Blue wilderness is what I just bought my cats. It's more expensive but I didn't see any of the bad listed ingredients. $40 for a 12 pound bag of Blue Wilderness vs $28 for a 16 pound bag of Purina One. I'm feeding them the last 4 cans of Friskies so I can start feeding them Blue Wilderness.

last time my parents used to fed my 8 cats steamed albacore tuna mix with rice..all of them lived actively more than 20 years..most even reached 30 years..All passed on peacefully at home of old age..now i just feed my kittens wellness and pro diet and a balance of other brands as well..

Cats actually do care, if you have pets try it out some time. Offer your pet a shapeless, brown nugget food vs a food with shapes and more than one color and see which they go for.

Are you familiar with Beggin' Strips treats for dogs? "It looks just like bacon!" The dog doesn't know what the hell bacon looks like. It's done to make it appealing to the human feeding it not the animal eating it. And that's true for dry or wet pet food. Hill's puts pictures of carrots and peas on the front of their bags. Cats don't eat carrots or peas. It's to make us think it's healthy.

So pretty much every cat food brand that my supermarket and pet shop holds is killing my cat 😂 wtf

I looked it up online, did a little research, I found out cats don't need any grain or veggies, or artificial Anything - and no fillers, but they do need a very high protein and moisture rich food. Think about it, in the wild or domestic life, back in the day, or on a farm, their main food is mice and rats. That's the perfect combo for them, containing the bones, for calcium, the moisture from the mouse's body, and high protein content. I found the best thing with highest protein I could find was: Earthborn Holistic Primitive. With 40% protein, the most important nutrient for cats. Moisture and fiber should be higher, but it's the best I can find/afford. They don't eaT AS MUCH, BECAUSE IT'S HIGH QUALITY SO THE EXTRA COST BALANCES OUT, IN LASTING MUCH LONGER. And they won't get diseases caused by a 'junk food diet', like commercial foods are. funny, just like us, people!

The only 'natural' foods we can feed our cats are grass, mice, fish, and bugs. So if you don't mind gardening (grass), trapping (mice), fishing (fish), and collecting (bugs), then you're okay. Personally, I feed my 5 year old female Friskies Indoor Pate Chicken Dinner with Garden Greens (the ONLY canned food she will eat), and her 5 year old brother (I think he's a vegetarian) wheat grass and Purina Indoor Immune Healthy Blend (the ONLY cat food he will eat). I have spent literally hundreds of dollars buying all kinds of cat food, and these two are the only ones that meet my cat's culinary requirements. These cats will NOT eat anything with gravy or sauce, chunks, or fish - so I feed them what they want. Years ago I had a cat that would eat NOTHING but Friskies Tuna for 16 years. Another cat I had would eat only Friskies Pate that were not fish; he preferred Bumble Bee Tuna in Water. So, the bottom line for me is QUALITY of life. Wonderful! So-and-so's cat lived for 18 years, but she had to fight with the cat at every meal to eat what he/she did not like or want. I give my pets what they like and they love me for it. They get brushed every week, annual physicals and vet care, exercise (padded our wall entries with carpet), and lots and lots of love because that's what make life worth living - in my opinion. They're happy, we're happy, life is good.

People have asked what to feed their cats! Stop the bulkshit and answer the question with a list of products. It's hypocrisy if someone post a video saying most major brands are bad, but refuses to say what is good. When you make this list, make sure the products are affordable. Not everyone can afford to buy real meat for their cats everyday!

i am currently feeding my cat Fussie Cat (wet food) and Equilíbrio (dry food). my mom recently bought home a new wet food called ProDiet. are these three brands okay? i read about Fussie Cat and it has good reviews

my five cents on this: yes, some of these brands are not really good, for me especially Hill's because their dry food is extremely high in salt which simply isn't good for little cat kidneys. I actually tried to exchange the Royal Canin breed food we feed to our three tomcats (and have for the past 13 years) for several organic dry food brands, super high quality stuff, only organic meat, no cereals, grains, soy, corn, nothing of the like, but instad up to 95 pure organic meat content, and the rest vitamins, taurin, and several herbs and fruits. Well, and what can I say, none of our three cats could eat the stuff for a longer time. One of them started throwing these foods up after 5-6 days of eating them, every single time I fed it to him, and it happened with all those super hig quality organic brands we tried (it was about 5 different ones). All three of our cats did like the taste of these foods and ate them, and two of them (as I had to stop feeding it to the first mentioned as he always threw up) who got these foods for two to three months in a row developed skin problems and started losing hair, especially on the upper side of the ears. As soon as I then stopped feeding these theoretically very high quality foods, they all went back to normal, slim, healthy, fit, no digestions problems, and great skin and fur condition. As we have tested this many times for elongated periods over the past five years, it was clear every single time, that the reason for the problems suddenly occuring was because of these new brands of food. And as you critisize brands here who use vegetable oil - may I ask what is wrong about that? I see why you critisize high cereal content for carnivor animals, but a bit of oil? And to add this question: why, in the name of the big blobb is stuff like fruits, different herbs high in essential oils etc in these high quality organic cat foods? Cats don't normally eat cranberries, or basil or rosemary you know? And still they put it in those foods and I do guess that this is what all three of our cats reacted to. So, yeah, there are bad brands on the market, and as cats are carnivores, it's clear that foods mainly consisting of cereal and hig fat content won't be good for them. But the high price organic super high in meat etc. brands can't deliver as well. And I have to agree, we did go back to Royal Canin and the all three cats are in wonderful health, slim and fit with their almost 14 years now.

I saw this video too late and unfortunately already have a month's supply of meowmix. do you think i should still wait for the meowmix to run out? can i at least mix or alternate it with something to make it less bad?

People here are so worried. Fed my cat on dry food all his life and he is perfectly healthy. Don't blame the illness of a cat on food. Being a vet myself, we know what we are saying when we prescribe a diet to you! After all we did go to school and spend many years learning about animals. Please don't disregard tour vet. In the same way you wouldn't disregard your doctor. All animals are different! Just the same way humans are different and individuals. Don't go around bashing companies just because it didn't work for your cat. Just the same way some people have different preferences, dietary needs, palates, digestive flora...same goes for animals. Treat them like individuals and there will never be problem

My cat was 3 when he was given to me and he never ate wet food. The first thing I did was introduce wet food and I give him small amounts of dry ( he seems to cleanse his teeth after a wet meal ). Unfortunately he is a very picky eater ( he will never have a weight issue ) and I feed him what he will eat. He likes Fancy Feast "Medleys", which have a good deal of moisture. I feel that wet food and encouraging water intake is one of the most important issues. Cats tend to not drink enough water and acquire kidney issues.

I'm currently working at pet shop. I'v met 5 people who said they were giving Whiskas/Kitekat dry food to their cats, since it was cheaper food than the others. These cats were very young, most of them didn't live for over 2 years. 4 of them died because of organ failure. And 1 is currently sitting on very strict and expensive diet. It may not cause problems to every cat but be careful of these brands. Please, be careful when buying cat dry food. Make sure there is some real meat inside. Cats don't need dye in their food, it's meant for our eyes not the cats stomach. Also, it's more expensive to feed whiskas and other market foods, your cat is eating it a lot more just because there is not enough meat ingridients & needed nutrients for the satisfaction. Cat may be full for a while but soon he will need more. Also check their litter. Less feces - better. It means your cats stomach is absorbing everything he needs. Everything that comes out is a not needed junk lets say. I'm not saying *stop feeding your cat with market foods*, just be careful. Also, sorry for my english. Have a nice day!

Zeruk Chase I used to feed mine some of these brands listed in the video, but have recently switched over earlier this year to Nutro Max Cat brand. It's good quality ingredients and affordable, I usually buy a big bad for $25-$30 that lasts a month. Check reviews online! :)

Blue Buffalo is horrible! My husband and I work in veterinary medicine and we have seen more than a dozen dogs and cats come in with severe nutrient deficiencies and 9/10 we come to find out they were being feed Blue Buffalo. Also please don't feed your pets grain free, especially dogs as they are omnivores and require more than meat to survive.

Yeah cats are obligate carnivores but unless you feed them a raw diet that has fiber (IE the skin with hair of an animal) they can have digestive issues and trouble passing stool. Which is part of why pet foods have grain in the them.

You may not know this, but when they say “chicken byproduct “ it is a way of describing intestines, heart, liver and other organs that cats eat naturally and those organs provide essential minerals, vitamins and nutrients for cats. Have you ever taken a Animal nutrition class or talked to a nutritionist? Some of the ingredients you think are undesirable are actually beneficial to cats. What makes a food bad is the portion amounts of ingredients.

The reason why it’s problematic is because the company is not being specific with their sourcing - yes, non-domesticated cats would typically eat all organs, but it’s bothersome that a company is not being transparent with their sourcing. For one, many many many cats have food sensitivities to different types of meats and cuts, so having mystery meat in their food is not something that should be encouraged and limits peoples options. Another problem with unnamed meats is that AAFCO (the company that regulates pet food) goes by the 3 DDD’s when it comes to unnamed meats: the dying, dead, or diseased. Meaning: your cat is eating surrendered animals that were either dying, already DEAD beforehand, or sick. This could be a myriad of animals - duck, chicken, cows, pigs, and even animals from shelters.

Is friskies cat treats fine or no I just bought a some of them please tell me?

Well gosh. It's a miracle my cat lived to be a 18 year old cat. I FEEL raw feeding is the best way to go cuz it's most natural. But honestly a majority of cats live very long and healthy lives on just the basic cat foods.

My cat eats tuna. He also likes corn, peas, and carrots from my frozen vegetables. I always have to make enough for both of us. He also loves cream of mushroom soup, chicken breast and some instant oatmeal. If you haven't guessed, I share with him whatever I'm eating, if he likes it. Although, he doesn't usually share his tuna with me.

My cats won't touch a little piece of cooked turkey or chicken. No people food. I don't believe it's good for them. I got a special treat for them, something that smells like tuna but is squeezed out of a tubelike package and they lick it up, a little squeeze at a time, their all time favorite. They will eat tuna, just a tiny bit and that is it, for people food. lol. I feed Earthborn Holistic Primitive dry food. It has 40% protein, much better than most. they eat less, too balancing out the higher cost.

My first cat lived to be 22 years old and I fed her different varieties of Purina Cat all of her life and never had any problems. So for the last 30 years I feed all my cats PURINA! I feed them a can of tuna/water once a week.

My cat has constipation issues. Her vet has had her in Royal Canin gastrointestinal.( it’s expensive too) what is a good brand for this issue?

Just cook your own cat food. Boil fish or meat scraps, even innards works fine. I tried it last month and it's cheaper and healthier for your cat.

Some of the good ones are Nature's Variety Instinct 95% meat (canned), CORE by WellPet, and the Wellness canned foods, especially Turkey and Chicken ... I avoid the fish formulas because once a cat has fish, they sometimes won't eat anything else, and fish can have higher trace metals and ash. Also good are EVO 95% meat canned, and Blue Wilderness 95% meat canned. Dry foods alone are not a natural diet for cats. They are okay for a once per day "snack" type meal. They have only 10% moisture, where canned is more like 70% ... closer to the natural model of hunting live prey. The cats who are free fed a dry only diet often end up with diabetes and urinary tract problems. And giving cats grain foods is a travesty on cat health. I am on every kind of help I can get right now due to cancer, but my cats still eat well. It's a matter of priorities. I can skip lots of things, but I cannot skimp on my cats' diet.

My vet many years ago told me that IAMs was not a good food and neither was Science Diet. She was the one who made me aware back in 2006. Then in 2007 there was that huge pet food recall. None of the good stuff was in the recall. It was the cheaper filler foods and Science Diet in the recall that killed many pets.

I read recently that WellPet and Evo have carageenan gum in them which is thought to be linked to cancer in cats. I don't know enough about it as yet, just some research i've been doing and i thought you might want to look into it :)

As of last week, I took my cat off of Hills c/d and got her onto Nature's variety instinct dry, which is a little better, but now she is hardly touching it, too. She has a follow up vet appointment tomorrow and has not drank or ate anything but two bites today...so scared I am going to lose her...no thanks to over a year of eating Hills c/d. I am also trying to get her onto wet food but so far she won't touch it...might have to start force feeding her to save her. Next I want to move onto raw. I adopted her when she was 3 years old and the folks before me fed her nothing but dry and now it's my duty to do all I can for her. I just hope and pray I don't lose her. Also, she has not pooped in 3 days and the vet gave her a stool softener...obviously it isn't working.

lovelyvegan princess How is your baby now? I hope she is doing better. Force feeding is essential if she won't eat. I force fed my cat Pixie for about 5 weeks after she had a massive health crisis and it literally saved her life. Now she is back to eating on her own. Don't give up, even if the vets do. That's my biggest piece of advice to you.

Oh shit, I feed my cat canned Fancy Feast Chicken Florentine flavors, and Royal Canin dry. Now she will die before she is 7... ;-( Oh, wait, that's right. She is already 17(will be 18 in 3 months)! She can still jump up onto the kitchen counter like she did when she was young, and is in fantastic shape. And I obviously shouldn't have fed my previous cat Fancy Feast either. She lived for ONLY 23 years! Way, way too short a life for a cat!

SirReptitious I think this list was aimed at dry foods, the wet foods of even the bargain brands are actually often pretty decent. In fact, a lot of vets are now saying that they would rather see people feed their cats the cheapest, lowest end canned foods than the highest quality, most expensive dry foods because cats on any form of dry food are chronically dehydrated.

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot over the last few years that dry food is bad, and it does kind of make sense when you think about how it is TOTALLY not like anything they ate in the wild. With all the cats I have had I have fed canned food as the main diet, but with a small bowl of dry food available at all times in case they get hungry in between. I have been lucky that I have never had a cat that I had to restrict food to keep them from getting fat.

Vary the brands you use and use both dry and wet. Make sure you have LOTS of FRESH WATER at all times. Cats can eat Tuna fish (just like we do). I do the best with what I have moneywise. Multi cat household. Regular Vet visits...INSIDE ONLY cats. My cats range in age from 8 months to 12 years with 2, 4, 7 and 8 in between. It's hard to lose a pet, so...just like my children...I do the best I can. They eat some of the brands on that list and I've tried others such a Blue Buffalo, which gave one of my females crystals in her urine within a week. Vet told me that Blue Buffalo was not a great choice. I see the brands that office has, but they may not be the brands I buy. I think it's important to vary the brands you use. If you find one they won't eat...dispose of it and get something else. One cat eats broccoli and some like pieces of block cheese (I don't use processed cheese or margarine), but some don't like cheese. Every cat I own has a different personality and each one may have a 'favorite brand', but they can't tell me that verbally....only by watching HOW they eat can I determine what they do and don't like. So...just like you said.......some of my cats are not 'spring chickens' and they eat some of the brands on that list. I think every Vet may have a different opinion as well. Just saying. I love my cats and I do the best I can for each one of them. Can't ask for more than that. By the way...my cats are also INDOORS ONLY ~!~ That alone can extend the life of a cat. Outdoors is just not safe so mine have a fun and safe time INSIDE ONLY.

I have to agree, although the inclination is to find the 'healthiest' options. Which I did initially, but my cat is incredibly finicky and likes Fancy Feast Chicken feast entree, so that's what he gets all the time. Hasn't been sick in the past 3 years since he's primarily been eating that and he's about 13 years old now.

my himalayan cat shed so much after her pregnancy, she almost look bald, she was like that for nearly 3months long. I used to feed her home made food. and then i started changing her food into royal canin wet and dry. in a month i can see her progress, she is fluffy again, Now her coat is very soft, shiny and healthy. Thicker than ever. i see no problem in giving her royal canin.

Hi so I have seen a ton of people comment that all these foods are the only one in their pet stores, the reason for that is money those pet stores do not care what they are selling to you and nor do the brands they just want the money. Pet stores also do this because they know people think that if it is in the pet store it is safe for your pet but that is not the case. An easy solution to this problem is doing your research finding a brand that will be good for your pet at a price range for you and buy it ONLINE it is crazy how easy it is to buy food online safe easy big selection and you do not have to go anywhere. I used to feed my cat Blue Buffalo canned and dry but it was getting expensive and her poop was loose and extremely smelly. I switched to Sheba canned and Kirkland brand dry food (has the exact same ingredients as BB dry but only $17 for 25 lbs in my area) and now she's doing better.

Is the Rachael Ray one good? I get what this video is about but if someone doesn't have the money to buy cat food that's on the pricer side, what can they do? I have a friend who rescued two cats from the street and he gives them the purina brand and I know it's not so good but it's better than the poor cats just eating junk from the street. But of course that's my opinion.

cats surpisenly can eat most stuff people can. cats can have fresh cooked rice, many types of greens and everything from fish to chicken. noodles and rice should be limited though as a source of food with meats and greens being primary food source. that and a small bit of coconut oil helps them too.

Actually most, if not all greens, are not made for a cat's diet. Cat's are not omnivores, they are carnivores. They can and should live off only meat. Meat especially from birds/poultry. Fish is usually not the best (humans included) because of mercury and high acid content, but it's fine once in a while

And some of these made the list of best cat foods! I'll go with what my cat will eat.

Then I started to become aware of the crap that is put in human food, and changed my way of eating, which led me to research pet food industry. Well, surprise surprise, that's mostly crap also. I usually feed them at near noon time. They ate little from my dried food i guess they might have eaten in the early morning from food given by many cat feeders in my area. I guess my feeding is not their main meal.

What are your thoughts on 4Health cat food? We are just trying it out now. My ( now previous vet) recommended Science Diet for our Senior kitty. When I saw the ingredients I was very angry. We want to trust our vets but we have to remember that some are more about the money than your pets health. He also became angry when he found out that we were buying Revolution and getting vacs from another vet because he was less expensive. Again, money. And recommended that we not feed our seniors can food which is I was a bit angry about.

I think it's best if they remove 9 lives on the shelf I got a kitten like a month ago and she doesn't like 9 lives I've heard so many bad rumors about it :v

I bought 9lives( the only i can afford) for a cat someone abandoned in my neighborhood after it got so skinny and no one fed it. You should see how big he is now and when I pet him his fur is very nice and fluffly. I do throw in some canned cat food or chicken/ tuna for more meat sometimes and add a little olive oil. Btw he went from being punked to being the boss around here(they have to wait till his done eating now haha). Also many better dry cat foods only have a little bit of extra meat and a whole bunch of grains and even corn. I dont see how thats better than 9 lives and they also been around for years.

About the rumors 9lives did have a recall some while back because it was missing a key nutrient or something so yea anyone who got a big bag of that and fed only that to their cats, for sure they died. But it can happen to any company and no one hears about those recalls.

I am an animal rescue advocate and got donated about 200 bins of wet and dry cat foods, and haven't looked at the cans and bags for anything bad yet. Though I have fed them Fancy Feast for 2 months without knowing anything... And purina has been their diet for even longer without my knowledge. Thank you for the helpful video!

I don't know... Our first four indoor cats lived between 18 and 20. (we had a dog too that wouldn't eat dog food once she ate some cat food) The dog lived to be 18. All they had was Purina Cat Chow and occasionally Friskies wet food. The next four we tried "healthier" food, tried to keep up on their vaccines better. We think one got a volvulus maybe? And two had inoperable tumors at their vaccine site. Those four lived between 10 and 18. Now our two are 10. Purina Cat Chow Inside variety and no vaccines. As I stated before all of our 10 cats have been strictly indoor.

So what to feed my cat then?!!! Because it seems like you named every product out there!!!!

He definitely didn't.. Those are the main companies cat owners and other people know because they're the ones that always have the commercials. I fed my cats nutro, they loved it, and then moved to wellness core, which just made one cat fat and the other hardly ate. So now I'm feeding them wet food from soulistic, and then moving over to raw food.

Look up the life span of a street cat, less than 10yrs. Most only 3 yrs. Very bad example. BTW my oldest made it to 17, which is still too young imo.

Thanks for the info! Knowledge is power. And let me just say, the better brands are not unaffordable. You make it work. And think about it, could you ever put a price on the life of your beloved pet?! Absolutely not. And if something ever did happen to your pet, like the loss of life, i bet you would pay ANY price to have them back! So just do whats right for them now! I beg everyone to switch to a brand that offers no by-product, corn wheat or soy, no artificial coloring or flavors. Your pet is worth it!!! Blue buffalo is a great brand, thats what i feed my kitty.

I have been feeding my cats friskies, wet and dry and meow mix for over 30 years and they have lived long lives one till 20. I now feed them friskies wet and purina one dry

4 oz baby food meat, 4 oz baby food mixed vegetables, 4 oz cooked oatmeal (w/a little extra water), 1 tsp vita mix (a blend of bran, nutritional yeast, bone meal, and lecithin), a sprinkle of dried parsley. Mix. Divide in ice cube tray, freeze. Store frozen cubes in freezer safe container. Take out 2 cubes, thaw, THEN heat slightly. Add yoke of 1 organic egg. Mix. Divide, and store half in glass container in fridge. Feed.

You know... I can accept cheaper versions of Purina but when you present me with Royal Canin, both dry and wet, I call it bullshit. You have no idea what you're talking about here, buddy. 4 of my cats spent their lives on Canin and they were in perfect shape. Read something.

I agree to all of those. Took one of our cats (the siamese) to see a vet on saturday..itchy and scatchin ever since we got him 6 months ago..but worse lately......figured he might be allergic to the chicken based Happy Tails food we had been giving him ...anyhow, changed him to performatrin Ultra salmon and potatoe (contains only 1 protein and 1 carb source) the day before..and he loves it!! The vet was pushing the food they sell to unsuspecting folks...science diet and royal canin...hahaha...thankfully i know better...also tried to get me to put him on allergy pill...lol..yep, they're tring hard to get the animals in the Big Pharma scheme too. Geesh

What do you recommend ? I want something that doesn't cause urine crystals or kidney stones.

Yeah, I'm going with another commenter, this is hype. My cats lived long lives with some of the same products listed here. Could be scare tactic's too. Other pet food companies trying to get our business by putting the others down. If we listen to all the crap on the internet we'd be drinking dis-tilled water and nothing else and even that's risky. can't breathe the air can't eat the food.Where does all our food come from? Where are these farm's that would have to have millions of cattle, chickens, pigs, that feed us daily, say everybody had spare ribs for dinner the whole world, that would amount to 3,25 billion pigs slaughtered

Sorry but that’s simply not true. I live in germany and we have many affordable grain-free shit-free cat foods available at pet stors. SURELY the big petstors in america must have an option too! This video isn’t telling you to starve your cats. It’s telling you to take literally 5 minutes out of your life, inform yourself and feed your cat food that isn’t 50% fillers and things your cat can’t even digest. Check out the KZread channel All About Cats! They review MANY cat brands thoroughly with lab testing, analyzing their protein content as well as providing unbiased reviews for what is the most species appropriate for our cats. Generally, the most revered cat food brands are Ziwi Peak, Tiki Cat, Weruva, Rawz, Instinct, and Wellness. These wet cat foods are revered because they have named meats, NO animal byproducts, NO grain, wheat, corn, or soy, low in carbohydrates, and generally have a straightforward ingredient label that is high in protein. Majority of these foods are more expensive and can be found at local pet stores. They are much more expensive than your regular grocery store brands but you will see the difference in your cat once you make the switch from essentially junk food for kitties.

I'm wondering if there's any safe food to feed cats? Even the ultra expensive Hill's Science Diet isn't immune as they apparently changed the formula in 2019 and started outsourcing more ingredients to China and the reviews since then have been mostly negative. Good informative video except I muted the annoying music.

It's called common sense. Do you believe your pets need food coloring? Do they care what color their food is? How about artificial flavoring? Why not the actual flavor of the real meat? Meat-by-product? Sure, let's just give our pets the scraps of a corpse from some random animal. Soy? Very bad for cats. Corn? They don't need vegetables. Geez, please do some nutritional research not just for your pets, but for yourself!

for starters, the whole "byproduct meal" is not true. byproduct of meat is cartilage, bone, hoof, and many other things that people dont eat. the byproduct meal is where all the calcium is. if you feed a cat just chicken breasts or meat, they will eventually develop too thin of bones because it has no calcium in its diet. and as for the corn meal or brewers rice, its used as a binding agent. unless your can has allergies to grain, its fine. please do not belive this nieve users video

Ricky Rush I know this was an old comment, but I have to say this. You said: "My cat loves Friskies". So? The average human loves fried stuff and sugary foods. It doesn't mean it's good for us.

The Vets tried a sample of Hills wet and dry cat food he turned its nose up at like most cat foods. He is the most fussiest stray cat, he his about 12 years old. I feed him on Sheba, Felix wet and Dry , Go Cat biscuits and Whiskas Dental Biscuits also fresh cooked Chicken and Turkey mashed into small pieces for treat. He loves his food. Meal on the Morning and goes in the Garden for his daily snooze, early evening he starts wanting to be fed again. and about 10pm. It is a daily ritual with him all ways about the same time. If the ones I mention are not safe then I do not know what to feed him.

What about whiskas kitten dry Food is it good or bad....???!!

Raw diet. Problem solved. Your cats will love you.

Salmonella and worms. Never raw. Too risky. Known many breeders when I used to show. Many have had high vet bills because of raw.

most purina is not a good source of diet for a cat, i have had problems with the wet food when it comes to cats vomiting it up.

Of course they test on animals, they are making products for animals. It would be like complaining that makeup products are tested on humans. As far as the testing goes though Purina is testing to make sure that the animals are getting the necessary nutrition from the diet, IE making sure its actually good for your pet.

Not testing animal food on animals sounds at the very least foolish and at worst life threateningly dangerous.

No veterinarian, in private practice, is paid for recommending foods! Pet food companies do test their food on pets but DO NOT cut them open - they visually watch the pets health, they may draw some blood but the animals are not harmed and are treated much better than many privately owned animals. I agree with a few of on your list but please, by-products are NOT a bad thing, by-products are simply things that we (consumers)won't eat such as liver, kidney, etc (NOT fur, nails, feathers etc) - pets get most of their nutrition from such parts of the anatomy. If a pet is in the wild they will eat the organ meat first because that is where all the essential vitamins are, they don't chomp on a thigh of a chicken first - meat is important but not the only thing they need to eat. FIND A PRODUCT THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOUR CAT - IT MAY TAKE SOME TIME BUT NOT ONE FOOD IS RIGHT FOR EVERY CAT!

Cupcake....If you don't think this is true then do this.....bring your bag of cat food to your vet and have him point out the bad stuff and ask him what the good stuff is.......that way you will see and know the difference. I did it myself. Hope this helps you.

No duh they are nutritious. Every single cat food brand out there is legally supposed to put a certain amount of nutrients to the food. The bad part is that the main meat source in these foods are animal by products. Animal by products are unconsumable meat like the head or the foot. That is not that bad. The bad part is that animal by product could literally be roadkill and rotten meat. Companies don’t have to tell where that meat comes from. AND the cat food is filled with carbohydrates and that gives cats diabetes. Cats are not cows, they are carnivores and they need to mainly eat meat. But when it comes to cheap food, fancy feast is not that bad because they prioritize meat over carbohydrates but they still use animal byproducts. But 9lives is food from hell.
