From what I see, that's because his magic trick is only consisted of one trick while other magic acts have more diversity like more comedy besides magic

He’s a mentalist/master hypnotist, so I understand how he knew 3 would need chosen and 7. So The only logical answer is that he touched the cards in between, but it looks like they they cut away to the audience or just deleted that part.
