Thanks for the tip about vinegar and hot water. Will have to remember that in the future. If i remember right, there are some old masters that used a pin with string to draw in circles and there are still pinholes in their canvas from it, having a non-pokey version should be handy. I have a Bob Ross 1" landscape brush (pretty soft) I basically use just to smooth out paint the same way, though I think I use it more just to reduce the uneven glare from a light I use while painting...

I have been following you for while now. As a self learner artist took me years to collect the right information, technics e.t.c from different tutorials and they are never enough. But you just knows how to combine and express the most important information in a way that is so easy to understand and even the emotional aspect of the things. You can't imagine how helpful that is to any artist that don't have a financial opportunity to take any lesson or go to art school. I highly appreciate your work and THANK YOU SO MUCH ABOUT ALL!😊

Hi Florent! Thank you for the truly interesting and useful techniques. I've been painting for a while now, but several of them were surprises to me. I was particularly surprised by the boiling water and vinegar tip, as elsewhere one is told to not clean brushes in hot water because it supposedly breaks down the glue binding the hair (in some brushes). Is that a myth or simply not a problem for brushes that depend exclusively on the ferrule to hold the bristles/fibers in place ...??? In any case, I'm your Newest Subscriber. Thanks again.
