Oh, so the No.1 clip was what that lady in the news with an identical vase saw. Bought for a similar price also from a charity shop and sold at auction the other day for £3800!

Tell me when the British empire conquered China. Scotland has long been part of the U.K. Scotland is also the British empire, like it or not. Those pieces didn't come to be in England via the same route....

@@MrsBrit1 1839. There's a fascinating documentary called Empires of Silver about the often very violent history between Britain & China. That said, the vase and ring could have come any number of ways, including perfectly legal and harmless purchases or being brought by Chinese and Indian owners.

Should not be surprised how the Indian jewelry gets there. They stole jewelry from the tajmahal empire and brought it back to UK.
