Great information here, I'm glad to hear you aren't having overheating issues that the reference cards are. That is promising with hoping it's an isolated issue. As for FH5, I used to have some serious memory leak issues before the first couple patches, the game would crash and blue screen frequently. Like a lot of other games, they seem to rush it out half done. It's great now and still one of my favorites.

AMD has officially stated that the vapor chamber on a few batches of cards was under filled with fluid. This is why they over heat. I had one of the defective early cards. I now have a red devil 7900xtx and it runs great

Yeah I am glad they finally came out and said something, sucks to have to send it back in to get fixed but at least its taken care of, the red devil model looked sick!

I've used an ASRock RX 7900 XTX Phantom Gaming OC since last August. It's May now so that's nine months. It has been awesome!

I would certainly recommend the AIB models of the XTX over the reference cards. Got my Red Devil 7900 XTX and it has been crushing every game that I have been playing, so far, on Fedora Linux.

I would have wanted to buy a 7900xtx, but it wasn't available where I'm at at the time. I had to "settle" for a 4090. Cost per frame, the XT was a bad deal. I didn't even consider the 4080.

4090 is a fantastic card albeit pricey, 7900xtx is still expensive but it was in a more reasonable ball park for me price wise, I agree that everything else was just priced terribly for the performance.

Man you hit the nail on the head with the reputation damage, I honestly felt a little sad. For the first time in forever people were so hyped for AMD but there still are many who remember bad experiences from a distant past with the manufacturer, and you were already able to see lots of comments popping up if it was really worth taking the big switching step before this issue arose. Instead of stealing market shares from the 4080 it might just save Nvidias sale numbers. Guess the point of price drop is now over and 4080 shelves will finally empty. But as I stated in that other comment: I decided to go with AMD again like last time. Putting my trust in Sapphire. :)

Yeah just a pretty disappointing feeling overall, I like the card, and decided to speak with my wallet against Nvidias pricing, but AMD shot themselves in the foot. Well spoken.

Well at least it's not AMD' s chip and just a cooler .. technically cooler master messed up since they are who manufacture the cooler to my understanding.. still, it's AMD's product

Would you afterall still recomend to buy it? I was thinking about an 7900xtx with an Intel Core i9 13900

I have been using it, and honestly with whats available on the market, if you have the money to spend I cant say you would be unhappy as I have enjoyed using it a lot. Its probably not worth waiting to see if things will get cheaper if you want something super high end right now you might as well just jump on it, pricing is always fluctuating and you can get into a loop of waiting forever.
