This made me pull out my copy of Rocky on the Master System. I haven't played it in probably twenty-five years. Man, do my hands hurt. Next time you complain a game is just a button masher, put this baby on, and you'll see what a button masher really is. Can't get any further against Lang than I could when I was a kid. I'd like to think I've learned my lesson, and that was all the nostalgia I needed, but I won't be surprised if I fire it back up in a few days.

Cant wait to see what else NECA gives the 8-Bit treatment to! Thanks for the video Dan.

James Rolfe would be going nuts if he saw this figure, the guy even did a Documentary movie called "Rocky Jumps a Park Bench" detailing all the filming locations around Philly. This figure is awesome though :-)

You know what would put the box art over the top, if they have the box made out of the resuable black packages with the plastic slip for the wrap-around label. Kinda cool how they are moving from NES to SEGA. :)

Just got this figure for my collection. While I never owned a Sega Master System, I do own the Rocky video game from 2002 for the Nintendo Gamecube. I love the look of this figure, seeing it takes me right back to my childhood when I played 8 bit video games. It looks even better in person, than it does here.

NECA made Robocop vs. Terminator figures for the Sega Genesis. Seen em at TRU.

I hope neca toys will come out with a nes rocketteer or a nes ninja turtles set. That would be so sick!

Great review. You should also review the 16bit inspired Robocop vs Terminator figures. 2 Robocops, 2 Terminators and also a Twin Pack.

I love this figure and being a life-long Sega fan it's only fitting that it was the first of the 8-Bit NECA releases I owned. Detailing is excellent and the flag accessory is worth a double-dip even if you already have a lot of their other Rocky figures. My only quibble is with the weathered look of the box itself. Unlike NES games that came inside of paper boxes SMS games were released in hard plastic cases (like Genesis games). I own a few SMS boxed games and none of them show any wear or tear at all.

It would be really awesome if they did a TMNT NES toy.

Not painted quite as accurately as the previous ones. Would have been nice if the stripes were a little pixelated, among other things.

I love this figure, though I'm a little disappointed that they didn't add yellow highlights to his gloves the way that it was in the game. I have no complaints otherwise. I love this line. :D

Had this Rocky video game for Sega Master System as a kid and it was difficult. Apollo easy, Clubber Lang, my brother beat only ONCE the entire time we had it. So, we only got to see Drago once and he was impossible.

I sure would love an 8-Bit Godzilla from NECA. I doubt Bandai would do it so it's the perfect chance for them.

Another awesome review Dan! I commented on your other video of the 8 bit Rambo about an NES Mega Man, and SNES Batman forever figures. Another one that would be awesome would be an NES Link from NES Legend of Zelda! But I'm not sure what rights NECA has and doesn't have as far as figure productions? Peace.

Nice Review Dan. I'm surprised they didn't deco him even more like the screen cap with the flag over his shoulders. You know, details like the highlights on the gloves and stuff.
