talking about. There is only one Shihtzu dog. It was developed in Tibet hundreds of years ago. There are only well bred Shihtzu and bad bred. Learn about the Shihtzu dog from A.K.C. Channels. My best advice to yo7 when buying a puppy is to ask if both parents have been genetically screened for health problems common to the Shihtzu dog. Learn about any breed before buying….. Good luck!

My black shih tzu had the most beautiful coat. Does not like a hair cut, especially around his eyes, he will bite. Any suggestions?😮

Stop it…..You’re spreading bad information, false information! There is absolutely only one kind of SHIHTZU Dog. It was developed in Tibet no matter where the breed has ended up geographically. There is only well bred shihtzu and badly bred. The name I s pronounced “She-zoo” .

Make a good guard dog? Are you kidding me? All someone has to do is kick it or stomp on it! They're cute; but little dogs are not my thing! I prefer a big dog! Teacup Shih tzus can't handle rough play? That makes them SO useless! Sorry, but my cats are more useful and their meows don't annoy me like the yelping loud cries of those dogs. I like Shih Tzus; but I don't want one! Yorkies, Pomeranians, and Papillons, HELL NO! Can't stand them!
