Cell phone video of a very intense squall line coming through Champaign, IL in the overnight hours. Multiple strikes hit very close to the apartment complex I resided in, including a transformer taking a direct hit and the movie theater taking a hit across the street. Enjoy!

Great thunderstorm video! According to the nws Lincoln forecast discussion that was issued at that time, these storms were caused by a major upper low near the region, strong synoptic-scale forcing and a strong nocturnal low level jet.
I remember this, this was a server thunderstorm that hit Champaign, IL that night. I live in Rantoul, IL quite few miles away from Champaign, IL.

Incredible huge claps from closeby CGs at: 04:30, 04:50, 06:58, 07:45, 10:20...yikes on that CG striking on that theater......and also 12:38 amongst many other loud claps...excellent sound quality of those thunderclaps heard too...LUVS it!!!
