8 Birds Down.

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

It's the tail end of the 2023 racing pigeon old bird season. With diminishing numbers in the loft I've had to avoid some pigeon races to make sure I have birds for next season. So when I do send to a race, it's hard for the birds to be competitive because they're not racing week in, week out. Racing pigeons 2023 UK.

"He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day" Words to live by when starting out in the sport of pigeon racing. I learned the hard way, when I started racing, that it's better to limit your races and build for the future. You've done amazingly well in your first two seasons Dan, and picking your races carefully will definitely serve you well for next year and the year after. Small team flyers must always be thinking of next season, and making sure you'll have birds to compete. Your yearlings are next year's two year olds and to fly those longer Scots races you need a team of two and three year olds. Glad to see one of your favorites 1983 has returned. Take care of her and let her rest and recover, and get her ready for next year. Looking forward to seeing how your youngbird season goes and how those Belgium birds perform for you.

When you send to Lerwick in the future the birds won’t fly all the sea, they will most likely come down through Scotland over land

Fantastic video dan.... Good to see the explaining of the races. Credit to you for a great ob race year, and with the small team around you. Every hour, day, month, year you learn. theres alot of factual things with pigeons but one thing i love is just trying to think outside the box and try it! you never really know until you do it.... Also love how your sticking it out with what looks like the busy lifestyle etc you lead. Very well done Dan you should be very proud pal 👏👏look forward to the next one 👍

Either stock loft when u build it or you're first 2 year old for next year with 1983. How many young birds do you actually have for this season?, and are they split into 2/3 rounds ??

  • @bxgames4070

Can’t believe you have 3 rounds of young birds. I have enough trouble with 1 round

  • @howtotrainyourpigeon

Started with 41 but I'm at 38 YB now I think. They're all together as splitting into rounds was too much.

Had a feeling when I seen a recent video and noticed not all young birds had moulted out as well as others and thats the age factor, but it's great to play mother nature and see them moult and turn into old birds in less than 12( weeks, last year you lost a lot of second and third rounders as you had pushed them to soon and to young, I hope that doesent happen this year, also you had no second/back up team for the second half of the season when the first rounders start to fall off form wise and realistically should be put away for yearllings next year, hopefully in time you will separate the rounds and all ways have a back up team. If you look on here long distance specialist's don't race young birds, just train them, as yearlings they will get 2-3 races and as 2 year olds+ they get 2 race more for fitness before the step up to long distance races, remember us Irish and English people have 2 fly the water to go long distance's , and it's Not 1bit easy , unlike Belgium and Holland across flat land
